As an IITian decided to stay put in India to do little for my country and did little in my 40 years of expertise seen all politicians, I am only worried that a treasure like you should not be trapped into politics, I keep my prayers. Politics is a muck not only in India globally too. Dr Kalam’s presidential re-election and all tamashas later happened are an example. It's certainly not a weekend reading Arnab :). Ramayanam operates in multiple layers. If someone just scratches the surface, it's just another story. Get a layer deeper, it's the doa and don'ts of a human being in Kali Yuga. Another layer is about Dharma and how to upload principles.. Just go on and on, it gets you to the ultimate blissful state of moksha. No wonder then that this is also another Veda! Kudos to Dushyanth Sridhar to release a book for this generation, and thanks a ton Arnab and Republic TV for the patronage provided to Mr.Sridhar. South India is indeed the cradle of spiritualism, and I would like to see Republic Tamil become the number 1 channel in Tamilnadu.

We need to support Vedas, Puranas and Upanishad studies in a massive way by opening up Sanskrit centres of Excellence on the lines of IITs. Sanskrit should be revived like Hebrew in Israel. This is necessary to counter the western Eurocentric colonial biased indology from becoming the "primary source" to Understand Bharat.

Arnab talks politely to the people who have same views as his so it is like family. He shouts only at people who oppose his views. If he is on opposite side , he would have torn DS into peaces..If DS has reproduced the Ramayana as it was presented by Valmiki , then it would be trouble for parents to explain many things to youngsters nowadays. We can give various justification as per sashtras, etc., but today morality has changed very much. But it is a diluted version , then it might be easy..As DS himself says that Ramayana is based on a society which was prevalent that time..for DS , this has become his profession ( though was a chemical engg from BITS) so he may write similar books like Mahabharata, Geetha, Bhagvatham ..etc ,.( Since he is a Vaishnava , probably he will write books about Lord Vishnu only). But one thing is sure. DS is very good in explaining in simple way . So his book must be easy to read and understand..

My question to Mr. Shridar is that when ravana abducted seetha, she threw her ornaments one by one, which later Rama picked it up and felt sorrow. Hanuman brought some kanayazhi from srilanka from her. If so, whether she went to the forest with all jewelry and not as sanyani ? So far, all movies and TV serial showed that she went as sanyasini as rama and laxmana did.

Movies and TV serials on Ramayana are not authentic sources for knowing the epic Srimad Ramayana. One has to read the original Valmiki Ramayana in Sanskrit or any other translation of the same in any other known language authored by learned and respected authors to know the facts as it happened in Ramayana history.
