The Heroes album had a huge impact on me. These fiddlers were Mark's heroes, but they were mine as well. Getting to see this footage made the hair standup on my arms. Thank you so much, Mark. Wow.

My "Heroes" album was nominated for CMAs and Grammys in 1993. The behind the scenes footage of my playing with my fiddle/violin heroes was -- well, magical. See for yourself!

I was lucky - I got to hang out with my violin heroes! That was very, very special. Today, you are lucky. Because you get to hang out with your violin heroes - at the O'Connor/Berklee College of Music Summer String Program. Whether it is having a tune with Bruce Molsky, learning an Irish lament from Martin Hayes, how to make your bow imitate a heavy metal guitar from Rachel Barton Pine, sitting in front of Matt Haimovitz' cello and having your hair blown back, learning to chop from Casey Driessen, learning a South American choro from Federico Britos, a classic Texas Fiddle Breakdown from one of my heroes from my recording Texas Shorty, or sitting in Eugen Friesen's full camp orchestra at 4:00 in the afternoons etc etc...This is special, and a lot of people helped to make it happen for you. I made it happen for my 'Heroes' recording and now we are making it happen for you personally! In three weeks it commences for one week. Enroll for the string week of your life! www.berklee.edu/summer/mark-oconnor-berklee-summer-string

Stunning ! Wonderful life experiences befitting of the artistic aptitude and natural music in, our Mark! I listened to Doug yesterday just out of the blue, it’s a shame more don’t. Didn’t he lean on in to his music.

I've got to watch this again. Mark O'Connor is 'the man'. I've got a couple of his albums from when he was just a kid. Heck, he was 'the man' then too. Really love Grapppelli, but all of these guys are the best in their genre. This was really great to watch!

Mark O'Connor is my man-crush. He's the most talented musician of our generation, hands down.

Discovered the Heroes album on cassette in a wee shop on the Shetland Islands the year it was released. Didn't know who Mark was, or Vassar, or Buddy, but I was very quickly relieved of my ignorance. This album is priceless (so are these vids).

Great video, I would definitely love to see the full version of the document (if it even exists)! Anybody knows the name of the tune Mark plays with Jean Luc Ponty, please (kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6fNeaV_ZtZ8nLs)?
