Exhaust Silencer Removal (Easy)

I figured out the easy way to remove the exhaust silencer to make your exhaust tone deeper and louder. I have the 3in Megan racing drift spec catback

I learned that if the car is manual, then you can take out the silent , but if the car is automatic, leave the silent it will sound better

Hey man, the GTI sounds great! I'm here to ask your opinion about your car. I planning to buy 06-09 year gti however a lot of them make about 120k miles on clock. Do you think is it worth it? Will it be reliable? I would like to get your suggest and thoughts since you own this car :)

As long as you change your oil every 5k, use premium gas and take care of your ride it should last a long time GTI is a pretty solid car I'm sitting at 115k miles on my car. If you go with an 2008.5-2009 GTI it will have the TSI Engine so you will not have to worry about the Cam follower wearing out and destroying your HPFP and camshaft like on the FSI engine like my car 2007, My carfax shows that the 1st owner had replaced the camshaft due to this issue.

Aka the turbo? Exhaust silencers come pre installed in a lot of aftermarket cat backs and are a pain to remove

That would be incorrect. We are talking about a small piece of metal at the end of an exhaust system. Has 0 effect of gas mileage. Fuel mileage could change if you tune the car for higher boost pushing more air it needs more fuel to run properly. Even still you'll get the same because you still don't drive with your foot to the floor the whole time.

+Kim Riley mostly smiles per gallon mostly but taking out the silencer gave it a deeper and less rice sound, plus I'm getting a downpipe soon.
