Got mine finally, a month after getting my M4 iPad Pro 13. The case is sweeeeet! Price paid was not at all bothersome to me given the value of the iPad it is protecting.

I only really use apples silicon case because it’s been the best magnetic attachment. I actually don’t much like apples because it’s a dust, smudge and fingerprint magnet. But as I use a magnetic stand at home to connect to monitor for “desktop” mode and use a Smart Keyboard Folio at work and school for laptop mode, it really needed to be magnetic so I can easily switch between modes. So I’m excited for this as it’s magnetic but also a different material so won’t be as blah and will feel different too

Ah yes, you can see from the small clip in the video how dirty the apple case gets (it was my friend's clip). Magnetic is definitely the way to go for me too! Let me know how you find the PaperLike case!

I have this case and the similar ESR case and I don't know how anyone could recommend spending three+ times as much for this Paperlike folio. The ESR does everything this expensive case does at a fraction of the cost (currently $19 vs $70) including the pen flap magnetically holding to both the back of the case as well as the folded-back cover. The big problem with the Paperlike is that the magnets that hold the Pencil flap closed over the Pencil are not aligned correctly so the flap is barely holding on. Without a Pencil the flap lays closer to the fold, where the magnet is, and it's much more secure feeling that way. The ESR case does not have this problem. And, as you point out, in a mere two months your very expensive Paperlike case is already fraying. Color me not impressed at all.

Thank you for reviewing 👌🏻 Just got an email from Paperlike about it, and considering it. The smart Apple Pencil ✏️ holder is nice to have for sure! As for durability of the Apple iPad Pro smart covers, I’m not impressed. The outer layer has started peeling off 😔

That's how long my ESR case lasted, maybe 2 years before it started peeling so I think 18 months isn't a great amount of time for a case to last

What iPad model do you have? I always wanted a folio with a latch to cover the pencil. I like my Apple Smart Folio but securing the pencil is tricky. I also read a lot of books and annotate pdfs on my iPad. Does the cover magnetize to the back when you fold it open like a book?

I have the 2018 iPad pro model. Sounds like this case would fit your needs! The cover itself does not magnetise when you fold it back but the pencil latch thing does so you can use that to essentially magnetise the front cover to the back

@@DoctorDevify love it! I love how SLIM it it! The only ONE thing I’d recommend the company is to have the case cover the sides of the iPad, other than that it’s great and more worth $45-$50. Not $75

I received the PaperLike marketing release email yesterday and ordered straightaway, price compared to Apple is great and whilst its not in the Amazon cheapo range (hoping the quality is also greater), the Apple Pencil covering was enough in my purchasing decision to grab one. Great review and thankfully it didn't sway my decision.

@@DoctorDevify I really like it, the look and feel reminds me of an old drafting notebook I used to use. The pencil covering is great as it doesnt allow detachment in my bag, or get knocked on the side if its charging in my bag. The only criticism I have is I dont like the gap when the pencil cover attaches to the back first.

That's mad, paperlike told me they used fabric to make it look like a notebook! Do you mean the overhanging bit on the side of the iPad or the gap between the covering and the case when it is attached to the back

@@DoctorDevify They nailed their brief then, it certainly has that notebook look and feel. The gap is present when the pencil cover attaches to the back before the main screen one, it may diminish as those hinges become more worn-in but time will tell. Overall I'm really pleased with it and would choose this over the Apple version every time.

looks like a cool case but dealbreaker for me if I can't detach the ipad easily from the case as I love using up my ipad with no case when i'm lying in bed or gaming. Although your case seems to offer more protection so you win some you lose some
