It's a tough situation since Heaven (Sera in particular) has no idea that Hell is afraid of Heaven WAY more than vice versa. Its like how humans would go out and kill wolves for a living, thinking they're dangerous, even though wolves irl are scared of people. Thing is, Adam probably even told her that demons were starting to gather around just so he could be allowed to do this and have fun.
@Jirodyne8 ай бұрын
It's 100% Clear Adam lied to Sera. That's for sure. But that's not the MAIN issue. It's the fact that she is an ANGEL, a Paragon of Good, a Being who can KILL Demons, and is unharmed by Demons as ONLY Angel Weapons can kill another angel. Something that even Angels didn't know about till the last episode. So even IF Demons invaded somehow, (Which is ALSO Impossible I might add! Demons CAN NOT CREATE PORTALS, and CAN NOT OPEN A PORTAL TO HEAVEN! (If they could, Lucifer would have made the portal for Charle, not having to wait for HEAVEN to activate and send a portal themselves!)), So even IF Demons invaded... They LITERALLY Could not touch or harm Angels in any way. They would immediately be wiped out and killed.... So why is she killing Sinners? That does NOTHING but breed rebellion. AND why do they leave the Hell Born alone, would the CREATURES OF HELL not be more Evil, and WORSE than "Sinners" Who are innocent souls born with the choice of Free Will? It makes no sense!

Where was Alastor for 7 years. What was so important that he was ordered to do for that period that noone knew where he was. Was the person holding his leash actually trying to raise an assault on heaven. Will the actual culmination of Hazbin Hotel be Charlie and friends protecting Heaven like she's trying to do for the hotel in the first season?

@AshBreeX8 ай бұрын
@@arturferrao7353I'd argue it's not a racial thing for Sera - at least, not primarily, though it certainly could be an element. You can see that in the way she vs others argue for the exterminations. Adam and Lute? Absolutely. Their whole argument, for which they have a whole dedicated song, is that sinners are fundamentally evil and therefore deserve the extermination - hell is forever. An argument that is fundamentally built on that racial line between angels and demons. Sera on the other hand? She never makes this argument. In fact, when Emily calls demons 'innocent souls' she doesn't even argue that point, even when she would have every right too - we know well that while demons are not fundamentally evil, they're not exactly innocent. They're in hell for a reason, even if they may deserve redemption. But no, Sera accepts Emily's premise that the demons are at least in spirit equivalent to angels - she argues instead that they were uprising, and she needs to protect Heaven because that's her responsibility. She does not argue that demons are *fundamentally* a threat to Heaven, she's arguing that demons have been *actively* a threat to heaven, as in, it's happened before. Is this true? Who knows at this point. It's highly likely that it could be false, but Sera certainly believes it to be true. Adam may have lied to her, perhaps, told her that they were uprising, to justify his proposition. Sera is a very particular type of character - a person ruled by fear who simultaneously refuses to accept that they are. (Similar characters in other media include General Ironwood from RWBY.) This fear combined with delusion leads them to make decisions built on paranoia and then convince themselves they were built on caution, act with fearful panic and call it logic. If Sera learned the demons were uprising from Adam, she may have believed at that point that angels were invincible - but then, if the demons were uprising (as she was led to believe) they why would they if they had not found a way to harm Heaven and its souls? And that line of thought, through fear, becomes 'they *must* have a way to hurt us', and in that case she convinces herself it would be foolish to ignore that potential threat. And so she agrees to Adam's exterminations. It's clear she hates the idea - she can't even speak of it to his face, calling it his 'yearly activities' as euphemism - but driven by fear and delusion, she is convinced that she had no choice. When an oppressor feels threatened, they do what they do best and oppress, even if that fear has no basis in reality. With thought and logic, her actions don't make sense - but that's because she didn't make logical decisions, but fearful ones, and imagination can make mountains out of molehills if you let it. And since Sera can't even admit her own fear, since she insists she's being sensible, she can't *help* but let it. Sorry for the ramble/rant, I just like this type of character very much, and they're so often misunderstood by audiences which makes me frustrated sometimes.

I love Angel using the specifics of the contract against Valentino, and it also makes for a fantastic realization if you remember the events of RKtVS. Val was PISSED that Angel moved out and said it was worse than him quitting. Why? Because whether Angel is an employee or not, as long as he's in the studio, he can't say no to Val. It also adds context to Masquerade and Angel saying that bars in Hell are his escape. He tries to stay out of the studio as much as possible so that his work hours are the only time he has to deal with Val.

But the first game truly has some unique lore. *Spoilers!* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *Spoilers Again!* In the Devil Survivor Universe, it plays out with the same lore as we would find on earth today. Heaven good. Hell bad. Except it's revealed throughout the story that it follows the more traditional hell with Demon Lords, like Baal, Bellzabub, and so on and 'Satan' is just another Lord of Hell, tho the strongest. Then it's revealed in a twist, when Angels show up in the game to stop you, that Demons and Angels are the Exact Same Race. More than that "God" Is just a Demon. It's a VERY POWERFUL Demon, literally able to warp Reality, and was so powerful he created heaven, moved himself to heaven, and then trapped and locked the rest of Demon Kind in Hell and rules Heaven with an Iron Fist. He's the old school old testiment "Send Angel to wipe out the entire city" Wrathful God. You do what he commands, you follow the good book, or you get fucked up. ^ And to me, that's an awesome lore to have. God isn't a different being. He's a Demon too. Just a very powerful demon that rules through might makes right. It would be like, a cave man is every demon, and god is a Soldier of today, with the ability to make tanks, nukes, and so on. The level of power is just that vast. But at the end of the day; He is STILL just a Demon.

It delves a little further into Val and Angel's toxic dynamic and it was animated by someone who did storyboarding for Helluva Boss! And no, it isn't a *literal* slight against same sex relationships, although on a literary analysis standpoint, it could be metaphorical. However, Vivzie has stated that Heaven isn't homophobic or anything, it's just a coincidence that most of the main cast of sinners in the hotel are queer lmao. Lute is actually referring to the species difference, Vaggie is an angel, and Charlie is a demon.

Just a bit of an explanation. The angels aren’t the ones who determine sinners vs people for heaven. They just know someone deserves heaven when they end up in heaven/are on St Peter’s list. They also can’t make angels fall. Vaggie was cast out by another angel, but she isn’t fallen (hence being able to return to heaven). Lucifer fell and can’t return.

Thinking back to Vaggie’s lines in Whatever It Takes, those definitely hit differently now that we have context. “When I saw your face, you made me feel like a stranger in a brand new place, and it felt so good to be understood, there’s so much that I wish I could say.” So Vaggie’s love language is Acts of Service, which makes sense seeing as she was in the Exorcist army, where you’re literally just trained to follow orders and that’s your whole worth. So for her to lose all that, and then meet Charlie who is possibly the first person to show Vaggie true love and affection, of course she’s going to become undying loyal and devoted to her. That’s the only kind of love she knows how to give. Then there’s her making herself into armor/an inanimate object. I think Husk said it best. Vaggie hates herself and again, a lot of her self worth is tied into being the protector, the spear, the person who will make Charlie’s dreams a reality at the cost of herself if she has to. Which…. Frick me they really need to have a conversation about that, get this girl a therapist please. Also, unrelated, but for as much of a shit person Lute is…. I love her voice. Literally my favorite part of You Didn’t Know. 10/10 have listened to that specific part again and again.

*(I'm nearly certain these aren't spoilers because it's all background knowledge stated by Vivzie but I'm adding this just in case)* Fun fact! It's widely believed the reason why Angel Dust was able to effectively handle Niffty was because of his twin sister Molly. He's used to calming down others, especially since the mafia (which he and his sister were born into) definitely isn't the most stable place to grow up. Fun fact 2: Molly appears in the song 'Welcome to Heaven', twice.

Sera's talk with Emily, in conjunction with Lucifer's statements in the previous episode really show how dystopian Heaven is. All Lucifer wanted was to help humanity get a little free will, he just wanted some change, but the other angels were to rigid in the doctrine they were given to embrace some change. And as such, Lucifer fell. Also the fact that they are that rigid in doctrine and yet don't know what gets a soul into heaven... eeesh.

How I had a very good relationship with my family, respected and loved my parents, etc. How I was working and pursuing higher education. But also I had dated a girl in high school. As great as this episode is, I'm a bit sad that Cherri isn't as supportive a friend here as she was in the "Addict" video. She means well but she wants Angel to be her fun-loving partner - she doesn't want to hear about what he went through even though he clearly wants and needs to talk about it, and she doesn't understand why he would want to do anything but party. It's hard to imagine her sitting with him for an entire night of withdrawal symptoms. Lucky for you, there's an entire season and a half of Helluva Boss to react to! Instead of listening to the songs first, it'd be neat to see you react to them as part of the episodes this time. (You shouldn't need to cut up the videos either, a lot of reactors just put a filter over the visuals, or cut away at intervals, and play the whole thing.)

I don't think Sera was threatening Emily when she told her she could end up fallen like Lucifer. It's unclear if "Falling" is something the angels do to each other as punishment, or if it's a natural reaction to your ideals no longer aligning to heaven. It is also unclear who determines who falls. So when Sera says Emily could end up fallen, it doesn't seem like a threat to me, but like a warning. For all her flaws, I don't think Sera would cast Emily out of heaven, I think she loves her too much and wants to protect her. But it feels like someone else might, or that it could occur naturally. So I think she truly is worried about Emily, and probably avoids questioning herself because like she said, she and Emily have important functions in Heaven, they can't afford to fall.

Just wanted to say, none of the people in Hazbin so far actually pass the judgement on where a soul wnds up. Sera says, "We know when they pass divine judgement." Nobody in the show so far knows why souls go where they go. Heaven also wasn't oppressing the sinners before the exterminations (as far as we know)
@mathewunknown82668 ай бұрын
One thing for the next episode thats not spoiler just explanation: Angelic weapons kill daemons by damaging their souls. While demons can get damaged by normal physical damage, its not permanent. In episode 2 we see demon torn to shreds and she was told to take "Few hours to pull herself together". However damage to soul inflicted by non angelic weapon can be permanent if its also emotional. Like say, someone gets their tongue ripped out, and until they get over the trauma of it they wont get their tongue back. However damage from angelic weapons wont heal. So once someone is killed with it, they dont die, but they cant function anymore. This is speculation, but it appears they are left to rot, and may become part of the hell, and then used for buildings and such.

I think this episode makes it clear that although he hasn’t appeared in the show, God exists in the Hazbin universe and he alone decides whether someone goes to heaven or hell. I feel like Sera might not know the specifics of this system and thus go about worried that she or someone she cares about like Emily will do something wrong and just get smited instantly. However, considering what happens in episode eight, perhaps a soul needs to die before their status as an angel or demon can change? That would explain how Adam was able to remain in heaven for so long when he was clearly corrupt and why improved souls like Angel and Pentious didn’t just one day blip to heaven when they crossed whatever the threshold is.
