Everyone complains about the European short-haul business class seats. - The distances between European airports are short, with a flight time of 45 minutes to a maximum of two hours. -The demand for economy tickets is high. The ticket price at the legacy airlines costs around €100-€200, while KLM Business class from Amsterdam to Brussels costs €850. The flight time of 50 min is not worth buying a business class ticket. - So if KLM places 12 or 14 business class seats, they will never all be occupied and therefore not profitable. I think most European business class travelers are travelers traveling via Amsterdam as a transit for a long-haul business class flight

are you sure you know your geography? flight times vary from 45' to 5-6hrs depending country and destination. AMS-LCA is 4h and ATH-AMS is 3,5h..LHR-OTP is 3,5 and LCA-LHR is 5hrs, not to mention flights to FNC, TFS,LPA take from 4,5-6,5. LIS-DUS is 3h, NAP-EDI is 3,5h and ATH-DUB 4h 20'

@@plutoamor but airlines are rarely going to have aircraft specifically for those routes with bigger seats because then they are confined to those routes only. You then loose flexibility for if you need spare aircraft

The point is that there are many daily rotations to destinations further away than the stated 2 hrs - and for those routes the business class product really is not great. Why would one pay 2-3x to fly business in Europe if all you get is an inedible meal (Wanders box..) and a little extra space.

I really like the A321 and prefer it to an B737. However KLM has really made some terrible decisions here with their interior. The seat pitch is much too low further down the back of the aircraft, especially as these aircraft will be used on 3-4 hour flights as well. Sitting in the back of one of these for 4 hours will be intolerable on your knees and back. The foldable headrests are only available for business and economy comfort, which is just a cost cutting measure - that should have been standard. And no curtain for business class? This will make sure half of the economy cabin will be using the forward lavatory. Yet another business class perk gone.

Only for those for whom education has failed. There is no country “Europe”. Europe is a continent and therefore there is no European Business Class but a Business Class of the Dutch airline KLM or a Business Class of the British airline British Airways or a Business Class of the German Lufthansa. And all look different. In addition, the A321 Neo is not a long-haul aircraft and no suites etc. are offered for the shorter routes. What does an “American Business Class” in the comparable Boeing 737 look like? Not different than here. Knowledge is power my friend.

Yet another American who has completely failed at education. First of all, there is no European Business Class. Europe is a continent, not a country. KLM is the Dutch airline and if this plane had a business class at all, which it doesn't - just a few premium economy seats - it would be a KLM business class! Where in this report, which had not a single statement, did you even hear or read that the A321 has a business class? No, they’re better than it looks. Just flew 4 hours from Amsterdam to Tenerife on the same aircraft type with the same type of seats. They are pretty ok for economy class. These KLM seats have even an extra “table” for your phone.

very poorly designed and thought out chair table and also over head baggage ,,over heasd baggage depth should be brough forward and like a clam shell opening it allows people of diffenrt heights to stow faster the lower table has no lip around it and also should have the cup holder on the bottom not the top incase of spillafge on a bumpy flight,,,,again poorly thought out designed and executed ......
