I had the privilege of coaching alongside this incredible guy at Cedar Shoals High School (GA). I absolutely admire his coaching style and philosophy and hope to learn from him someday or be apart of his team, on the sideline or in the front office. Even back then, you could tell he was ahead of his time-like a cheat code on the sidelines, thanks to his brilliance and unmatched preparation. To the Seattle Seahawks fan base: hang in there-you’ve got one phenomenal head coach leading your team! Great channel @SeattleSports

I’ve been very impressed with how McD recognizes what isn’t working, and immediately learns from it, then fixes what isnt working. He saw the FA lbs were not the right fit systematically, immediately released or traded. I still think theres a bit more to the center that retired mid season. Based on no research, facts or rumors. I think McD saw the 7th bad snap for a loss of 15-20, and told the guy your not starting because i dont think your healthy enough physically and/or mentally from the injury the year prior. First day Grubb is let go. They clearly were not on the same page of the whole are running backs actual entities that exist and inhabit the same universe as us, or merely government conspiracies like Flat Earth, birds aren’t real type stuff. I absolutely believe we hired the correct head coach. He seems very accountable, genuine. And processes information very well.

An excellent HC for decades to come in this league. I know for many, it felt like Pete got the shaft (which he kinda did) but that wasn't going to last forever, and guys like Mike McDonald don't grow on trees. He would have been gone, and in another year or 5, when Pete finally decided to hang it up, we most likely would have ended up with a coach that is no where near the talent of Coach Mike.

Schneider struggles to build an offensive line. Definitely lacking in that area. Either his scouts are bad or his talent evaluation has some major flaws. Schneider has not had a good offensive line since they traded Max Unger a long long time ago. The real problem stems from Schneider and his scouts incapable of finding offensive line talent and drafting them. That’s the whole issue.

You’re leaving out the possibility that he has acquired talent on the line, but they haven’t been good fits for previous offensive regimes. Fit is an incredibly important aspect to production. It’s why random players like sam darnold can go from a universally agreed bust to the leader of a 14-3 team. Also why players like Leonard Williams can have all-pro seasons 10 years into the league, after being out of New York for 1 full year

30 teams are scrambling to find linemen. It’s not a Seattle isolated issue. Apparently the hard fact is that there just aren’t enough quality/qualified talent on the market and it’s complicated by once you find that talent, will they be a fit? Seattle requires a level of intellect and violence from linemen that is not going to be simple to find. One man did not create this problem and one guy isn’t going to fix it. A lot of moving parts to resolving linemen issues. It starts with a culture of developing talent eg: Philadelphia. Go Hawks

Grubb s a phenomenal OC, and his passing game records, 10 nfl wins, and what Geno / Njigba were able to accomolish show that. With a non .500 qb Seattle could have easily won another game or 3. But there s a big fundamental difference between Harbaugh's offenses and Grubb s. He should get picked up fast coaching a non power run based team. Too bad tho, since Grubb and Deboer opened eyes nation wide showing everyone what that offense could actually do

@oompaloompa7430
@oompaloompa7430 16 күн бұрын
Really think firing Grubb was the wrong decision. Stupid. Grubb managed to create an offense capable of winning with a decidedly weak running game. Just because Seattle starting having better run gam success later in the season doesn't mean that that's the offensive coordinator's fault. A offensive coordinator can only be as good as his players enable him to be. With a comparatively weak O line that gave up a ton of sacks and didn't create lanes for Ken Walker, a small runningback better at speed and agility rather than sheer force, and a QB who regularly throws interceptions, Grubb made the best with what he had. Anyone who sees things differently in that regard should go back and rewatch the games. Grubb came to the seahawks with the experience of having helped get the Huskies to the college championship game. He is a good offensive coordinator. He may have had a tough approach to a bunch of pre-madonna football players who want their coaches to kiss their butts every day, and the players may have not liked that. But I don't think Grubb was Seattle's problem. I think Mike MacDonald was a big part of the problem and he was looking to blame Grubb for Seattle's offensive problems, most of which aren't Grubb's fault, per se. A OC can only be as good as his players. Schneider got MacDonald all kinds of players throughout the season to make the defense better. What did Grubb get? Nothing. So when they are blaming Grubb for the offense not performing, I think a big part of that is the personnel. Seattle has key offensive players but they are missing some important pieces necessary to have the ability to consistently run or pass the ball. Grubb made the best of what he was given. Totally not fair to treat the offensive side differently than the defensive side. Of course the defense will get better when you go out and get better players. Grubb didn't get the support he deserved from Schneider, so I feel like he shouldn't get the blame for the results not being what everybody wanted. You get what you pay for. The defense got support but the offense didn't. And the results are what they are. I don't blame Grubb, I blame MacDonald and Schneider.
@mannyvelasco9549
@mannyvelasco9549 16 күн бұрын
I get what you are saying but grubb saw the oline is weak and still decided to call long developing plays in spite of it. I’ve seen grubb at uw and while he has an amazing passing attack he lacks balance. The oline does play a big part but him not being able to adjust to his personnel is also not good. I still think grubb is a great coach but college definitely suits him better for that spread offense. Also I just think Mikes and Grubbs philosophies for what they want to do on offense is different. It’s not a bad thing they just don’t fit together and that’s okay it was worth a shot with grubb.

Trade away DK, does not have route discipline, does not have a natural feel for the ball, too many dropped passes, too many fumbles. Trade away Kenneth Walker, when he runs at full effort he gets injured, at 9 tenths effort he is not effective. Draft or trade for OL personnel. Consider Geno but look at QB opportunities. Nice job getting a worse draft pick, by winning a meaningless game.

Our draft position wouldn’t have changed if we had lost and you really think coaches and players want to lose and not get to ten wins?

Playoffs seem rigged to me. Rams, Steelers, Texans, Broncos, and Buccaneers make the playoffs but Seahawks don't and they're all 10-7 the same as the Seahawks.

It's all about the one game we should have one Giants at home 11 6 would have done it but the rams game would of probably been different next yr GO HAWKS

As much as I love player/coach content… unless the staff is drastically changed to fit McDonald’s personality then it’s just a miss. It might get the views because it’s Seahawks content, but it’s all together cringe. The way it is to me is like McDonald’s gets the joy of answering to Salk every postgame just feels more demoralizing. McDonald’s had to put up with enough this season. I hope next year he doesn’t do this show and takes a more sarcastic approach to the talking heads until they ask genuinely good questions with a more positive approach. Maybe moving the show to midweek to be able to move past the week before with less spotlight casted over McDonald, but also be looking to the next week to help move the conversation along better. Idk but I just feel like the dude needs to be left alone for a bit. New kid, finished a whirlwind season… just give the guy some space.

Yeah, you're a ridiculous football fan.. you blame the quarterback who's constantly under siege because of a comically putrid interior offensive line. Go root for another team.

Even though I think Grubb wasn't great, I think a retooled OL and a true #1 RB would have made a huge difference. I personally don't understand why people don't see the fact Walker doesn't have the size to be a pounding RB.
