Love your stuff man! Still deciding which bag I want
@DanPKing164 ай бұрын
Thanks! It’s always a tough decision. I do believe the longer I do this the more I realize the importance of a “protected” bag, as in one with a frame.

I was in the market for a new carry-on bag. I just got the Luggage Works Stealth Primier. I know it's an expensive bag. However, it's a very nice bag. I'm not against any other luggage. I just got this one because its made with aluminum instead of plastic, which i was looking for. The handle is the same length as the handle on my wife's roller bag. I'm 6'6" and its a comfortable length handle. Just thought I would share that.

Nice! Thanks for sharing such a detailed comment! That bag was definitely a contender.

I’ve had both the Executive and the Stealth series by luggage works and found that the stealth series is a way sturdier bag than the Executive. Yeah it’s a bit more expensive and heavier than the executive, but dang is it strong.

That’s good to know. I honestly don’t know many people who have them and greatly considered buying it. At the time, it just made bit more financial sense for me to get the executive, but I’m keeping my eye on stealth for sure.

Great choice with the Executive. I’ve been using it for 2 years of 121 flying and it’s held up nicely. The only thing I’ve done is purchased the screw kit from LW to replace a couple nuts and bolts from time to time. The plastic is worn like yours, but the fabric is still in great condition. Have you thought about a pilot shirt review?

That’s good to hear! I haven’t considered a shirt review. Honestly, I’ve never been a big shirt guy. Just wore what they give me.

Long awaited this video! Thank you very much. Is it possible to get get a review on a flight bag you use for 121 or 135 ops? New airline pilot here, thank you and really enjoy your channel.

I did a review on my flight bag a while back (link is in the description of this video or you can find it on my page). I haven’t changed too much on that, although I don’t pack food anymore.

Would love to see in just a quick video the small changes you've made in how you pack your new executive bag.

Honestly, it's not much different than what I've posted before, but I think I can do that!

2 years-plus with my Strongbag. Very durable. It weighs a little more, but when your pulling by the handle you don't notice that.

People love their Strongbags! Id love to test one out. I’ve been a Luggageworks guy from the beginning so it’s really what I know.

I’m a pilot myself. Wondering why we avoid spinner luggage? I’ve noticed some shoulder pain from pulling a roller bag.
@DanPKing164 ай бұрын
I know plenty of people who use spinner luggage on the corporate side, however, the going trend with 121 (airline flying) is that your bags will get beat up, especially by ground crew, and spinner bags are not built nearly as durably as Luggageworks or Strongbags (or other brands like that). I would say it’s more of a durability thing. In terms of shoulder pain, there could be some truth to that, however, I think there are a few ways to prevent it: 1) Work out. Pilots seem to have a hard time finding the gym anywhere. 2) get a cockpit bag to place on the j-hook. I’ve found this balances the bag out very nicely and you don’t feel the strain when you pull it. 3) Keep your wheels cleaned and lubricated. An annual cleaning makes a big difference and helps the bag roll smoother.

Thank you for these videos! I’ve been looking at bags for a while now. I suspected a pilot would have a great perspective on luggage! I will not spend hundreds on the trendy luggage out there now that just scuffs really badly after one trip and is basically a plastic shell casing. Would you weigh these LW bags higher than Osprey luggage and their matching backpacks (Farpoint for men and Fairview for women)? Their obvious difference is the weight and style. They are for the true hiker type. They are really light! They are durable though, as my husband had a set. (He’s got the convertible in line rolling bag that can switch to a backpack). But I doubt they’re as durable as LW from what I see. We don’t travel that much for it to be a major deciding factor. Curious if you have an opinion on them! Luggage is so expensive for what they are, that I’ve been taking my sweet time looking at all the options. LW looks like the first brand to make sense for the price.

Working a corporate gig for over a year, I loaded a lot of Osprey and Patagonia bags onto planes. They all seemed durable and great. The Luggageworks bags aren’t necessarily the best for outdoor style trips. I have other bags for those kinds of trips. But for basic traveling, they’re great.
