What I choose to take from this professional video is the dedication, sacrifices, and discipline, the men and women on the USS Anzio demonstrate everday for our nation. Brooke is proud of her former class-mate, the entire crew, and deeply respects their mission and so do I. I served in the US Army, but still reverence their service on that ship. Brook left CNN and the USS Anzio is on the list for decom. (with China barking?). I say keep Anzio until the rudders fall off. Great video!

Mark Ri is it it really that tough on a ship? On an average, how many ports do you see while being out at sea?
@amitroiu
@amitroiu 5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the type of deployment, usually there's a restock on the sea... but again, it depends on the mission. In 9 months I have had only 2 ports to stop in for 4 days in each, and that was it.
@michaelorshantelc1016
@michaelorshantelc1016 5 жыл бұрын
i was on a ship last year also, and when you are away from your family for most of the year every day is hard. Sometimes you can email them and sometimes you better learn how to write a letter. Ports depend on the mission needed. I was luckier than Alex, I got off the ship every 45 days in the 8.5 months. And some ships are even more dangerous then the one shown here. Always have to be on your toes, head on a swivel. Be aware of your surroundings. And try not to worry about those you left behind at home.

This is one of the best storylines I have ever seen. Having spent a one year tour homeported in Bahrain these sailors show their commitment to our country and family. FWFS

Great reporting! I spent almost 3 years on an aircraft carrier(Navy’s Cadillac Ship) 33 years ago and I’ve never had a day go by without thinking about it and how much I enjoyed it. Go Navy! MM3 Pup.

+Gordan Popvic They are not directly defending the US but they are maintaining the presence of the US in the world. And what do you mean killing innocent kids? The US military is very civilized. Especially compared to others. No US Marine walks up to a house and starts executing everyone inside.

Hooah! From this soldier to all deployed Seamen, Airmen, Grunts and even the Coast Guard...ONE TEAM, ONE FIGHT!!! Friendship last beyond this lifetime / removes barriers of inequalities/ forges families together and stretches beyond boarders. This is a good example of such...
