First of all, as a ex JW from Brasil i have to say, good "caralho", i see what you do here 😏 Second of all, In Brazil we have a family culture strongly rooted in Christian religions. In many places it is frowned upon for you to abandon the church. So it is very common for Brazilian Jehovah's Witnesses to be especially fanatical about the cult, and to have a greater tendency to do more extreme things. For example, I have an uncle who made a deal with his mother so that he would become a regular pioneer at age 18 and that she would support him. Today he must be 49 years old, has never had a job, has severe depression and yet he continues to try to give more to the cult even though it no longer makes sense to him. I left at 17 and now I'm 23, to this day I'm trying to repair the damage that this damn religion caused me. Luckily I have a great wife who gives me all the support in the world, and ways to fix what was done. Remember kids, stay away from the tower, before it breaks who you are

I grew up Baptist but I remember these little comic books that we got regularly about the rapture, the anti christ, the earth becoming a wasteland, angels fighting demons, and there were literal pictures of babies with 666 branded on their forehead. IIRC in English "Jehova" is the usual way to say the name, while im German we say "Jahwe" which is pronounced like "Yahweh" in English. Which BTW makes JWs extra weird in German, as they call themselves "Zeugen Jehovas", but no one else uses the name "Jehova" in German. As for which way is _correct_? Those damn Hebrews did not write vowels...

@@Benito_Camela448 The invention of the letter does not matter - it would be conceivable that the name would have previously been written as, say, Iehovah, as Romans had long before used I with J's pronunciation. As for Jesus - we know he was multilingual and based on who he spoke to, he knew at the very least Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek and Latin, and likely Egyptian too. His name probably existed in adapted form to all these languages - and we know the Romans did call him "Iesus", but we also have very strong reasons to believe Latin was not his primary language and thus his name in his first language was different - indeed quite possibly Yeshua. My point is just, the different spellings of the name are not _wrong_, but very likely are spellings he himself used (except for the letter J of course, which was an I back then).

@@Benito_Camela448 Should maybe add - the name Jesus is very interestingly butchered. In German it sounds like the Latin form of the name he himself went by among Romans - and also very close to the Greek Iesous that was also in use. That these names exist is actually very helpful to confirm Yeshua - the e and u were also used in the Greek and Latin forms of the name, which is a strong indicator that Aramaic and Hebrew had them too, even if not spelled out. The real butchering happened in English, where the J suddenly got pronounced dch, the e became an i sound, and the u became a schwa. A more proper English form of the Latin or Greek name would be Yesoos (although it would need to be stressed on the Ye part which English cannot represent).
