Yeah, on the one level, I understand his hard-line attitude towards fasting and what it is. On the other hand, as an individual biohacker who has dabbled with intermittent fasting for about 6 years, I have personal data that shows me even intermittent fasting (less than three meals per day) is powerful and can change body composition significantly without change in overall weight. This is why we all need to be biohackers and measure things - blood glucose, body composition, "fasting insulin," sex hormones, etc. The proof is in the pudding.
@dondajulah41683 жыл бұрын
The alternative to “micro-fasting” being to provide your body more nutrients than it can put to use and storing the excess as fat, it would seem most people would benefit from restricting their periods of feeding. Even if there is no documented therapeutic value, simply becoming accustomed to not eating at the initial signs of hunger will put most people down the right path. And for a lot of people, 12 hours is a good starting point to get into the habit of ignoring hunger signals.

I totally agree with working whole body in same session. I've done it for years. I do 3x BodyPump class per week with added machine weights for more intensity. Sometimes I'll add short cardio after. I rest for a day in between and on weekends. I eat high protein Keto and cycle carbs on workout days.

15 Minutes to Fitness: Dr. Ben's SMaRT Plan for Diet and Total Health is a great book and wish I had bought it sooner. Teaches training with machines, Total Gym or resistance bands. There also body weight versions of his training protocal found online.

One of the best interviews with Ben Bocchicchio. Benbo keeps it simple and short so the average person can follow. Thanks Bret, if you can have him back in the next several months it would be great.

Get the book " Power of 10" Similar to Dr Ben's type of exercise. Btw ignore the nutrition section if you like keto.

I have fibromyalgia so I've always been worried about trying HIIT. As I've done keto and carnivore my fibromyalgia has improved so I'd like to give it a shot. Anyone know how to decrease the likelihood of a flareup?

@@Billy97ify That's how I feel about a lot of things, but a flare up can put me in bed unable to work for several weeks. If it was a risk of sore muscles for a couple of days I would have tried it already. 😄
@Billy97ify4 жыл бұрын
@@rebeccaf5350 I believe Bart Kay is carnivore to eliminate fibromyalgia. Being an elimination diet, it is hard to imagine why it would cause a flareup of anything. It is up to you.

Start "slowly" and gradually increase.
@rebeccaf53504 жыл бұрын
@@Billy97ify I see the confusion. I'm on carnivore and it's amazing for my Fibromyalgia. I'd like to add in HIIT for fitness, but all of my doctors have told me my exercise needs to be gradual and not "shock" my body into a flareup. I have put myself into flare ups several times in the last 18 years l with exercise. However, my fibromyalgia feels almost gone with carnivore woe, so I dont know if I need to follow my old exercise rules. Maybe I will just give it a shot. I've been thinking about it for awhile after all.

08:36 well, considering dr. Boccicchio is kinda overweight, i don`t know how eligible is his informations. Humans are ment to fast and feast. We have the same genetics as paleo humans, nothing has changed expect the ultra processed foods. So yeah, fasting is in our dna with a purpose.

Sarcopenia happens occurs also in cancer. Cancer is a viral disease. Virus destroys mainly end cells (matured cells in Q compartment), to which the organism responds with chronic inflammation and increased proliferation to restore the organ and clean the debris. In this chronic inflammation tumor may emerge. When stem cells are hit, the entire Tissue Proliferation Unit disappears, to which the organism responds with dysplasia, carcinoma in situ, carcinoma, etc... According to the hypothesis of professor Zajicek MD, tumor protects against cachexia (muscle loss, wasting manifested as fatigue and weight loss). Every cure, which silences the disease driver, namely virus, cures cancer. Muscle loss is seen in all cancer types. Cancer is one disease. Example: Fever is a defensive mechanism. Plus two degrees protects while plus five kills. As long as tumor does not block any vital function or causes pain, it should be left untreated. Patient should keep her tumor as much as possible. Some people find alternative treatments, like Ann Vigmor diet, very helpful. With a treatment strategy of tumor dormancy and with host resistance to virus , only minimal doses of medication may be required. Tumor dormancy is a state:when tumor shrinks or stop growing. In any case patient feels healthy.

What about Bocchicchio's own obesity? It is obvious from the video that his belly is huge. If I am going to take advise from someone who obviously has a health issue -such as a huge belly, then I first need to understand why that person has that health issue.
