When I was pretty young, I was home alone with my 13 year old sister, and we saw two ominous people in all black walking down the street to our house. My sister saw them and yelled “ITS THE JEHOVAHS WITNESSES, RUN!” We then ran upstairs and hid in fear as the two guys knocked our door. We didn’t really know what the jws were about we they seemed pretty scary.

I remember one time my family and I were expecting a contractor to come and give an estimate on a new kitchen counter. Somehow, I mistook the JW'S for the contractor. I figured it out quickly and stormed back into the house, saying," Damn Jehovah's Witnesses!" Dad saw what happened and politely told them we weren't interested and sent them away!

I will never forget my JW best friend's reaction, who was a ministerial servant later turned elder, when I opened up the need for vulnerability in order to solve emotional problems within the members of the congregation, and he just snickered at my suggestion like it was something to be ashamed of. That made me woke up to the fact that the entire time I was surrounded by people who were driven by fear pretending to be loving.

I remember watching a documentary about religious cults. In it featured a woman who was forced into being a Jehovah's Witness when she was a child. Her mother converted to that religion when she was nine. When she became 18 she ran away from the religion and never looked back. Although it did cost her relationship with her mother she did get married and had a son. I remember that when she told her son about her bad experience growing up and spoiled him a little bit, he exclaimed, "Man, I have a good life!"

The more I watch these things, the more I notice the music in the background. I'm just imagining some like extremely bored 13-year-old JW kids that had dreams of playing in symphony orchestras plunked down in a drab studio by the people who make this video and being told: "Okay Sally, today you're going to perform your work in Jehovah's name. Here's the microphone, right above the piano. We just need you to play four or so random minor chords, and then like maybe five or six major chords." "Fine..." "What about me, elder?" "Joshua, your're going to take that violin of yours, pick a note in Sally's chord and just hold it." "That's it?" "Are you questioning Jehovah, Joshua?" "...no, elder."

But I guess it's only fitting that a contrived and emotionally-hollow religion have contrived and emotionally-hollow music.

One thing I noticed at the ends of the bunker videos is that it is shot specifically to never show the soldier’s faces. This is typically done to dehumanize a person, as the face is visually the most striking and unique part of an individual. But they didn’t even cover the faces of the soldiers, as that would make people wonder what kind of person lies underneath the mask, but rather they never have a camera shot that shows the front of their head to try and give the sense that they aren’t really human. It’s pretty typical of propaganda pieces to try to dehumanize the enemy as much as possible. I’m just surprised that Panda Man didn’t bring it up in the video as it’s a bit concerning for a religion to have an enemy to be dehumanized.

If I were having a conversation with coworkers, and someone pulled out a bible and started lecturing us about scripture, I'd be out of there so fast, it would make their head spin.

Her friend said don’t talk to someone who you don’t want to talk to right now. Calling that bad advice is crazy from an organization that does the same thing to disfellowship people
@watchandjewelryloft47133 ай бұрын
@@piercejones4355 Exactly. "right now," implies it's not permanent. Whereas disfellowshipping is for sure indefinite unless the person bows down to the cult again. Insane.

Not exjw but I had a religious upbringing that centered on the rapture/great tribulation and it caused so much anxiety that I seriously considered unaliving myself so I wouldn’t be around when it happened. Kids shouldn’t be exposed to that stuff.

11:00 that has to be the worst lmao. You know what massage is this giving to the abused women inside the cult? That the when other women try to help them and point out that what their husbands is doing is bad, it will be against their religion to even consider it a possibility

I lost the cringe challenge when the woman said that they took the next step of "pioneering" by selling their house and moving into an apartment. Ignoring voluntarily going from owning your own property to living under a landlord, how is that living a "pioneer lifestyle?"

Recently my uncle came down to visit from bethel, and he was talking about how excited he was for the great tribulation to start. It almost makes me sad that someone would feel so bad about the world that instead of saying we should improve society, they say everyone should fucking die and the world should end. It also makes me sad that this talented and extremely intelligent man threw his life away to be an office slave for an international organization. We need to free the bethel workers.

Variations on a theme. Those same storylines were portrayed like 30 years ago by the tower. Instead of being able to see it online, they were on tapes that you could buy or borrow on VHS.

This series of videos is the straw that broke the camel's back in waking me up. That convention was the defining moment that I mark as the end of any questioning I had if this was all false or not. It's false. For sure. I had been aware that some of the doctrine was wrong up to this point, but when I felt myself emotionally wrecked by this video, holding back sobs, and watched all the other people around me just losing it- breaking down in tears... I realized that this religion wasn't the same one I had been baptized into. It had turned into an emotionally manipulative and abusive cult that no longer had any solid backing in their doctrine. It started me on my path to deeply investigating everything I had been taught and found it was all a huge scam. I'm still PIMO, but I am completely awake, and will never believe in their garbage again. I've since joined a group of Buddhists and have never felt such peace and happiness.

6:58 That’s the main reason why I left that high control organization. It falls under the B and I of the BITE model. Behavioral Control: The organization’s rules on entertainment media are too restrictive Information Control: Its rules on information are culty.

Oh man, this brings up some memories..watching this felt like i've seen these videos yesterday, especially the music video. I got baptized in 2018, during this big convention and I remember that many elders came up to me and said how proud they were, but I especially remember one elder, who also told me how proud he was and one sentence later, he said something like "Now Satan will really keep an eye on you." and damn - it really stuck with me and I became super scared. On the program for sunday (the next day), the music video was shown and it realllyyy got onto my nerves, I, again, became so scared that I started to really cry a lot and back then I REALLY thought, that this was a normal reaction, like I was just overwhelmed... I was just scared about "the end" and if i'm ever gonna make it.🤦🏽♀️🫠I'm soooo glad and thankful, that I left the JW almost three years ago, I really have never ever been happier than I am now.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Also, my research of Near Death Experiences we do not die religion has separated us from our Spiritual Creator look up NDE for yourselves religion is a money making business this is the year that TRUTH is coming out. Bro you need to put a trigger warning before these videos. Cause these videos had me so terrified at the 2016 convention when I was deep into the indoctrination...I was full PIMI. Those bunker videos made me double down so much cause I was sure Armageddon was coming and me being attracted to the same sex made me worry so much I was gonna be destroyed soon. 4 years later...I woke up. Best thing that ever happened to me.
@LinksQuest3 ай бұрын
Yeah makes no sense as people have no control over their attractions and it is not even a choice. Actually fully believing in God isn’t even a choice people make, you are either convinced of something from evidence, knowledge or faith or you are not convinced, but being convinced that something is fully true or fully false is not just a choice that people willingly make. I was a Christian for over thirty years and my disbelief now is not a willing choice I made. I just was just not convinced any longer. Of course I could have chosen to still follow god because actions are choices but the belief itself is not a choice any more than I choose to believe that my car has four doors and I don’t choose whether to believe it does or not. Also believing that something is a possibility is not the same as believing that it is actually true.
