With the production of this "instructional" video, the manufacturer of this type of equipment with explosion-proof metallic casing aimed to demonstrate to end users how these "Ex" equipment can represent undue sources of ignition in explosive atmospheres containing flammable gases. If these explosion-proof equipment are not properly installed, maintained, inspected or recovered throughout their entire life cycle, they can provide a "false sense of security", due to their "robust" mechanical characteristics and great number of screws to fix the flanged covers. As can be seen in the "educational" video, damage to metal joints (among other possible "Ex" nonconformities) causes certified equipment to completely lose its critical "Ex" protection characteristics, which can cause serious catastrophic accidents in explosive atmospheres. Congratulations to the manufacturer of this type of Ex "d" equipment, for alerting and making end users aware of the serious problems presented by this type of manufacturing "technology".
