Likewise, we need to have a system in place in politics to pick the next performing MLA MP n not stick with a leader for long even if he can't even goto assembly due to old age. Here, the voters don't care if he performs or not. Do u say the voters have right to choose a non performing MLA or MP coz he's their favourite? India does not stop anyone from contesting elections no matter how they perform. In what way this system is different from kingships we had b4 1947 where the kings decide how long he wanna stay in power no matter how good or bad he governs? So, I think 2 terms limit for MLAs MPs in India is necessary to stop leader worship n dynasty parties which claim as if it's their birth right to contest elections. How can a first time MLA MP compete with 5 times MLA or MP in a state like Tamil Nadu where money influence is beyond control? If BCCI has guts to say we will drop a player , y not in politics? We don'thave to allow leaders to contest after 2 terms citing social justice n equality for all. Every community needs a representation in assembly even if they have 1000 or 10 crores as population n only way to ensure this is fixed terms for all. In TN, Dravidian parties don't wanna allow EWS coz their policy is Brahmin bashing even today. Is it right for any party to openly target a community? What courts did to stop these leaders from demonising a community so far? Today, can u name any German party that openly says we will not allow Jews or any community anymore n even allowed to contest elections? If we had 2 terms system, we might have got a leader who accepts EWS n other stagnant policies long itself. A CM shld work for all voters n not restrict to specific communities to win elections n how to stop leaders like them from contesting elections in our present format? "Bharat" is too big talented n gifted to depend on just 1 or 2 leaders for 100 years in politics for progress in this day n age. If US can become a strong nation with such a policy, India can do better 10000 times better than US, if we had fixed terms too.

But if our MLA'S AND MP'S once they know that they cannot become ministers more than twice, they will do maximum loot in 10 years ,cwhat otherwise they would havenplanbed for 50 years. That is my worry But if after 2 terms they are provided with nice pension, they may be happy. That way ateast in.BJP There is a rule after 75 years one has to retire. Vajpayee, Advani, mualiman9har joshi etc. Even Modi has to go in the years. Othee parties entry criteria is 70 years

@@Survivor259 I completely support the fact that we need a strong opposition in our democracy. However that vindicates my stand that Politics (Opposition specifically) requires an analytical mindset to stand up for issues/decisions affecting the citizenry at large. Brain power is critical minus the Ego and the Holier than thou attitude exhibited by RaGa. The Congress rank and file are representing the public and have the onus of getting their act together to address issues of national interest - especially as they claim the title of 'leading the opposition'. When their own leadership is under question, with Mrs SG and both her kids playing 'passing the parcel' with INC Leadership on a whim, instability is the INCs middle name spiralling them Southwards. If internally there is strife, how can they face up to a juggernaut and expect other allied parties to join forces. Indian politics is now dependant on citizen action (if at all - especially after the AAP fiasco) which needs us to voice our concerns and initiate conversations to save ourselves and our democracy in the wake of a practically defunct opposition.
