I remember being in the forums when Jhin was being teased. It was full of posts by people speculating, because the splasharts of 4 champions were changed in the official LoL page. Then Riot showed those same champions being shot and flowers coming out of their wounds, and everyone went insane. It was one of the best pre-release hype-trains I've ever been a part of, and Riot has never done anything so cool since.

@@Aexils jhins lvl up conditions "You've seen me attack FOUR times" His stats become 4/4(the same thing like a heal and cleanse were used in the sense that if he was debuffed he regains his stats) and he gains breakthrough and quick attack. He gives you his q, w, or e in the form of a card(you can pick 1 any of them) and if he kills an enemy with his attack he gives you his e. His w(as a card) stuns an enemy that has been damaged this turn or last turn and deals no dmg. His e (as a card) deals dmg to two enemies simultaneously but they must be side by side. His q (as a card) hits four enemies dealing 1 dmg but ramping up with each kill and if it kills four times it hits the nexus dealing 4 dmg Idk i thought this up on the fly

@@bullettime1116 my thinking was making Jhin a "When I damage the nexus (in any way, grant him overwhelm, make him strike it using a spell, you name it), choose and create his Q, W, or E", and making his W and E exactly like you said, but making the Q only bounce 4 times and only to units. He levels up once you casted 4 abilities. and in his level 2 form, like you said he gains quick attack and overwhelm and now when he strikes he makes a fleeting curtain call. My thinking was making it OP, so you have to prevent him from leveling up like Asol. maybe a 1 cost fast spell that does 2 damage on 3 units and deal 4 damage to the 4th, and you can cast it on the same units, and it deals DOUBLE the damage on damaged units (to reference the missing health damage in LoL)

I feel like 2016 in general was the best year for champion design. we got Jhin, ASol, Kled and Ivern, champions with unique gimmicks that work and are really fun to play around with, fit their fantasy and visual design perfectly, and have defined strengths and weaknesses that feel mostly fair to play against, but can be accounted for by players who know to master them. we also got Talyiah, a very fun and skill-intensive mage with a relatively simple kit that still has enough depth to hold up and feel special and rewarding to use. we also had Camille, who isn't the most balanced, but definitely is fun to play, and while she's not the most ultra-complex 100000IQ 200years of the bunch, has a nice skill curve to her, as well as delivering on the promises of her visuals. 6 fun, interesting, not too hard to learn but high mastery celling champions that deliver on their expectations, colorful personalities and lore, excellent theme songs, great visuals, excellent voice acting, and some unique gameplay. if Riot should take any year as an example, it should be 2016.

Jhin reminds me of a manual transmission car. The machine will do what you need it to do but your input is still needed. If you bring up curtain call… you still need to make the shots count. Anything Jhin does needs your input to make it work and that in itself makes him so satisfying when it goes right.

BACK IN 2016, I was coursing the university, and my hobby was League. One day, I heard about this strange "Killed champions" appearing on the main web of League of Legends and I grew curious about it. Then, Mind of The Virtuoso was released, and I think I have NEVER AGAIN been so excited for the official release of something since then. I really wanted to know who was this "Virtuoso", and then, when the character was finally released, I was taking a class in the morning, when my phone rang: "New video posted: Jhin The Virtuoso (Skills)". Immediately I started to fake symptoms of a stomachache and asked the principal to leave early. As soon as I was out of the university I ran to the nearest Cybercafé and devoured the whole release article, the videos, the analysis, everything. I fell in love with the character and its lore, its mechanics, and more importantly, its ludonarrative consonance. Jhin was everything I wanted in a champion, for I always liked this "Assassination is an art" trope, and after 3 days of watching pro players use him in the PBE, I memorized the "range" of his damage and skill shots. I'm from México and let me tell you what: League players from México absolutely hated Jhin when he was released, their logic was that "If a marksman can't shot fast, then is weak". I didn't care, I played Jhin in every single PVP match I had the chance, and I won almost 4 of each 5 games. My group of friends even started to call me "El Carrito" (The little car), because I was the most frequent player of the group carrying the matches by playing Jhin (And because "Car" in Spanish kind of sounds like carrying lmao). After 2 or 3 months, everything went back to normal, with some players deciding to try him out, and others learning how to counter him, in the end, I was still happy, I am still happy. My summoner nickname was literally "El Virtuoso", I dunno how was I able to get the name, and for some reason, I changed it one year after (Which I regretted deeply), but I became a pretty decent Jhin. I stopped playing League one year ago, with the arrival of other (fresher) online games, most of my friends moved away from LOL, so, I stopped too; playing alone is not the same... However, if there is something in this game, that still makes me happy, and sometimes makes me remember the fun I had in it, it is the Golden Demon, the prisoner of Tuula, the Artisan Killer, the "Azakana" of the Ionian province of Zhyun, the golden excellence; Khada Jhin, The Virtuoso.
