Thanks for the tour! Amazing factory , I love that gigantic equipment, in europe the manufacturers are caught in 3meters transport width and 4meters height🙄. I think the Airsep system in the new Grimme harvesters is a Spudnik design. The planter row units seemed quite familiar to me😁. Hope Grimme will invite you to Germany soon , there is a similar event in the factory in Damme too.

That would be awesome to visit the grimme plant some day. Glad you enjoyed the video.

That was a very interesting tour. Thanks for taking us along. Did they say how many potato harvesters they build a year?
@RockyMountainFarmer4 сағат бұрын
I know they build them to order so it’s just however many people order one

Fascinating. Wonderful tour. I wonder how many layers of paint are on those carts.
@RockyMountainFarmer18 сағат бұрын
There are so many it’s 3 inches thick in some places

We raise a lot beet around here . Few big farmers own self employ diggers and tops leaves before digger puts them in a cart holds 30 ton, then the they puts in beets cart and then on the semi.
@RockyMountainFarmer16 сағат бұрын
I wish we could raise some beets.

@RockyMountainFarmer22 сағат бұрын
They do it every year but seems like there’s always different equipment and new things
@johnkeynes88737 сағат бұрын
How about a toure of the factory where your potatoes are sent
@ileenmcminn206221 сағат бұрын
Very cool! Funny thing the only "Spudnik" (scooper) shown was 2 seconds as you went out the last door, that was what started the company. Maybe you should buy a spinach harvester and try raising spinach! LOL
@RockyMountainFarmer21 сағат бұрын
They have grown into making a lot of equipment. I don’t think spinach would grow here.

2003 Spudnik joined Grimme Group in Germany. So Spudnik is most likely German technic i think. Greets from Germany.
@RockyMountainFarmer21 сағат бұрын
The only thing that is the same between the 2 companies is the row unit on the planters. Literally everything else is different.
@JTFrezzz259 сағат бұрын
Yes, the devices are different simply because of the different transport widths and other different requirements. But the technology that can be found in the Sputnik devices comes largely from the development of Grimme, which is then adapted for the US market. From a technical point of view, the Sputnik devices are rather simpler and less complex.

The opposite of John Deere :P I think Spudnik will take a bigger marketshare just by their right to repair way of thinking.
