For the nurse who called, I am an RN too and used to have an issue working dayshift due to toxic environment with other co workers who are bully. Went to nightshift I earn more and able to work better. I learn how to control myself since I cannot control them.

Really liked Dave’s take on the ‘toxic environment’ comment. I also feel that that phrase is overused and more importantly, misused so much now. You can not like your job and/or coworkers, but that doesn’t mean your job is toxic.

Right, true. I had to catch myself these last few days trying to accuse my job and boss of being toxic, but I'm only unhappy with the position. It's (thankfully) much simpler to deal with than actual abuse.
@erichchan33 жыл бұрын
The lady that called in about the toxic environment is a classic example of how the word "toxic environment" is overused. She is not in a toxic environment where she is a victim of any sort. Being in a job she personally doesn't like does not make it toxic.

Lauren, you just need to diversify into safe investments. Put some in paid for real estate, some in mutual funds and/or index funds. You can even do some bonds if you really want to. And some in cash. That way, you’re diversified. So if one dips, others won’t much. Then remember that investing in anything is like walking up a mountain with a yo-yo (as The Money Guy says). Day-to-day, month-to-month, even year-to-year occasionally, things go up and down. But the overall trend is UP. Good luck xx

Emily, I can tell you from first-hand experience, that family buying you a house/mortgage is a nightmare. Don’t do it. I did it in reverse. I bought a house for my parents to live in and pay me rent as they are absolutely broke. I did it when I was 21. It has held me back in so many ways. I curse the day I agreed to it. I harbour a lot of resentment towards my parents. I love them dearly. They help me in other ways, like with the kids (I’m now a 34yo widow). So I can’t kick them out. But I wish I had never gone into the deal.

Have you talked to them about this? It sounds like this is a conversation that needs to be had.
@Pandorash83 жыл бұрын
@@amberslilrose3954 we have discussed it. But they literally have no other options. I am not willing to make my parents homeless because I would like more of my money in my pocket. I am now BS7 and an EDM, so it is not fundamentally holding me back. I just have to let go of the resentment from the times it was a hard slog through BS6.

Toxic is the situation i was in when i was mid 20's . I live in NZ where guns are not common. My boss had a licence for hand guns this is not at all normal. He had toy hand guns in his desk. On several occasions he pointed the toy hand gun at me and said he would kill me. I didnt know if it was a toy or not. I needed the money as I was supporting my self and my useless mother. SO glad I dont have that job anymore.

Well actually trucks are in high demand right now and the inventory is low. So I know of one person that bought a truck in 2020 and sold it back to the dealership and 2021 for $10000 more than what they originally bought it from the dealership for. But an anomaly I'm sure. But this past year has been weird.

I pray Emma does sell the 23k car, get 2 beamer cars, which is only for a short time, the start knocking out debt. People are constantly wanting to switch up the Baby Steps which have gotten thousands of people out of the bondage of debt. You have to decide. It's called being a grown-up and doing the grown-up decisions. Hope they listened.

There are no $2k cars. Not that you won't have to put another $2k into to run. It might have been available when Dave was getting out of debt. But not anymore. He is out of touch.

I suspect it’s tricky to find reliable ones. But I just sold my late husband’s 1999 Nissan Pulsar that he’d had since new. Low mileage and well cared for. I sold it for AU$1500 (I’m in Australia). The buyer got a great car for the money. But it’s risky buying that end and I wouldn’t know what to look for personally.

It’s not often, I disagree with Dave so adamantly, the 24-year-old girl was suffering and your asking her to stay several more years to get her degree paid for? Life is too short, I spent too many years working with dopes so I could find financial freedom, there were better ways. She should try therapy, if that doesn’t help quit today and move on and follow the lord as you say when it suits you Mr. Ramsey

Sorry ignore this D person hating on you. I do agree with you that the information they provide is repetitive but like Dave has said many times on the show, he has a formula that works and that’s what he’s repeating to every caller. Also he’s said that these are common sense stuff but most people these days lack common sense. Sounds like you have the common sense and knowledge which is why it’s starting to sound repetitive now.
