Fun fact: Doctors, at least where I live, have the right not to treat a patient who refuse some treatments because of their religious beliefs. They have to wait for another doctor who is willing to deal with these shenanigans, as it takes time and resources away from people who want to receive appropriate treatments.
@RomaoLevronАй бұрын
Out of curiosity, what country are you talking about?
@watchandjewelryloft4713Ай бұрын
This makes sense. If I can treat 5 patients a day the conventional way, but only 1 per day using a religious consideration, I should have the option to defer that to someone who cares more about the religious belief than treating people.
@robertgrey6101Ай бұрын
Doctors used to have the right to REFUSE accepting any patient where I also live. Why should a doctor be F O R C E D to perform an operation on some one who chooses to go against practical medical practices ?? Why should a doctor have a BLACK mark against his / her name because a patient in their pig headed religious belief wanted to make a martyr out of themselves by being a sacrifice to their God by refusing BLOOD ?? Thus the patient died, no doubt on the operation table by refusing blood. There may well be substitute such as saline, dextrose, juice from 7 month old coconuts plus platelets taken from either own blood only blood from a donor. Blood particles is a conscience thing. Therefore whole blood should also be a conscience thing the same as organ transplants are a conscience thing.

I was born in 1949 to witness parents. The conventions were the ONLY vacations my parents could afford and we looked forward to them with eager anticipation. Driving down the highways from Michigan to New York honking and waving at the passengers in passing cars bearing the bumper stickers announcing the convention as their destination or because the cars had a Watchtower or Awake magazine taped to the inside back window. My family loved attending and the International Conventions were the best since people from all over the world attended dressed in their native costumes. And yes, I felt as if I were already in paradise because I felt love surrounding me. Those years hold very special memories for me. Today I’m 75 years old, I left the organization after the 2016 convention and the disgusting video of how we were to treat our disfellowshipped children. That along with my first hand knowledge of the CSA problem and the policies around it and the vile practice of shunning are just a few of the reasons I removed myself and pray for the organizations demise.

Does anyone else find it really funny how he talks about human rights-- while the JW organization actively does things that violates human rights? The amount of research I've done where I've found JW engaging in activities that violate human rights is egregious. Mainly what I've found is the stalking and spying that members do on ex members who leave, or those who are suspected of not following the cults orders. Privacy is a human right in which I personally believe they actively never respect-- so them mentioning that in regards to someone getting a blood transfusion to save their life... yet they don't care about the human right to privacy so they may "save" what they call "lost sheep" feels so hypocritical... then again this whole religion has always been hypocritical.

I hadn’t discussed anything like that with my pre natal team but I panicked and said I didn’t want blood. I remember being totally horrified when they asked if I would allow them to give my baby blood in the event that she needed it. I told them I gave my partner permission to decide on that one because I just couldn’t and I knew that he would agree but it still would absolve me from guilt.
