Pain, surprise, death? Sounds like Gantrithor to me

'I can sense this creature's final, dying thoughts... 'Oh Fuuuuck'?' With all the island Zerg bases hidden around this map I thought there would be an achievement for killing them all.

I wonder why the Overmind's face still looks intact even after getting rammed by the Gantrithor.

To this day, Colossi being underneath Aiur this whole time is one of the most bs things I've ever seen. Someone, especially on Tassadar's side, would have surely awoken those things during the Overmind's Zerg invasion.

Man, almost nothing make sense in SC2...
@CrazyJabberwockАй бұрын
SC2 needs a Redux where assets developed later in the series can be used to patch these, Just swap those things out for Reavers and it would be just fine. Not to mention using the SC1 skins for the Zerg wherever possible considering its the old broken swarm.
@TheHappy115Ай бұрын
Lets not forget the worldships like the Spear of Adun. Considering that all the protoss warriors basically come from that ship in all of the LotV missions, that ship alone could of probably taken out most of the Zerg. (And apparently there are more of them LUL)
@GaussianEntityАй бұрын
The Colossus were built and used during the Aeon of Strife. Basically the reason they were not activated was due to collective trauma. Same reason the Conclave hated the Dark Templar.
@OldSkullSoldierАй бұрын
@@GaussianEntity Nah, the reason they were not activated were SC1 engine limitations. It was probably like: "Executor: Aldaris, why don't we wake up the Collossi and send as reinforcment to Tassadar, Zeratur and the Terrans? Aldaris: Blasphemy! What could they possibly know about cliff-climbing. This hasn't been invented yet!" Well, it's bs. They should have gone for inventing the Collossi by supercharging Terran Laser technology with Protoss energy sources. Note that Protoss had no laser weapons at all in SC:BW. Spear of Adun is even more bs, so many warriors frozen, why these were not used against Overmind? And where did all the Nerazim, Purifiers and Tal'darim (+all units that are not in SC1) get there in first place? Or these come from their worlds, in such case Spear of Adun is just a transport and battle vessel?

Did anyone else hate this plot twist of the Overmind just being a pawn for Amon all along, or was it just me? I hated that the Overmind was completely stripped of its agency in the grand scheme of things, being forced to create Kerrigan to liberate the Zerg and necessitate simping. All of his gravitas and charisma was undermined by that twist. I would’ve done better and had the Overmind have a plan A and B, that Plan B was Kerrigan and Plan A was him beating Amon’s agents to the punch in creating the Hybrids that they would be under his direct control and thus be powerful enough to free him. But alas…we had to simp.
@OnlyDeathIsEternalАй бұрын
I do also dislike all this retconning and retroactively adding information to where it was not needed before. I feel the same way about them stripping the Overmind of it's agency and all this prophecy stuff is made solely so Kerrigan is absolved of all of her sins and prevent half the setting from taking revenge on her.
@GaussianEntityАй бұрын
It was heavily implied in the books though. How else did the Overmind suddenly turn on the Xel'naga? You could say that the Protoss turning to infighting was a sign that they were not perfect creators but they had full control of the Overmind so that it didn't happen again.

Zeratul after getting this weird retcon of nearly everything about the Zerg in SC1 that barely makes any sense: "I do not understand, brother." Me too, brother, me too. I guess now I see that "Blizzard doesn't play their own games" was happening way earlier than WOW expansions like MOP.
@Endru85xАй бұрын
Never played Wow, but i once watched a summary of all WoW expansions and my head hurt from all the BS they pulled. It also reminds me of NRS Mortal Kombat games. They made 4 MK games and 2 of them are based around time travel/resets, and one introduce a concept of multiverse. That,s what happens when you write your story into a corner so you turn a former villain into "not so bad guy who actually save us" or you revive dead characters, or introduce the secret weapon nobody ever heard of before.

@GaussianEntityАй бұрын
I feel like the ideas behind the Zeratul missions were interesting but they were poorly executed. Rather than have Zeratul look for the Overmind, they should've had him look into the memories he previously got from the first time he struck Zasz. That would've made more thematic sense without needing to invoke the concept of "Jedi spirits" in Protoss form.

Maybe from some kind of hidden dimesion. Or they have some kind of factory that assembles the building and allows to send anywhere?
