The same used to happen to me too. While a JW I asked a question one of my elder's body like: Will the last test during 1000 rule be able to take away someone who successfully passed the great tribulation as a righteous of our time? Amazingly the answer was YES !! WHAT !!! Again I asked him" what is the justice of being tested twice if the new world is to judge those who died unrighteous before the spread of good news ? " This answer has always struck me all the years I spent in the so called the truth. LOL !!!!!! I always had kind of instability in my heart always anxious and asking myself if Jesus comes today I would be saved. I could even pray while on the road because of fear of being destroyed just because I looked around and saw a girl in mini-skirt or simply because I desired something I need that God didn't give to me.

The comment about the storm clouds resonates with me so much. I remember once it was fall, and the sky was a bright red and I thought it was the beginning of Armageddon (because of all the photos in the bible story book) . I was just a child, but I remember I had an interest in Halloween and I thought I was going to die. The same thing kept happening over snd over, storm clouds, tornadoes, hurricanes. I remember getting angry for so long that Tony Morris wasn't removed and now I want him back. 🤣 I also remember every convention people saying it was likely the last one we'd ever have because the end was coming. At first, it freaked me out because the end sounded really scary. I honestly never understood why other JW's were so excited for it. Eventually though, I was like, "whatever" and stopped believing the end was near. You can only be wrong for so long until it's an obvious lie and calling things "new light" didn't fly with me.

My father is an elder, and he has been a witness since the early 1960's, although he had a period where he fell away about the time I left around 25 years ago in my early 20's When I ask about unrealised predictions and the 'keep on the watch/the end is near" rhetoric that is always mentioned he keeps a very open view. ' He always says 'dates are man made ' and God is not governed by finite matters such as time. He always says 'Dates are sticky territory '. He says it doesn't really matter to him if the system continues -as what is important is God has a plan, and Jesus died for us so we should just have faith that whatever Jehovahs plan is for mankind don't worry about when it will be. The same way as its irrelevant if the Turin Shroud is real or not, what matters is Jesus example and death. I said 'ok, fair enough if that's what you feel personally , but what about all the carrots you are dangling for non believers, your offering them an i imminent hope of salvation on the pretense that its close by, but you feel that might not be the case. Isnt that a bit disingenuous.? If you sold someone a holiday that you personally know might not be honoured this year... its really a doctrinal sleight of hand' . What does anyone else think?

No they haven't changed it again. The GB has only been in effect since the mid 70s so before that..from 1918 until the inception of the GB, the FDS was a "small group of brothers working at WT HQ" . This would primarily have been the president and vice president . The July 15th 2013 WT "clarifies" all this. IMO it did no such thing...Rather, it fired up my BS meter! Lol.

There's an animal park up the road from me that I love to visit . You can buy bags of food pellets to hand feed the animals. I was surprised at how gentle the goats were and how aggressive the sheep were . The sheep would literally nudge into me, quite forcefully, and pull the bag from my pocket.
