Gel is better. And the grizzly spray he used is actually less potent than personal defense sprays/gels, since bears have a heightened sense of smell. The bear cans are good for crowd control. Having used bear spray on some guys who tried stealing the bikes off the back of my truck when I was sleeping in it, I can tell you (just like the man in the video said) bear spray gets everywhere.

Might have intervened if she had tried stabbing someone on the street - that's a judgement call. If there were no other people around, I would definitely have gotten out of there and called 911 from a distance.

As soon as she started approaching his truck, aggressively brandishing a knife, he was fully justified in using whatever force necessary to eliminate that threat.
