15:17 No mercy is kinda ironic for me, because if you got your arm cut off in the middle of a battlefield you'd probably bleed out before you could get help, so it would probably be a painful last few minutes but highlander quickly kills warden after cutting his arm of kinda like a mercy kill.

Great video Raven, as usual! The only thing I would say is that Scottish two-handed swords, (there's actually a lot of debate around the accuracy of the term 'claymore',) are not especially heavy swords, and in terms of size, they are typically somewhere between your average longsword and greatsword, probably somewhere in the much disputed 'warsword' catagory. Other than that, though, it was an excellent analysis!

Based on your description, I don't understand what you meant that this video would be controversial. I think you gave a fair score and a lot of the executions you didn't like I agreed with, there's a few score I wouldn't be so lenient on personally but I genuinely agree with Highlander's scores. I thought you implied he was gonna get a very low score and everyone was gonna dislike that fact. I'm genuinely surprised how high he got. Also, if your a bit tired of these videos Raven, I wouldn't mind you throwing in the Deadliest Warrior Idea anytime soon to mix your For Honor Content up. 8:52 for this execution, i always thought he was grabbing hold of the warden so he could jerk the sword upward, breaking the spine. for that reason i find it so much cooler, even though the spine break isnt really necessary. its just so HIGHLANDER, and BRUTAL, just goin the extra step because its fuckin awesome

For high sender it's a reference to the highland games and specifikly the logthrow. I agree with you that this level of accuratie is not gona happen for most people, but a log throwers can defenitly get rather accurate with there throws and a greatsword is still lighter then a log sow he might be able to pull it of, but I agree with you it's very unlikely. For hole lander I have to disagree with your realisme score for one simple reason, there is no doubt about it he can't break that shaft that way. People have tested this your not gona break a spearshaft over your knee, you can't even chop true in one single-handed swing from a sword let alone with your forarm. Highlander is a big guy, but still it's not gona happen. Apart from those points I agree with everything.

I mean…to be fair, Highlander’s Claymore is a pretty heavy sword so I would think him taking so long to take the sword out or put his sword down in some of his executions would make sense. Still though, expected a bit higher though for his score.

in hilt it up, he plunges the blade with a horizontal swing, but when he drives it deeper the blade magically becomes horizontal so that the crossguard can be driven into the dude's face. Not sure it's super realistic. It is a very entertaining video to watch tho :)

So here's the biggest issue I have with this comment; it proves that you didn't watch my grading rubric video where I made it clear I don't take the victims armor into account because we cannot control who the victim will be on the battlefield. Just because it's Warden here doesn't mean it won't be shaman or shinobi elsewhere. As a result, I do not take armor into consideration so that it remains fair. This comment should be a low/zero.

When looking at it from the perspective of a battlefield I can understand “you never let go of your weapon”, but from the perspective of a duel - just a straight up duel, like let’s say it’s a setup Judicial 1v1 or something along those lines - would the situation or rating differ? Like, if the warrior is doing a power play for example? 👀

It's called halfswording, and it was pretty common in it's time, to the point of, IIRC, being a very basic technique. I agree though, I had the same thought before I learned that.

I have one question about your grading for the Efficiency category. While I agree that letting go of your weapon should always be a low score, how does it not automatically guarantee you will get a ZERO in that category? Does it have to do with how quickly he/she picks up their weapon again, or are there other factors that determine this?

Claymores aren't as heavy as you think, on average they're only about 5 and a half pounds, though the sword that Highlander has is much larger than a regular claymore so 🤷‍♂

My main problem with his executions is that he always grabs the end of the blade. Im not super familiar with claymores, but i do know that most European greatswords are only dull enough to grab at the bottom.

I myself own a great sword they are fucking monsters mine sighs in at around 15 pounds. So highlanders carrying around a sword that weighs around just as much as the average sledgehammer. So him taking a bit to actually pull it out makes complete sense.

My thoughts exactly. He kept say monumental and other such adjectives, but most real life great swords were 5lbs topping out at 10. The in game monstrosity on the other hand. Wardens sword probably classifies as a great sword by weight though.

A few examples of good moments would be if your current weapon is damaged and you could still use it as a projectile while grabbing a secondary. Or perhaps if your opponent is attempting to gain distance from you and you have a throwable spear or item that you know can incapacitate.

This could happen, if the throw was accurate and landed then the manner in which warden died wasn't unrealistic. Just very unlikely. I did not say they were. The average great sword weighed around 10 to 15 pounds depending on the make and steel. Granted it’s not very heavy in terms of pounds, but the size and length of the weapon means the weapon is more cumbersome, and harder to maneuver properly.
