When you combine woodworking, passion, & patriotism, you get The Bunker Woodworks, an exciting new woodworking channel! Hello fellow & future woodworkers, welcome to The Bunker Woodworks. I am Johnny & my wife is Tanya. We're from Texas & I'm a disabled veteran & a former registered nurse & my passions are woodworking, making KZbin videos as well as guiding, helping & motivating others. Despite learning about woodworking from my father when I was a young boy & being a wood flooring installer for 8 years, I consider myself a beginner woodworker. Tanya is a former teacher & high school administrator & she recently developed a keen interest for woodworking so she is brand new to woodworking. I suppose my extreme passion for woodworking had a strong & contagious effect on her, & we are extremely excited to provide you with the most useful woodworking content possible. On this brand new woodworking channel, we will provide you with woodworking educational content as well as tips & tricks videos, tool reviews. We also have some very unique woodworking content never before seen here on KZbin. We hope to work together with you in order to improve our woodworking knowledge & skills. Whether you're interested in becoming a woodworker, a beginner woodworker, have been woodworking for some time now or you accidentally clicked on this video, we hope we can earn your subscription. We want to share our woodworking knowledge, experience & journey with you as well as be a part of yours. Please do not hesitate to share your knowledge, tips, advice or any woodworking suggestion with us. Together we have the opportunity to grow a strong & united community here on The Bunker & on KZbin. You have our word that we will do our very best to reply to each & every one of your comments as well as get to know you. To kickoff our KZbin journey, we are having a giveaway for your chance to win a new mystery woodworking tool as well as a crisp, new, uncirculated Goldback note. All you have to do for your chance to win is subscribe to our channel, like this video & leave a comment on this video. You can comment anything you'd like. We will upload a new video every 2 weeks on Saturdays so 2 weeks from today, we will randomly choose our giveaway winner using a randomly generated comment picker. Please feel free to ask us anything in the comments section. You are an extremely important part of our channel & our journey will not be possible without your support. We appreciate you watching our video & please don't hesitate to click the like button if you enjoyed this video. Also, don't forget to subscribe to our channel & click the notification bell so that you're notified every time we upload a new video. With that said, we want to thank you for watching, you all take it easy & remember, ask not what your tools can do for you, but what you can do with YOUR tools. Over & out.

My brother was amazing with any kind of wood. He made me a beautiful bookcase that I designed. He loved everything about woodworking. I just love the smell of freshly cut wood. It's exciting that you are doing what you love Johnny. Even more exciting is that the Boss has learned to live out too. You guys are awesome. Keep doing what you love and loving what you do. Love, hugs and belly rubs.

Thanks Jonel! That’s awesome too hear about the bookshelf you designed that your brother made! Do you still have it? The smell of freshly cut wood is nice, but Johnny likes the smell of any wood! lol Johnny’s dad has had him working since he was a young boy. He picked up many skills from his dad, but also leaned a lot from reading books, watching videos, and also hands on things he has done over the years. Since the woodworking is indoors and air conditioned, it has caught my attention especially after we made some Christmas decorations for around our living areas. Thanks again Jonel! Belly rubs for the pups, extra rubs for all of them! Take care and be safe ~ Tanya and Johnny

@@thebunkerwoodworks I still have the bookcase. I'll pass it on to one of his kids when I leave this life. I hope it becomes a family heirloom. I'm with Johnny about the smell of wood. Lol. It's so wonderful that y'all have found something that y'all can do together that doesn't wipe you out. I know the heat is really hard on you and just leaving the house can be a chore. You guys deserve the best. Much love to y'all.

I just found your channel. First of all, thank you for your service! I'm a line of duty disabled paramedic. My woodworking hobby got interrupted for a long time. My spine was injured when my ambulance was struck and overturned, 9 days before my 30th birthday. It took me 20 years to find a doctor who could diagnose and fix my injury. I had surgery 4 years ago. God has been good to me. I'm doing better, but 20 years of the wrong treatments left me with a lot of nerve damage. I can't do much of anything for too long, but I can do woodworking, and play drums again. I go for a walk every day, now. Before surgery, I couldn't walk at all a lot of the time. I used a cane or a walker when I could walk. My tools were stored in my parents barn for years, while I was unable to use them. I'm slowly setting up my woodshop in my basement. I've done a few small projects, like hand carved spoons, and partially hand carved coffee scoops. I made a round, walnut end grain cutting board for my daughter's wedding in June. She used it as a cake stand at the reception, and will use it in her home. I'm hoping to have my shop all set up by winter. It's always encouraging to see someone else with a disability doing woodworking.

I’m very sorry to hear about everything you’ve been through Danny. Although, I do admire your strength & determination despite all you have been through. Like you, I’ve never allowed my disabilities to get in the way of me setting & reaching for my goals. I’m excited to hear that you’ll be setting up your shop soon. I’m eager to share my woodworking journey with you & I hope to be a part of yours as well. I hope to continue hearing from you in the future so please keep in touch. Thanks for watching! -Johnny

Hello Roger! First of all, Tanya & I want to thank both you & your son for your service. Thank you for taking the time to message us, we truly appreciate it. Your support means so much to us. We can't wait to share our knowledge with you & we ask that you also not hesitate to share your woodworking knowledge, advice, tips & suggestions with us, so we can strengthen our craft together. In the future, we would like to make woodworking tips & tricks videos using our viewer shared tips so we can share your info with the rest of our viewers. Despite my 8 years of experience as a wood flooring installer, I consider myself a beginner woodworker so any information that you share with us would be greatly appreciated. Tanya is brand new to woodworking but she is eager to learn all she can about woodworking. Woodworking has really brought my wife & I closer together, & we truly enjoy making videos to share with you. We will definitely plan to make more in depth tool review videos as you requested. Thanks again for your support, & we hope to hear from you again in the future. Take care!
