We had a chat with the 'Most hated man on the internet' and four times world kickboxing champion Andrew Tate to discuss why he thinks depression is fake in many cases, flame wars on Twitter and why he believes Harry Potter author, J K Rowling, is desperate to sleep with President Donald Trump.

I've never heard this guy talk in an interview, but admired him as an athlete. I was reading through the comments before I watched the interview, and thought I was going to see him make a fool of himself... but that wasn't the case at all. I had depression for a huge chunk of my life (teens to late 20s). All hate for Andrew Tate aside, he does have a point. The only way to overcome depression is to take action in the areas of your life which are making you depressed. While Andrew Tate is a bit of a loudmouth, what he's saying is no different from what any therapist would want you to do. My depression only went away when I stopped the self-pity and started taking action (cutting toxic friends and family out of my life, finding a job, finding new friends etc).
@natalieportmanfanbundlepla6060
@natalieportmanfanbundlepla6060 Жыл бұрын
Respect. But what people don't understand these days is authority. Sometimes there will be a loudmouth person who says everything right but you hate them because of the way they speak it. Most truth doesn't get burned into your head by sitting next to you and rubbing your back and smiling while dancing over all of the ugly parts to try and get you to understand. The biggest lessons people learn are from bullies. Sometimes you have to get a little aggressive with someone verbally for it to sink in. And as much as it hurts it will be the one time you are forced to sit and think a lot about what the person said. Think about Trump for example. He has done actual good for America and yet all everyone can talk about is how much of a mean guy he is because they don't like his delivery and personality. Anyone with a food father knows what I'm talking about.

Go study the actual biological effects depression has on the brain and don't just judge them as "feeling sad". Because they're not sad, feeling depressed in and of itself isn't even the same as feeling sad. But, as I can tell, you have not done your research and are not a qualified medical professional (at least not one with expertise in mental issues), so understanding the difference between feeling sad, having a depressed mood and having depression are waters we are only just testing.

The article he cited "Behaviors are not diseases" is from Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) which is a nonprofit organization established in 1969 by the Church of Scientology and psychiatrist Thomas Szasz, headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Its stated mission is to "eradicate abuses committed under the guise of mental health and enact patient and consumer protections." Many critics regard it as a Scientology front group whose purpose is to push the organization's anti-psychiatric agenda.

Tbh I agree with everything Andrew says in this interview, I came here from the official podcast where at first I thought how could he say such a thing that depression isn't real, but he actually makes sense to me, I scroll through the comments on this video and all I see is people that either a: didn't fully watch the video, or b: people who don't even try to understand and just go to defensive mode. The people who are saying he's wrong then saying how them themselves are depressed, what do you want us to do about it? I just think it's sad how people are taking personal offense and calling him a terrible human when he's trying to tell the people that there is way they can get out of depression, Also it's super funny how people are insulting him even though he likes the insults

Thing is, he's not saying they can get out of depression. Even if he was, he's not a therapist and isn't qualified to talk about this. He's intentionally trying to invalidate people's experience's to be edgy and then claim that he's a badass when people call him out on his bullshit. Depressed people don't want you to do anything about it unless you're their therapist. They just don't want you to tell them they're making it the fuck up.

There's one thing that I feel like anyone who watches this should pay close attention to, especially if you have a strong opinion: Tate specifically says that hes likely not 100% true, as for anyone else with an opinion. He admits that the truth is probably somewhere in the middle of his beliefs and someone elses. So regardless of what you believe, you can choose to listen to what he offers, test it with your views, and maybe accept some and reject some. Hell, you can reject it all. But for God sakes either stuff a sock in it or provide a constructive comment. Everyone here is either sucking his dick or trying to chop it off. It's blatantly indicative of the inability for people to make up their own minds. Just consider the argument , then move along. If you get so twisted up you can't help but scream at him, or scream at the ones screaming, you have no self control, and no real drive to do anything productive.

If you have no concept of something you won't actively think about it because you literally can't, and if it happened to you, you'd be much more likely to explain it away as something else. Rather than being sad for no reason, you're just bored and need to get out and do something. It's a seemingly perfect solution. It's like forcing the "don't think about it" mentality. If you just force yourself to be unable to understand it, it's literally impossible for it to happen to you. Imagine if you grew up in a society that didn't have a word for depression. Nobody ever talked about it and if you mentioned it everybody would be utterly confused as to what you mean. If you started getting depressed for seemingly no reason you wouldn't be able to understand it. You'd pawn it off as something else and go on as normal. "Huh... well I guess I'm just tired" or "I'm just feeling lazy today". Even if all this sounds like crazy talk I believe it would actually work

You don't just one day go from "perfectly happy" to "suicidal depression" in a snap. It's a progressive thing. What I'm saying is that in the early stages if instead of pitying yourself for being "depressed" you simply ignored it and actually did something fulfilling with your life before it got to that stage, alot of people would be alot better off.

As a person who is depressed, He says a lot of truth. Like he obviously now exploaded on the internet and he does things that some poeple dont like, or people dont like some of his takes. But when it comes to progressing in life he is absolutely true. Depression feels like its unescapable thing, but it is becouse you accepted that this is your reality. Dont ever ignore your problems, it will come back to you 10 times harder. I got bullied in middleschool and I super hardly regret I didnt do anything about it. Like I had all these options that are clearly visible for me today, that I didnt use when I was bullied. People dont like his opinion about depression, becouse human nature is that people dont get easily convinced that something can be completely different than it really is. People say always "ignore your bullies they will get bored of it". Well thats not the case, it will show bullies you are easy target. What you should do is fight bullies and show them who is boss. Always when I say this people get angry at me, that this is not how you solve this, but they are the same people that got bullied and did what they say is the right thing to do. Theres magical force of violence and ability to fight in general becouse people dont want to be beaten. All my problems with being bullied went away after I started kickboxing. I didnt even need to punch anyone, their understanding of what I train was enough for them to be scared of bullying me. I started too late. Obviously theres always stuff you can do to improve yourself. I just seem to not be doing smart moves when it comes to what really will bring me happiness. What we humans crave is what we lack. Tate obviously didnt have money so he got money and sucess and he is happy now. What I did lack was normal human interactions, actually being liked by people, thats what I didnt have and what I dont have, but its hard to convince people into likeing you as you cant control them. That being said I think every day what can I change about myself for people to start to like me And to get out to more people than group of my 3 friends who dont have same goal for happiness as me, as they always had people who like them, heck I was this person for all of them.

After watching a good majority of this...I've come to a conclusion that this guy just has a post apocalyptic mindset. He basically says what everyone in movies and tv shows that have been through the apocalypse and have lost all empathy for other people. In his mind it is what it is and you just gotta deal with it. However, just because he has those opinions and is not afraid to speak his mind, it doesn't make him any less of an idiot when he says it.

I can understand what he's saying .ive battled depression for years and fighting still .im not on meds ,i made myself stop taking all those meds ..im still functioning ,I have my days but not a crippling crushing depression .i got off my ass,worked through the things that effected me ..i dont feel like anytbing is anyone elses fault ,i do have actual depression ..but id been tbru ALOT and had to actually becime kind of reclusive to work thru that and im doing better every day!!I wasn't born into an easy life but I've ALWAYS fought against the grain and made myself defy the odds that was given to me..iafe a conscience descision to walk when the docs told my parents i wpuldmt be able to wLj because id been born w a hip deformity..i hirt some days ..but i still do eveything I'm physically able to do ,and working towards pushing for doing more . I don't agree with EVERYTHING this guy says but I do see where hes coming from ..there are so many people that just dont care and fake ,vapid,dense,and shallow .What hes saying about some womens obcession w HAVING to have a man at your side to feel valid..ITOTALLY AGREE !! Fuck going thru hell ..I can make my way without someone at my side if it means I have to take a bunch of mistreatment and abuse to have it ,I'd rather not..I can make my own way and like my own company! Being by myself sucks sometimes ...but thirst I'M NOT !! SCREW THAT !! LOL What he says about the music industry ..is SO TRUE!! Iam gkad i took the time to actually listen to what he had to say instead of popping off at the statement he made abt depression . there are apathetic people out there that would rather use this disorder as a crutch and stay in that place ..instead of fight it and make active choices to heal .Whether it be through therapy ,medication,whatever it takes ...Ive always been someone that keeps going..pushing ..but I did come to a point where I was just TIRED , had a low period and decided "fuck this " and started working on this stuff that put me at such a low point ..my story continues..lol

Pa Vue children get depressed because society has portrayed this false fucking narrative that depression is a THING. They have done studies putting awareness build boards in cities talking about suicide guess what skyrocketed shortly afterward , suicide. Also children imitate their miserable fucking parents , it’s a vicious cycle this world is ruthless. You must save yourself by building an iron mind. Nothing external can effect the internal if built strongly enough. But i digress , this is too much responsibility to bare so take the easy way out and off yourself or be depressed.
