@scottmeredith33595 сағат бұрын
Maybe he shouldn’t have planted so many doubts in the minds of RB management. Trying to kill Daniel on a cooldown lap can’t have helped the case that he can deal with his team favoring the other driver, which would happen all the time at Redbull.

I don't understand why people expected redbull to pick yuki over liam. Yuki was apart of VCARB (RB) due to the honda deal they had with red bull. With that gone in 2026 why would red bull bother with yuki when they can invest in liam? And honda will be looking to get him a seat with a team using the honda engine like aston martin or Cadillac.

Happy for Liam, hope his career doesn’t die in the cradle because the F1 press can’t help themselves questioning why he isn’t beating Max. Yuki dug his own grave over the last four years, clearly stats alone don’t erase the concerns they have over the apparent lack of self control Yuki has shown. Even this season Yuki nearly plowed into his teammate deliberately on a cooldown lap over team orders, that doesn’t exactly demonstrate self constraint.
@ijmad4 сағат бұрын
Yuki's seat is funded by Honda. RBR seem him as the Honda guy. Honda and RBR are done in 2026. It's not difficult to understand why he's never getting promoted to the top team.

Yuki is way better than Liam and deserves a seat. A guy with 7 races will not perform in a redbull.
@anselmjonathan85986 сағат бұрын
I think it is pretty clear that Yuki wasn't considered to be mature enough even though he became more mature over the past two seasons. Liam Lawson was super impressive in wheel to wheel battles the first two races he jumped into the car. Listening to Horner's interview which was published yesterday the key differentiator seemed to be mentality as the most important quality to race alongside Max Verstappen. And no one can deny that he has that and also is very talented - let's just see what he'll be able to do alongside Max next season. And to all who say it's a betrayal to Yuki: If he doesn't get promoted after four years then RB most likely have their reasons apart from his bonds with Honda.
@RCRitterFPV5 сағат бұрын
agreed, Marko wrote him off a long time ago and once he makes a decision... he's stubborn. he would be too aggressive against Max. Lawson understands the politics and pecking order...
@scottmeredith33595 сағат бұрын
So mature he damn near plowed his car into Ricciardo on a cooldown lap this season over team orders. The “maturity” element is too little too late. Claiming he’s matured is recency bias… he only seemed to TRY and chill out when it dawned on him 3.5 years into F1 that maybe Redbull would promote him if he could show some self control. The damage was already done by then.

Yuki'stans remember this.. Honda is why Yuki exists in RBR/VCarb, Honda is leaving in '25 for Aston in '26. 4 years, yes, and yes he beat Dani Ric and DeVries and yes he did beat Liam. His time over Liam was factional, as in .006 average pace difference. His average pace against Dani Ric and Nyck was .2 - .5 . In his 4 years he couldn't get much more over Liam who's had 11 races and was just throw into it. I promise you don't know more than what RedBull/VCarb know. No matter what you may think you know.

It's a very big task to go into his first full season in the RedBull, nobody else has really had to do that. I do like Liam Lawson a lot, and I hope he does well and proves everyone wrong, but it almost feels too tall a task for him to be very competitive probably as fast as they'll want him to. I don't think it's fair everyone hating on him so soon, RB clearly never considered Yuki, they'll say it's because of his ties with Honda but they just don't want him, I think people need to realise that. I hope he's able to survive alongside Max, it'd be quite sad to see him crack under all this pressure, if anything I hope he can be a good teammate, rack up a few wins and just be consistent, sadly whoever joins alongside Max will never be the teams priority, so I hope he does as well as he can.
@MichaelSchumacherfan915 сағат бұрын
Well he's going into a much quicker car he's moved from very low midfield 2 at the front so I expect Lawson 2 be 5th 4th maybe a podium here and then cause Red Bull at best want their 2nd driver 2 have a good season they wouldn't want any 2nd driver 2 have a great or biblical season then that means it's taking 2 much away from their golden boy Verstappen and Lawson needs 2 prove he's got talent and can be at the front because if he's just another Perez then he's gone by gone quickly
