There's only one spot for Tony Kelly and that's wing back. There's only one spot for Macinerny and that's centre half back and that leaves the other wing back position vacant between Conlon, Hegarty, Cian Galvin or maybe Rory Hayes. The current halfback line of Clare is loose as ashes.

None of it wrong. Tony Kelly spent most of the game defending which is his best position only to be free to move up the field when opportunity arose. The Cork manager made a huge mistake in dismantling his half forward line as it allowed the Clare halfback line to get into the game allowing Tony to move forward more. Tony Kelly is Clares best wing back plain and simple. Diarmuid Ryan is better suited to a wing forward position than wing back. David Fitzgerald has to improve on his striking of the ball by a margin to be considered a forward. Tony Kelly resembles Brian Whelahan of Offaly.

Tony Kelly and Malone spent most of the game in front of the Care halfback line. 3 points in normal time from 9 shots is not a good return especially since Coleman of Cork scored 3 points from wing back in opposition.
