Thanks for the information, I'm an introverted and my task was to explain the game, I will have to write on my note whatever you said, thank you, you made it easier for me to explain, I suck at explaining as I always worried no one will understand me

Yes, Christopher, the Marshmallow Challenge has become very popular in recent years. Such is the result when you engage groups with fun and challenging tasks. If only all of our school curriculum could be designed like this!

No results?

Hi John, thanks for asking re the results. The focus of our video tutorials is on the instructions and set-up, with some coverage of what the activity may look like. The results for this particular group were not unlike that of dozens of other groups I have worked with, and are described in the Leadership Tips and Reflections.

Mark Collard I do these types of leadership training courses in china with some government officials. The older official doesn't like learning from a foreigner and the younger newer generation wants to learn but not wanting the older generation to know they want to learn. Having a reference point for the usual "what's the highest you have seen?" Question is helpful for a goal. Having new activities is always helpful. I was "given the opportunity" polite way of saying "put in the position" to learn how to give leadership skills courses. It's going great only chinese love to cheat even in a non reward application, I think it's ingrained in their culture. Reviews of activies usually start "what did you get/learn from the activity?" "we won" not what they learned. It has gotten better over time that the activity is about communication, creative thinking, following a leader, planning, (this is the hardest lesson in china) leaders listening to peoples ideas. But I do like your videos quick and to the point. Also I've been putting in mindset and priming into the courses to keep it interesting, are there other references or books or information you can suggest I could follow or use? Thank you Mark keep it up.

Terrific response John, thank you for taking the time. I have been fortunate to deliver about 3-4 months of programs in China over the past few years, so I have had a glimpse of how the Chinese respond to an experiential-based program (overwhelmingly positive.) Yes, there are many resources - I presume you have checked out playmeo's activity database - www.playmeo.com/activities - and there are a number of books I have written too, such as No Props (biggest seller) Count Me In and my latest Serious Fun (all can be found in .../shop ) Re how high have I seen the tallest Marshmallow Tower - I honestly cannot recall exactly, but I'm confident I have regularly seen 80+ cm.

I really appreciate the rapid and informative response. I have visited the playmeo site and have used some of the activities. I have to keep it simple without too much of the embarrassing moments (the older officials can't look foolish or too fallible) Living in China 6 years you know where the dog line is. I will definitely check out your books. Thank you once again and take care.
