He'll get this thing figured out. I'm confident in that. I hate losing, and I get pissed myself watching them lose. But John Schneider made the right choice in Macdonald to be our coach, and he's inherited the team that Pete Carroll created. There are extremely good players on the team. But not every one of them are good, and not all of them are good for Coach Mike Macdonalds defense or Grubbs offense or Huffs offensive line. They are working with what they have, and hopefully, we get most of our injured players back to healthy where they can contribute. Especially at RT and in the middle of the DL. But through draft and trade Mike will start to get his type of players in. Same with Grubb and Huff and they will eventually get this thing right. I have to believe that.

On top of that, Schneider failed to bring in one more OT both in preseason and after Fant was injured so we wouldn't get stuck with Forsythe at OT. Forsythe is not an NFL quality OT. Plus entire O-line except Cross is underperforming.

Interior OL is definitely a weakness but Cross and Lucas were draft hits, Lucas just has bad injury luck. That can't always be predicted. He's hit on most of his other draft picks all across the board regardless of position. Are running backs are really good, our secondary is still pretty good. We haven't really drafted much at linebacker other than later rounds and you get what you get there. There are a lot worse GM's out there for sure.

I want more internal leadership to develop. I was a little concerned about that when Mike wasn’t able to name 3 or 4 full time team captains at the beginning of the year but instead he has opted for new captains each week. I Would like to see #99, #21, #14, #7 and #4 earn those spots with their play and professionalism. I was disappointed in Geno’s comments in his post game speech. He had 30 minutes to think about it and still said what he did. I want to see Dreads Geno who is calm and collected while cool under pressure. The next couple of weeks will speak a lot to the character of the team and who is going to be here in the future.

I think you're reading too much into the week by week captains thing. There's a leadership committee that is made up of the leaders who would be season-long captains on the team, and the weekly captains method exists as an opportunity to recognize guys who are doing good things who wouldn't normally be captains. Doesn't seem to be an issue of not being able to name captains due to a lack of merit.

I question if the effort is truly there, the only person on the offense that didn't look utterly defeated with 5 minutes to go and a 12 point deficit was Geno. Even the announcers were pointing out the Seahawks needed to hustle if they wanted to win the game because they were not hustling, less than 3 minutes to go and they burnt an entire minute off the clock doing literally nothing. They handed the ball back to the 49ers with 1 minute 44 seconds to go, even if the defense made a huge stop they wouldn't have had time to come back, talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Exact same thing happened against the Giants, it's a problem that needs to be fixed.

I’ve always been a geno fan, but something changed last night watching him on the sideline smashing his tablet into his head like a child throwing a temper tantrum 🤨 Still rooting for him and the team, but it just didn’t sit right with me. Julian gave up two td’s. Idk if he has that dawg in him. The refs no calls and bad calls have been insane. They have been incredibly bad this year. I feel like online betting is having a role in game management with the referees. I don’t care who we have to trade… get us an O-line. No sense in having all these skill players if we can’t win at the line of scrimmage in order to get the run blocks and to give our qb enough time to have routes develop and get the pass off.

The thing on the run game... You want your DTs and even DEs (EDGEs) not just to hold the line but to eat up space laterally to shrink the possible run holes as much as possible. I just dont see our line doing this so I don't understand how MacDonald can say the D-line is playing well. I grant that LBs aren't hitting the gaps either. Yes, the DL is doing fine in the pass rush but in run stopping? Not so much.

Everyone needs to chill out. They are 3 and 3, honestly with all the injuries I will take that. Mike has had one draft and most of the roster was Pete’s. John at some point has to take some heat. This OL has been a disaster for multiple years. This team is never going to compete until we get better in the trenches. Right now I just think Mike is unable to scheme the way he wants because of injuries and continuity. Add in trying to fit square pegs in round holes and this is the type of D we get. They need to draft guys to buy in as a unit and do the little things, maintaining gaps and tackling, the not sexy stuff. To be honest Witherspoon has been a non-factor. JSN dropped a key pass at the end of the last game. DK fumbling issues. This isn’t all coaching, the players have to be held accountable. Plus the coaches are all in their first rodeo, brand new head coach with no previous experience, OC with no play calling at the NFL level. I mean whoever thought there wasn’t going to be growing pains is delusional. Give the man some time to implement what he wants with his personnel and then make an assessment. BTW if we have a 6 year contract with Mike would it be a stretch to part ways with Schneider and promote someone within the Ravens organization to be the Hawks GM?

Hopefully on the Guerendo run to ice the game, he noticed Jenkins was lined up right behind Baker, but as soon as Baker took a step to his right Jenkins had to backpedal to the middle of the field to see the play. Zero reason at all to backpedal on a near 100% certain running play. That's ultimately why Jenkins had no chance to tackle Guerendo. Little details like that I'm confident will get cleaned up.

I would ask Macdonald why our defenders often seem alone in a play after a catch or with a runner? This isn't just happening down the field-- but at the secondary level or even at the line of scrimmage. This was a theme past years w/ Pete's defense where we have a bunch of db's on the field yet the opposing teams completed high % throws & we're not in good positions to get the defender down right away. What is it w/ all these YAC #'s? San Fran often seemed to have multiple players attacking the ball immediately, & double teaming us. Why does our defense look so porous & San Fran are in good positions on multiple levels? Mebane said our players on the line of scrimmage are getting sucked up the field & out of position to make a play.

Geno needs to be benched immediately for the sake of the defense having no time to rest and such a talented receiving core that he only throws perfectly to the opponent's instead but that makes sense and as we all know in the world, we live in that is not allowed! If they keep him as the starting QB I hope they lose every game.
