To all the newbs saying “we were top in pass attempts!” As if that’s bad. Kansas City had more and they’re the #1 Seed. The difference between Top5 and Bottom 10 is 2 passes. Top 5 was 34+ bottom 10 is 32+. That’s just piss poor analysis to think trading two passes for two runs changes anything when we couldn’t block on any play

Yea. Statistics and math are tough for some peopke. Look at how effective we were on the run plays called, and you have your answer. When 3rd and 1 is a weakness, pass attempts aren't your problem. I remember several games where we ran the ball multiple times in 3rd and 1 and 4 + 1 situations and failed every single time. But hey, I guess we should just keep running the ball so we look like we have a more balanced offense.

That made our offense predictable, the reason KC can do it is obvious. Difference being our offense and QB weren't good enough to get away with it.

I certainly hope they draft O line before receiver. You can have the greatest receiver in the NFL; what good is that if the QB gets flattened with an 8 yard loss 50% of the time? Or they go 3 and out in less than 60 seconds, which Seattle has done all too often?

He’s been getting away with average at best results since we had one or two good drafts early in his career with Pete Carroll which was over a decade ago. How many times did we watch this team line up in 3rd or 4th and short and NOT be able to pick it up. In fact, how many of those times did we LOSE YARDAGE? A lot. How many times were we 1st and goal inside the 5 and were unable to run for the score? Then add up how many times defenders were in the backfield to nearly take the handoff. This OL had to be EASILY bottom 10 in the league, if not bottom 5. Geno AND our RBs were amazing at dodging defenders that SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN THE BACKFIELD. It is amazing we were able to overcome this CRITICAL weakness for a 10-7 record. So - is it ANY surprise we ran less and passed more? NOT AT ALL. Our average 3rd down distance must have been atrocious! I am not sure how you can FAIRLY evaluate the QB, RB’s when he line play was so bad. Or the OC for that matter. What play do you call when your OL can’t block?

And if they weren’t communicating, that’s Mike’s fault. Not Ryan’s. The Seahawks had a 10 win season, and they tied with LA for the top spot. Seriously, Man, if Mike wants Seahawks to runs the ball, he got a lot of work to do. First is your offensive tackle line is no as good, so as defensive line. You can’t win a Super Bowl by running the ball, you need to have a good WR to mix with Metcaft and JSN. Second, keep Smith for at least 2 more years before you draft a new youngster QB.

I'm not sold on MacDonald. He's probably an elite defensive mind, but not sure about his ability to lead men. He basically had a nervous breakdown here trying to explain what he's looking for in an offense. And I get it, I'm not a fan of conflict either. I hate letting friends and colleagues down, but you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.
@mikeswinhart7160
@mikeswinhart7160 16 күн бұрын
I don't think he was having a nervous breakdown. I think he didn't want to publicly air out what he's looking for and then everyone saying, "Grubb wanted the complete opposite". There are different ways to win offensively, and Grubb could be a fit somewhere else. Publicly airing specifics could negatively affect Grubb's opportunities. Macdonald isn't a leader of men because he won't give details to the media/the world? Yeah okay 😂 There's a coach out there specifically known for not giving any concrete info/vision to media/public that has a few SB wins. So if it's that coach 2.0 here with Macdonald, I'll take it 😂

He could have learned something from Pete Carroll to help him become a more complete coach. IMO he should have been hire as the defensive coordinator and in a few years maybe givin an opportunity. We lost to the Giants for crying out loud a team that had no business being in a game with us or anybody really. We dominated them last year in their house 24-3.

@@alexgrandii2870 Mac did well for his rookie season as a head coach but 1.Our division is weaker then it's been in many many years. A Pete Carroll lead team probably goes undefeated through the division 2. We lost to the Giants the worst team in the league. 3. We almost lost to the Jets, Bears, and Patriots. That should have been 10 wins right there then Miami without Tua and an Atlanta team that was ok should have been 12. Not at all like the gauntlet we had to run through last year in the AFC North which is still the best division. They'll run the ball and have gnarly defenses our Achilles. The Lions and Viks are really good but as far as the NFC North goes it's all smoke and mirrors as they matched up with the 2 most pathetic divisions in the NFC West and AFC South and smoked them. 4. Every quarterback that has played under Carroll has played his best football under Carroll Geno wasn't bad but probably plays just a little better especially in the turn over department. I feel very comfortable going forward with Mac I just didn't agree with the timing Jodie Allen could have bought both Mac to be our d coordinator and fellow Washingtonian Kellen Moore to run our offense with her vast wealth. That would have been really really smart

How bout the o-line line coach, ?, you need to develop these young guys, and quit flopping them In and out of play, trying to figure them out, a good o-line is unity, and continuity, they play better as a solid unit, knowing what each player or the guy next to him , is gonna do, rather than a mix and match, which We have been witnessing the last 5 years,🤐

If you can execute properly it doesn’t matter if the defense knows what is coming - we just COULD NOT get any consistent OL play, except BAD OL play. Defenders were CONSTANTLY in the backfield on both running and passing downs. PFF says our QB was under pressure 40% of the time while passing! We ranked 30th out of 32 TEAMS in OL play. Add in the ridiculous amount of motion/shift/offside penalties so you started with long field. A recipe for trouble. And just what play do you call when you can’t pass-block and you can’t run block guys?

Grubb helps you to 10 wins, you got no OL push in order to run it, Geno throws 8 red zone INT's but Grubb is the problem? Nah man. Grubb had no problem running the ball at UDub, he only chose to pass a little bit more because he had MICHAEL PENIX.

Grubb had Talent at UW. Most OC look good with a bunch of talent to coach. Grubs formations and play calling were predictable at the NFL level. The talent level wasn't there to bail him out. Saying all the picks are on Geno could be only partially true depending on the play calling.

@@Jaxsov Simple instead of working with Grubb he fired him rather then take responsibility for the O line issues, which considering the line sucked and that hampered what the OC had to work with they should have worked on the line problems and given Grubb another season. MacDonald is a first year HC and rather than tell his boss the real issues he took the weasel way out and sacrificed his OC. Considering how well Grubb did with a middle tier QB and a suspect line he deserved another season.
