Hey man, great interview and best of luck with the channel. Getting Magnus on is a good start :) (if I was to make a small suggestion, maybe the camera is too close or zoomed in to the subject, it'd feel more natural if it was a bit further out)

Hi ❤ Thank you! Sjakksnakk is mainly on audio based platforms, but we are talking about expanding to KZbin. A new camera setup must be in place for that, I totally agree. This one is optimised for shorts and reels. Thanks for your praise and engagement ❤

I doubt Carlsen will be the clear and dominant #1 in the world over the next five years. I think its becoming painfully obvious that Carlsen already has one foot outside of the elite circles of chess. He talks about Fischerandom and faster time formats but that's just an excuse to walk away from the level of prep required to play classical. My guess is that Carlsen will be just another top 10 player within the next three years (2024-2027) at which point he'll just make occasional/guest appearances at elite events. At that point we might have another clear #1 and dominant chess player from the younger generation. I don't blame him though. I'm sure a lot of sacrifices have to be made from a very young age to become the generational talent like him. At some point people just want to enjoy life.
@LesChats19916 ай бұрын
Haha, yeah right.
@MimeLau-uz2ohАй бұрын
1- Carlsen didn't say he will be a clear #1 the next five years. He said he will be at least a contender. It's hard to say he wouldn't be. He's still at this time clearly the best. How big is the margin with the new gen ? nobody knows. 2- I don't think it's an excuse. Carlsen clearly mentionned well earlier his revulsion for classical and gave up the WC when there were absolutely no threat for him, before Gukesh, Arjun, Prag, Abdusatorov arrival (for the moment, not sure they are a threat though, we'll see next few years). The lonely who had a really good potential in that time was Alireza. And Magnus clearly said he would have been compete if he'd won the candidate in 2022. Saying, he will be just a top 10 player within the three next years is really really weird. I think all you're saying can be apply for Caruana. But for the moment, Carlsen is still better than the new gen. He will be just a #1 who doesn't compete much at classical or at least top 3 within the next 3 years if some of them really confirm their potential. Top 10 is almost an insult for one of the best, maybe the best of all time who's not an old man yet.
