Why do you dellete the thermactor air pipe? Is it recommended? I am about to take both my manifolds off. Thanks for the video.

I did a air pump delete on this truck so no need for the air injection pipes to the manifolds. I did a video on that mod as well.

@@QuickSpeedShop okay. I am restoring a similar engine and am weighing my options as to fixing the air injection or deleting it altogether. Gonna watch your video on the delete.

My clothes look like yours.. any tips you use to wash ‘em?

Nope. I just wear them until they fall apart and get new ones.

I was looking for videos on your Studebaker. I own a 1946 Studebaker M5 hot rod that spent time as a drag racer in a past life.

I did a quick review video on it last year. I built that truck 20 years ago. I will have some content coming up with it this fall. That's a cool story to go with your truck.

I traded a stock 1969 Chevelle 307 that needed some work for my Studebaker straight across. My Studebaker has a SBC with mild cam, boxed frame, new TH350, 4 wheel disc, Mustang 2 up front, 4 link in the rear, line lock, new Lokar E brake, new 3.91 gears, front tilt hood, rocket racing wheels on the front and deep dish chrome wheels in the back. Some things are still left over from its time on Dragway 42 in Ohio. Still has racing seats with 5pt harness, no door windows and no wipers. Faux patina paint job. All original steel except the lower hood fender pieces. Lots of fun to drive. Interested to see what you did with yours.

My truck started out as a stocker minus engine and transmission. I started working on it when I was 14. It started out as a 90s style smoothly street rod (because it was 1993) with smoothed bumpers, custom box, rolled pan, flush tail lights, and slammed on the ground. It has a Camaro subframe and Mopar 8 3/4" rear. I started out with a Wideblock 318/727 drive train. Around 2005 I went more restomod. The bumpers came back, a stock bed was added, and the 318 was replaced with an AMC 258 straight six. Eventually I'll paint the truck the original dark green. I put the truck on the road in 1999 and it has over 30,000 miles on it now.

@@QuickSpeedShop Mine has been slammed on the ground, tubbed for racing slicks and no bumpers. Yours sounds nice. Not too many left around.

@@testdepth377 Yeah, super rare around me. I found three in old junkyards and saved all the sheet metal that was good.

What headers did you use

I suggest you try some left-hand drills on those broken studs. BAM! Or not!

I've had some luck with studs that were broken off flush by welding a flat washer to the stud held flat against the head and around the stud, and then welding a nut to the flat washer. You can get good penetration between the broken stud and flat washer and the heat really gets deep into the stud if you crank up the welder. Any way you do it, take your time and don't make things worse (talking from experience!)

I have heard of that. As you see I had no luck. I finished the job this past weekend and will have the video out in a week or so.

#realiferepairs. If it comes down to it, I have a set of 302 heads you can have if you booger up the passenger side. I'm not sure if they're interchangeable but if they are they're yours

#spoileralert I ended up drilling both bolts and tapping them to 5/16-18 and just bolted everything together. If I had to take the heads off I would have replaced them with some Trickflows! #fullsend

I thought you were putting headers on this? So why bother with the stock manifolds? HELLO. I also agree with the left hand drill bits. But who am I but a weekend wannabe mechanic.
