I was at that meeting. I was one of the people in the audience agreeing. I'm in the process of fading and while I can't say this was the trigger moment, It really confirmed things I had felt for a long time. Its crazy to find this years later.

Good for you. Start by getting yourself a King James Version bible. The New King James Version Is even more clear. The Watchtower bible (NWT) IS translated to where possible remove Jesus as SAVIOUR.

ESV and NASB are both solid translations that are more literal (word for word) as compared to the majority of others. I second the recommendation for the New King James as well, with the King James also being a beautifully worded, but somewhat more difficult translation to learn from.

The wildest thing is that his talk wasn't even outrageous or anything! Pretty much anyone else looking in would see it as completely reasonable, good advice. The cult-like aspect really showed when they freaked out over it. Having grown up in it, I was gasping and hitting my knee throughout the talk, thinking about how nervous and confused the congregation must have been feeling. It says a lot!

as a former JW, i appreciate this. last time i was in a service it was the communion service and my friend and i had just gotten born again and read... “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.” (John 6:53-55), so we ate the crakers and wine lol, we got kicked out then followed a month long of visits from the Elders, i thank God i had read scripture and stood my ground. this was in 2007, this friend is now my fiance... :)

PLEASE READ THIS! Anyone willing! Something really big is happening in the world! We are desperate to be heard because our story is true, but the elders shut down over it and won’t show love to us anymore because they are too challenged. The elders are cowards!! Ok everyone, I need everyone reading this to take it VERY seriously. I feel like I’m being tortured to death and I need you all to know what’s happened to me. Many of you reading this have already read part of my story which was the first letter to a musician named Dallas Green. Almost 5 years ago a spirit that identified itself as “Jehovah your God” told me that Dallas is my soulmate and I have been tortured over him ever since. We are being identified as the earthly lamb and earthly bride of the lamb. I am not crazy or naive! I have seen Jehovah’s face formed in the clouds, I met an angel, Erik and I saw Satan and the demons circling us in the sky like sharks. We witnessed demons gliding up from earth to join them. I saw 3 demons up close, I witnessed the celestial lights coming down from heaven. I had the privilege of touch healing through prayer like the apostles had. I’ve witnessed more miracles than I can mention. (But many of them are listed in my blog posts) At some point Jehovah took over me (my body moves and I have no control over it and this can be proven) and drove me to Dallas Green’s house here in Nashville and made me watch him move away, on top of having me run into him other times. I am legit being tortured over this man and I have no idea why. Jehovah has been so ugly to me that I don’t know if I am going to survive this. He’s been so ruthless. He won’t even let Erik keep a job. I live so stressed out and I am completely broken to the point that I can’t function like a normal human anymore. I’m becoming soulless because Jehovah has taken it from me. I had to disappear from my life because of this and I’m finally sounding the alarm!!! I need something from all of you because this situation is real and I need you all to know about it. Imagine this: Jehovah isn’t happy with Jehovah’s witnesses or their disfellowshipping arrangement, so he chooses to use a stupid little disfellowshipped woman and a worldly man with tattoos. He says he isn’t going to use the governing body like they think. He keeps saying he gave it to a stupid woman instead and that he isn’t going to do it their way he’s doing this HIS WAY. The elders and the organization are rejecting us because they are so sure of themselves. They are treating me like I am apostate and my parents even changed their numbers without letting me have the new ones. I am being so badly hurt I need you all to know. If this kills me I need for you all to get this information to Dallas Green and make sure he knows what I have been enduring. Tear up social media with hashtags and my story or something until he knows. (Find him through “City and Colour” or “Alexisonfire” or “You + Me”) And someone please be sure that I have a decent funeral if God finally let’s me die. I know I can’t count on Jehovah’s witnesses for that. They are true assholes and I’m thrilled Jehovah is gonna call them out. It just sucks to be his personal bitch for years. I’m so broken from it all. I’m sorry I disappeared but I needed to protect you all from this and I needed to protect myself from all of you not believing and thinking I’m crazy. A wise Christian brother told me that the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is so simple that you would have to have someone help you misunderstand it ! That has stuck with me for many years. Also you can see that a doctrine that is false by a math equation. If you add to or take away from Jesus ! Very simple, but Very True ! So thankful for the work that you are doing. I've never been a JW, but have a burden for many years to share the Gospel with them. I am so thankful that my wife has excepted salvation from Jesus and left the JW organization !

I too, by the grace and mercy of God, got out several years ago!! Actually, I wanted out within a year of getting in this heretical cult! I knew something was wrong with their teachings, and all I heard was. "Oh, you just need to be humble, and follow the "Governing Body" Sure, I had studied their literature, and got decieved-they know how to twist scripture, that's a fact. After years of prayers and brokenness, I wrote my letter to the Elders, and disassociated myself from their lies! God got me through this, yes, I've suffered personally family loss because of leaving this cult, but more so, I have God and my Saviour, Jesus Christ, who will never let me go!!

@@Paulohlsson7 I am doing fine our family are just trying to stay safe one of our employees adult daughter tested positive but he and wife tested negative but worry as my husbands construction company has various subs working but most are being safe as you can be with distancing. I have business submitting building permits for individuals and businesses but one office worker got COVID so now whole office is in quarantine so not permits being processed. Strange times but I am sure JW are ecstatic this maybe the end, can remembering many many moons ago having that thought when something major happened. Take care

Top man! (naturally, he's a bass player!). Very interesting. My late grandmother was a JW since the 50's or early 60's. Caused a lot of pain in the family. She tried to bring me up in the faith but I just couldn't accept it,the older I got. Blind faith is (potentially) lethal. So much of my childhood was spent on Field Service, Book Studies, meetings at the Kindom Hall, conventions etc. Sad. Thanks so much for posting.

I remember this video and Damn...I actually loved this talk. I left in 1993 and it was very rare to see a good talk that didn't put me to sleep. lol My pop was an elder and he always gave that taboo sex talk if anyone remembers that. Nobody ever wanted to give that talk but my dad was always like yeah I'll do it and of course everyone in the circuit found out and so my Pop was always invited all across the city and surrounding cities even an hour or two away to give this talk and my pop was the best at it. Even I was always like cool....not a boring talk. So yeah I get it. So when I saw the video of this gentleman giving his talk I was like "Hmmm..." I like this guy and then when they took him off stage I was like...ahhhhhh. But now I get to see this interview and love it. Awesome Pawsome! A+++ Thumbs Up!

I am soooo glad and thankful to those who really taught me the real Jesus, got me to join the Baptist Doctrine (I was raised as a Catholic) and from there I learned to accept other Christian doctrines (like Pentecostals, 😮) who really follow Jesus Christ. I was warned good enough at an early age not to fall for the corrupted JW doctrine, even tjough I had several good friends from school and the neighborhood who were JW, and it saddens me to understand years later that most of them are still in that cult. Praise Jesus for saving my soul, by just a simple act of confessing that 😊 Jesus is Lord and my personal Savior.

@God is Love Really??? Please, I guarantee you can not show me one scripture where Jesus the Son of God uttered the word "JEHOVAH." Please go to the Greek and prove to us all what you are saying. The fact is if you do some research on jw.org you will find written and video proof where the governing body members admit and aknowlege the Jehovah is actually not God's name, but they started using that name because it was the name people knew of. Yes, we are waking up! Many of us who were in for decades are finally being enlightened and when we get out from the WT cult indoctrination we can develop our real personalities being liberated from the high control, the fear-mongering, the obligation-burdening, the guilt-tripping, the shame-blaming and emotional blackmail Watchtower imposed and enmeshed upon us - or in my case, walked into at age 20 in 1992 at an extremely vulnerable, susceptible time of my life as my Mom was dying from a 12-year battle with lymphoma cancer.

Oooooohhhh! Just seeing this Tuesday October 6th morning! SO glad for you to get together with Don Kennedy Albert!!! I was literally just waking up from being a 25 year "walk-in" JW when one of the first "apostate" videos I came across late 2016/early 2017 was THIS one with Don getting invited to give a public talk with those elders unknowing he had been out since 2008. This was SO enlightening and at the same time revealing and entertaining - yet Don did a seriously outstanding, kind, loving and spectacular job with this talk. Don's a good musician and so very open-minded, respectful and balanced. Spoke to my heart! Well done interview with Don's recollections as many of us "brothers" who were "ministerial servants" often got "used" a lot when we were "reaching out"! LOL! Thanks so much for having Don and THANK YOU Don for helping assist many of us with your kindness, humility and love to awaken!!! You exemplify the fruitages of the spirit in your humanity!! That SO resonates with me as being from Chicago there were MANY apartment buildings we did door-to-door work in and Don is spot on about the fact that it was an education FOR US as JW's and we said very similar things to ourselves with similar feelings of "our defenses going up" as we were trained to do by Watchtower. Yes,I remember how devastated I was when I realized I had been believing and living a HUGE lie, that the JW’s were a cult, and I was trying to teach this to others. The question of how this could happen to me was the worst. I was just a young lonely girl (20) and trying to find the true God. Has anybody realized that 30 thumbs down for this video. How much do you want to bet that these are Jehovah's witnesses not wanting you to come out and speak the truth about them. Let me just say this I'm a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ I love him so very much I believe that he is God In the flesh and I'm always going to believe that the Trinity is not pagan folks, neither is Christmas neither is Easter neither is celebrating birthdays or anything like that. The reason why Jehovah's witnesses are the way that they are is because they've known that they have spoken lies and deceit, that's why there's 30 thumbs Down. I'm going to give several descriptions of their own New world translation refuting itself and proving beyond a doubt that the New world translation refutes their notion and them saying Jesus is not God, when actually in their own New world translation it says that he is here's just a snippet. The Uncreated Creator in John 1:1 Looking just at the wording of the New World Translation, what do we see about Jesus? Let’s take a look at the verse again: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god,” (John 1:1, NWT). Even if we pretend, just for the sake of argument, that this could be an accurate translation, it leaves us with more questions than answers. If the Word is a god, which god is the Word supposed to be? And what sort of god? By itself, this clause does not tell us. But the verse as a whole gives us an important clue. Instead of the final words, look at the opening words: “In the beginning was the Word.” It does not say, “In the beginning the Word came into being” or “In the beginning God created the Word.” It says that in the beginning the Word already “was.” In the beginning, the Word is already there. The Word does not have a beginning. Rather, the Word is already present in the beginning. Such a phrase implies an uncreated being. If someone were to say “In the beginning was Jehovah,” such a phrase would not imply that Jehovah was a created being. It would point to the exact opposite of that. So, too, when such a phrase is applied to the Word. Notice what the passage says immediately afterward: “This one was in the beginning with God,” (John 1:2, NWT). In the same way that God “was” in the beginning, so too the Word “was” in the beginning. Driving the point home, the next verse explains: “All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence,” (John 1:3, NWT). Note that all things came into existence through Him. Indeed, not even one thing came into existence except through Him. If The Word were Himself a creation, this would be utter nonsense! He could not come into existence through Himself. If He came into existence, He would be one thing that came into existence that did not come into existence through the Word. But the verse here is emphatic: not even one thing came into existence apart from Him. When we ask which god the Word is, we must say that He is the eternal, uncreated creator. He is the God who brought all things into being and who Himself had no beginning. How many gods meet that description? The God of Israel As we continue reading in the passage, we find that it also says of the Word: “He came to his own home, but his own people did not accept him,” (John 1:11, NWT). To whom did “The Word” (i.e., Jesus) come? Who were His own people that did not accept Him? They were the Jewish people, of course. Jesus is the God whose people are the Jews. How many gods are there that can claim the Jewish people as their own people? Only one. The Jews had but one God. Jehovah did not share His covenant people with some other lesser god. No other god could call them “his own people.” So, if Jesus is “a god.” Which god? He is the uncreated creator whose own people were the Jews. Jesus is Jehovah. Pouring Out the Holy Spirit As we continue reading the chapter, we are told of the prophet John and his testimony about Jesus. “Even I did not know him, but the very One who sent me to baptize in water said to me: ‘Whoever it is upon whom you see the spirit coming down and remaining, this is the one who baptizes in holy spirit,’” (John 1:33, NWT). Jesus is the one who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. But who is that, exactly? What is that supposed to tell us? And it is not only here that John the Baptist tells us this but John also says this same thing about Jesus in all of the other gospels as well! “I baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the holy spirit,” (Mark 1:8 NWT, see also Matthew 3:11 and Luke 3:16). Jesus reaffirms the point Himself just before ascending into heaven, and He makes it clear that it was fulfilled when the Spirit was poured out on the Apostles and early Christians just after that time: “for John, indeed, baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the holy spirit not many days after this,” (Acts 1:5, NWT). Why is it so important to know that Jesus is the one who was to pour out the Holy Spirit? Peter explains this in Acts chapter 2: “These people are, in fact, not drunk, as you suppose, for it is the third hour of the day. On the contrary, this is what was said through the prophet Joel ‘And in the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out some of my spirit on every sort of flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy and your young men will see visions and your old men will dream dreams,'” (Acts 2:15-17, NWT). When Jesus poured out the Spirit on His followers, He was fulfilling an Old Testament prophecy where God promised to pour out the Holy Spirit on His people. So, Jesus did something that God Himself had promised to do. Who is the one who was to pour out the Holy Spirit? God was! And which God? Let’s look at Joel’s prophecy and see: “And you will have to know that I am in the midst of Israel And that I am Jehovah your God-there is no other! My people will never again be put to shame. After that I will pour out my spirit on every sort of flesh, And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, And your young men will see visions,” (Joel 2:27-28, NWT). It is not merely some generic god speaking here, it is Jehovah by name. He explicitly says that there is no other God and then says that He will pour out the Spirit on all flesh. So, Jesus is the one who was supposed to pour out the Spirit. The one who was supposed to pour out the Spirit was Jehovah God Himself. Therefore, Jesus is Jehovah God. now if they knew any of this which they say they do then they would know that Jesus is the true and living God. He's not a god he is God. they say that Jesus didn't create all things but yet in the New world translation the 2013 edition I might add says that he is the creator of all things and that the word was, it doesn't say in the beginning the word was created by God or that the word was created in the beginning no it says in the beginning was the word meaning that the word is eternal just like God is eternal the word has always been with God and is God. The New world translation is not even a true translation just like the book of Mormon is not even true either, it's a perverse version of the Bible to fit their own literature.
