Do these exercises before your tumbling session and over time you will develop amazing technique and power. You can never be good enough at the basics when it comes to tumbling.

I'm 44. I'm not as strong as I used to be. I'm trying to get back into gymnastics but it has been hard. I only got some basics 25 years ago.

For me, the hardest thing is *fear* because I’m scared of combining several tricks in one line. I don’t have any problem to do a round off or a backflip, but I don’t know how to combine them, because before each tricks, I have to focus few seconds and it’s not possible between the round off and the flips.

If fear is the problem just practice until it goes away
@johzuke14 ай бұрын
@@thebesposeidon Fear with roundoff backflip is a sign of either just lack of backflip reps or roundoff technique is not good enough so you can't get a consistent easy bounce off it. Also ro backflip is a bit different to standing backflip because the hands are already up before you start rotating the flip unlike when doing it as a standing backflip. But when you have good and powerful roundoff it should feel easy to jump and backflip eventually.

Would really appreciate more tumbling videos, roundoff off tips would be awesome
@johzuke14 ай бұрын
@@deltronics1111 my tip is to just do it a lot, straighten it like in this tutorial and not onsess too much on what is the absolutely correct way to do it. Stuff like how you place your hands on the floor and head positions are pretty pointless to obsess over. If you train it enough, you will learn the powerful way for you.

How do you straighten the round off?
@johzuke14 ай бұрын
Do all the exercises with good focus and aim to improve at them at least 3 times per week and you will have a really good roundoff. It is all about having well conditioned shoulders and just putting in the mindful reps. Film yourself too!

I want to get into it, but I think it would take time and focus away from tricking...
@johzuke14 ай бұрын
Yeah it's basically a choise of which you wanna push further. Tumbling helps a lot with tricking flips but not at all with kicks. It's a lot of fun when you can do it well but takes a lot of time to improve at.

Dub requires different twist tech that is easiest to achieve while training on trampoline or from floor to foam pit.

@johzuke123 күн бұрын
@Rez-Y2K when you train be mindful about it. Do counter measures like trying to lean to the opposite direction. It's all in your control, you just gotta act.
