Maybe black people have less homes than white people because there are major cultural differences. Maybe compare suburbia blacks and whites to city blacks and whites. Most blacks live in cities. There are way too many variable in this situation to say it's discrimination.

I don't listen to Ben Shapiro much, but FFS this is the kind of interview that demands at least an hour. It's like when Anthony Jeselnik ended up talking to Joan Rivers . That kind of meet-up is golden. Short of literally resurrecting Adam Smith, I don't think you could find a better pairing.

@@bruceli9094 *_The first lesson of economics is scarcity: there is never enough of anything to fully satisfy all those who want it. The first lesson of politics is to disregard the first lesson of economics._* ~ Thomas Sowell *_The most fundamental fact about the ideas of the political left is that they do not work. Therefore we should not be surprised to find the left concentrated in institutions where ideas do not have to work in order to survive._* *_The next time some academics tell you how important diversity is, ask how many Conservatives there are in their sociology department._* *_Liberals seem to assume that, if you don't believe in their particular political solutions, then you don't really care about the people that they claim to want to help._* *_If you have been voting for politicians who promise to give you goodies at someone else's expense, then you have no right to complain when they take your money and give it to someone else, including themselves._* *_No matter how disastrously some policy has turned out, anyone who criticizes it can expect to hear: 'But what would you replace it with?' When you put out a fire, what do you replace it with?_* *_What is ominous is the ease with which some people go from saying that they don't like something to saying that the government should forbid it. When you go down that road, don't expect freedom to survive very long._* *_It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong._* *_The fatal attraction of government is that it allows busybodies to impose decisions on others without paying any price themselves._* *_The most basic question is not what is best, but who shall decide what is best._* *_There is nothing so bad that politics cannot make it worse._* *_Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it._* *_Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. In area after area - crime, education, housing, race relations - the situation has gotten worse after the bright new theories were put into operation. The amazing thing is that this history of failure and disaster has neither discouraged the social engineers nor discredited them._* *_People who refuse to accept unpleasant truths have no right to complain about politicians who lie to them. What other kind of candidates would such people elect?_* *_The fact that so many successful politicians are such shameless liars is not only a reflection on them, it is also a reflection on us. When the people want the impossible, only liars can satisfy._* *_The problem isn't that Johnny can't read. The problem isn't even that Johnny can't think. The problem is that Johnny doesn't know what thinking is; he confuses it with feeling._* *_People who are very aware that they have more knowledge than the average person are often very unaware that they do not have one-tenth of the knowledge of all of the average persons put together. In this situation, for the intelligentsia to impose their notions on ordinary people is essentially to impose ignorance on knowledge._* *_One of the sad signs of our times is that we have demonized those who produce, subsidized those who refuse to produce, and canonized those who complain._* *_One of the most important reasons for studying history is that virtually every stupid idea that is in vogue today has been tried before and proved disastrous before, time and again._* *_When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear._* *_The left takes its vision seriously - more seriously than it takes the rights of other people. They want to be our shepherds. But that requires us to be sheep._* *_It is amazing that people who think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medication and a government bureaucracy to administer it._* *_I have never understood why it is 'greed' to want to keep the money you've earned, but not greed to want to take somebody else's money._* *_No one will really understand politics until they understand that politicians are not trying to solve our problems. They are trying to solve their own problems - of which getting elected and re-elected are number one and number two. Whatever is number three is far behind._* *_When any branch of government can exercise powers not authorized by either statues or the Constitution, 'we the people' are no longer free citizens but subjects, and our 'public servants' are really our public masters. And America is no longer America. The freedom for which whole generations of Americans have fought and died is gradually but increasingly being taken away from us with smooth and slippery words._* *_Those who want to "spread the wealth" almost invariably seek to concentrate the power. It happens too often, and in too many different countries around the world, to be a coincidence. Which is more dangerous, inequalities of wealth or concentrations of power?_* *_The great escape of our times is escape from personal responsibility for the consequences of one's own behavior._* *_The vision of the anointed is one in which ills as poverty, irresponsible sex, and crime derive primarily from 'society,' rather than from individual choices and behavior. To believe in personal responsibility would be to destroy the whole special role of the anointed, whose vision casts them in the role of rescuers of people treated unfairly by 'society'._* *_Much of the self-righteous nonsense that abounds on so many subjects cannot stand up to three questions: (1) Compared to what? (2) At what cost? and (3) What are the hard facts?_* *_By the end of the 20th century, "liberals" had again discredited themselves, to the point where they went back to calling themselves "progressives" to escape their past, much as people do when they declare bankruptcy._* *_We seem to be getting closer and closer to a situation where nobody is responsible for what they did but we are all responsible for what somebody else did._* *_What is especially disturbing about the political left is that they seem to have no sense of the tragedy of the human condition. Instead, they tend to see the problems of the world as due to other people not being as wise or as noble as themselves._* *_Envy plus rhetoric equals 'social justice'._* *_There is usually only a limited amount of damage that can be done by dull or stupid people. For creating a truly monumental disaster, you need people with high IQs._* *_Few of the great tragedies of history were created by the village idiot, and many by the village genius._* *_It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance._* *_As long as human beings are imperfect, there will always be arguments for extending the power of government to deal with these imperfections. The only logical stopping place is totalitarianism -- unless we realize that tolerating imperfections is the price of freedom._* *_To say that 'wealth in America is so unfairly distributed in America,' as Ronald Dworkin does, is grossly misleading when most wealth in the United States is not distributed at all. People create it, earn it, save it, and spend it._* *_For the anointed, traditions are likely to be seen as the dead hand of the past, relics of a less enlightened age, and not as the distilled experience of millions who faced similar human vicissitudes before._* *_If the world was the way the left conceives it to be, the world would be a better world than the way the right conceives it to be. Unfortunately, the world doesn't happen to be that way._* *_People who believe in evolution in biology often believe in creationism in government. In other words, they believe that the universe and all the creatures in it could have evolved spontaneously, but that the economy is too complicated to operate without being directed by politicians._* *_Charter schools, and especially some particular networks of charter schools, located in low-income black and Hispanic neighborhoods have achieved educational results not only far above the levels achieved by most public schools in those neighborhoods, but sometimes even higher educational results than those in most schools located in affluent white neighborhoods. No one expected that._* ~ Thomas Sowell, _Charter Schools and Their Enemies_ *_In a realm where educational failure has long been the norm-schools in low-income minority neighborhoods-this is success, a remarkable success. What is equally remarkable is how unwelcome this success has been in many places. What has been especially remarkable is that it has been the most educationally successful charter schools that seem to have drawn the most hostility, both in words and in deeds._* ― Thomas Sowell, _Charter Schools and Their Enemies_ www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/2056.Thomas_Sowell

*_If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 50 years ago, a liberal 25 years ago and a racist today._* ~ Thomas Sowell *_It is amazing how many people think they are doing blacks a favor by exempting them from standards that others are expected to meet._* *_The vision of the left, full of envy and resentment, takes its worst toll on those at the bottom - whether black or white - who find in that paranoid vision an excuse for counterproductive and ultimately self-destructive attitudes and behavior._* *_People sometimes ask if I have tried to convince black ‘leaders’ to take a different view on racial issues. Of course not. I wouldn't spend my time trying to persuade the mafia to give up crime. Why should I spend time trying to convince race hustlers to give up victimhood?_* *_Liberals have been driven to the desperate expedient of attributing . . .social pathology in today's ghettos to 'a legacy of slavery' even though black children grew up with two parents more often under slavery than today._* *_The black family survived centuries of slavery and generations of Jim Crow, but it has disintegrated in the wake of the liberals' expansion of the welfare state._* *_Racism is not dead. But it is on life-support, kept alive mainly by the people who use it for an excuse or to keep minority communities fearful or resentful enough to turn out as a voting bloc on election day._* *_Racism is not dead, but it is on life support -- kept alive by politicians, race hustlers and people who get a sense of superiority by denouncing others as "racists."_* ~ Thomas Sowell

Thus our quarrel is not about the value of freedom per se, but stems from our opinion of our fellow men, high or low as the case may be; indeed, it is no exaggeration to say that a man's admiration for absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him._* ~ Alexis de Tocqueville *_The man who produces while others dispose of his product is a slave._* ~ Ayn Rand *_What is the basic, the essential, the crucial principle that differentiates freedom from slavery? It is the principle of voluntary action versus physical coercion or compulsion._* ~ Ayn Rand *_In our desire to have government become our benefactor and sustainer, we have allowed it to become our taskmaster and overlord. As a result, we have become little more than well-fed, well-entertained slaves to the state. Freedom, as envisioned by our forefathers, is gone._* ~ Chuck Baldwin *_It is incredible how as soon as a people become subject, it promptly falls into such complete forgetfulness of its freedom that it can hardly be roused to the point of regaining it, obeying so easily and willingly that one is led to say that this people has not so much lost its liberty as won its enslavement._* ~ Etienne de la Boétie *_Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grand-children are once more slaves._* ~ D.H. Lawrence *_A slave is one who waits for someone to come and free him._* ~ Ezra Pound *_Enslave the liberty of but one human being and the liberties of the world are put in peril._* ~ William Lloyd Garrison *_To educate a man is to unfit him to be a slave._* ~ Frederick Douglass *_No nation, ancient or modern, ever lost the liberty of speaking freely, writing, or publishing their sentiments, but forthwith lost their liberty in general and became slaves._* ~ John Peter Zenger *_I will not attack your doctrines nor your creeds if they accord liberty to me. If they hold thought to be dangerous - if they aver that doubt is a crime, then I attack them one and all, because they enslave the minds of men._* ~ Robert G. Ingersoll *_All socialism involves slavery._* ~ Herbert Spencer *_I believe that liberty is the only genuinely valuable thing that men have invented, at least in the field of government, in a thousand years. I believe that it is better to be free than to be not free, even when the former is dangerous and the latter safe. I believe that the finest qualities of man can flourish only in free air ~ that progress made under the shadow of the policeman's club is false progress, and of no permanent value. I believe that any man who takes the liberty of another into his keeping is bound to become a tyrant, and that any man who yields up his liberty, in however slight the measure, is bound to become a slave._* ~ H.L. Mencken *_For twenty-five years I've been speaking and writing in defense of your right to happiness in this world, condemning your inability to take what is your due, to secure what you won in bloody battles on the barricades of Paris and Vienna, in the American Civil War, in the Russian Revolution. Your Paris ended with Petain and Laval, your Vienna with Hitler, your Russia with Stalin, and your America may well end in the rule of the Ku Klux Klan! You've been more successful in winning your freedom than in securing it for yourself and others. This I knew long ago. What I did not understand was why time and again, after fighting your way out of a swamp, you sank into a worse one. Then groping and cautiously looking about me, I gradually found out what has enslaved you: YOUR SLAVE DRIVER IS YOU YOURSELF. No one is to blame for your slavery but you yourself. No one else, I say!_* ~ Wilhelm Reich *_While boasting of our noble deeds we're careful to conceal the ugly fact that by an iniquitous money system we have nationalized a system of oppression which, though more refined, is not less cruel than the old system of chattel slavery._* ~ Horace Greeley

its be a waste of his valuable time because the shit he would want to implement would never garner support in the house or the courts. he would be hated by the democrats and the some republians would be conflicted with his more libertarian ideology. so nothing would get done sadly. he just makes too much sense for the politicians we currently have. they barley let Trump get shit done and he is sort of bipartisan. I'm With Derp -〉 Your name reminds me of those old 'I'm with stupid' T-shirts, except in this case the matching shirt would be 'He's/She's the derp' instead of 'I'm the derp', that'd be a funny line of shirts!

I think I'll skip this one. I've read probably about half of his books and most of them are an application of Conflict of Vision to different aspects of society or more data to support it, a textbook on economics, a book about late talking children and a history of various ethnic groups in the U.S. (Ethnic America). Definitely, read Conflict of Visions and Ethnic America. I haven't read Basic Economics but since it's a textbook I imagine there are others that are comparable. What I remember about the late talking children book is that he and his wife stressed about their son but he turned out OK.
