Yay, the mystery of the arrows & letters on the door tabs is finally solved! I like these puzzles (like this one and the cat one) that come later in the calendar and have us going through all the previous rooms. It's nice to review the earlier puzzles and pluck out new clues from them. This one ended up being straightforward, but I loved opening all the doors again!

To answer your question about the feathers, no, they're not super significant, and I'm pretty sure they're open to interpretation. Basically, there are only two feathers, one at the beginning being blown to Forrest's feet, which I think symbolizes that there was a long journey for him to get to the bench at the beginning, and one at the end, blowing away, to indicate his son is about to start his own unpredictable journey into life.

Ah, how interesting! Thank you for explaining - and for watching! :)

Such a nice shelf of books and games behind you! But you thought you made today's puzzle unnecessary complicated, but I did the same, and even more so! I was thrown by the THREE words, and THREE rows of chocolates. Further they had placed exactly 1 blue on the top row, 1 nutty one on the middle row, and 1 heart on the bottom row. So I spent several minutes trying to assign values to those three chocolates. Only then did I think of just counting them! But OK puzzle!

Those Crime Scene games look particularly interesting! :) And thanks so much for sending them (and in the process providing proof that these videos are recorded just-in-time for each calendar day! :) But yes, I didn't think of counting to start with either - I definitely thought I was looking to select three separate chocolates and then assign values to them somehow.

Yep, another simple but fun puzzle..

Agreed, but it's easy to go wrong - to start with I assumed the trail led TO the door of that day which confused me for a bit. The bit about going 'back' confused me.

This one was another example of how translation affects more than just the language but the whole design of the box. The Dutch translation has two more letters than the English ones, which means it needs more doors. At first I was confused why I didn't need all of them, but that would mean translating in every language would be impossible. I really respect all the translators of this thing! Even though the Dutch translation made a big error in today's story because they referred to Forrest as 'she' and 'her' and also states 'as if they were waiting for the bus'. I think the translator forgot about what's shown in the room and pictured the real scene in the movie instead with the woman sitting next to Forrest

How fascinating - I didn't think at all about translation issues with these letters. I wonder how many the original German edition used! To start with I was confused by the extra doors, but then decided they were deliberate distractors - but perhaps they were leftovers from the original version in fact. That's funny about Forrest though! :)
