CASE UPDATES: We anticipated there would be updates today and there have been. They are included below. Please remember this was filmed at midnight last night before most of this was available - but the video still has a lot of important information. We will film an updated video as information continues to release. ** According to Fox 13, one of Ruby's children escaped Jodi's house through a window and ran to the neighbor asking for food and water. She had duct tape on her wrists and ankles, had open wounds, and was severely emaciated which was why police were called. Another child was found in the house in the same condition. They report that Ruby has been in the house and was aware of the abuse and malnourishment. The charges are a second degree felony - for both children found. **Ruby is being held without bail.

My mother was part of connexions for 3+ years and it absolutely tore our family apart! My sister and my mom did not speak for two of those three years. My mom and Jodi had a very close relationship during that time. My mom and dad separated during that, also. They got back together against Jodi’s recommendations. I am thrilled and relieved that she has finally been arrested and I hope that she is gone and out of peoples lives for a long time!

@@JordanandMcKay it was about a month ago. My mom stopped seeing Jodi about a month ago and reconnected with my sister. it was really devastating for my whole family. I cannot tell you how many nights I’ve laid sleepless in my bed because of what was happening to our family. I am an adult and was asked if I wanted to start seeing Jodi on my parents dime and I did some research and thought “this sounds like a cult.“ I am so relieved and happy that I stuck to my guns and never started seeing her.

Kids generally tell an average of 3 adults of their abuse before they are believed and it's reported to authorities, which means it's so so important to listen and report the allegations to authorities, even if you're not sure of the validity. Hopefully, these children are going to be safe, and their disgusting excuse of a mother and family

Maybe not typically mormon abuse but when church leaders tell the world that Utah cares more for the souls of predators than victims, and when Utah law (churchislature) makes child abuse/molestation so difficult to prosecute, the door is left wide open for harmful situations just like this.

Totally agree with this. I’ve lived in Utah my whole life, and I’ve seen this happen over and over again. People usually think of the FLDS as the worst problem here, but I consider the LDS church just as harmful in different ways. They really just use the religion as an excuse to let these things happen. Just recently someone in my county shot his son dead, and the neighbors said something along the lines of “We still love him for he is a child of God.”. Obviously not all mormons are like this, but at a certain point it’s hard to ignore just how heavily the church leaders (and religion injected laws) value their appearance over the victims of these horrible and disgusting acts

It’s weird, this case was…triggering for me in a lot of ways. My mother was like ruby, I went without a bed for about a year after I got in trouble for some pretty normal teenage stuff. But…ya know….once I had an abusive partner and what my therapist told me is that yea, it starts off mild, he only grabbed me ONCE, but it escalates. I’m starting to be grateful I am an only child. I think if my mom had more kids it would have absolutely escalated to the duct tape situation.

The 12 year old boy had duct tape around his ankles and wrists and open wounds too. The cops then went to the house and found his two sisters. We don't know what condition they were in but the cops have listed possible malnutrition. They were there at the house for two hours, I would imagine they probably brought in child psychologists and took it all very slowly so as to not cause more trauma to the kids. I imagine the cops were also collecting evidence from the scene during that time, photographing the conditions the kids were being kept in.

I know what u mean. I am both triggered and thrilled by this news. My parents were just like Ruby and Jody (and always Mormons holding high stake and ward leadership positions). They did horrible things to us all those years, while maintaining this image of a perfect Mormon nuclear family. I’ve had night terrors since I was 12 of my father accidentally killing me during one of his episodes where he believed I deserved to be beat within an inch of my life. I’m 47 now and still have to take bedtime scripts to suppress the night terrors. Ok ew the instant I first saw Ruby, and then Jody… they were the exact sort of nightmarish deluded Mormon parents I grew up with. And my heart sunk with an inner knowing these children were literally enduring torture.

My aunt who raised me along with my grandparents were wildly esteemed within their church…meanwhile they were going through my carpet to look for strands of hair they could punish me for, making me dig holes for hours and hours - pointlessly - because I didn’t make eye contact with them, standing in the same bathroom with me as I showered when they caught me shaving my legs at THIRTEEN to try and humiliate me….and many other things. They were very weird with physical punishments too. They treated my sister and cousin like royalty though. There was no intervention. People tried to intervene, people have been begging the cops and CPS to get involved for more than a year but they just ignored it all. If that boy hadn't escaped and gone to the neighbors the cops and CPS would have continued to ignore it until it ended in death.

Like everyone else is saying, Ruby and Jodi are giving some serious Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell vibes. I don't even want to think of what would've ended up happening if that little girl hadn't been able to escape. I've always believed that Ruby was a fucked up and abusive mother, but this is way beyond what I thought she was capable of doing. Truly disgusting and I hope for healing for all of her children

Ruby and Kevin have always come off as abusive and a lot of their public choices have been very questionable, but what is being revealed here is absolutely next level evil. I am so glad that the kids were taken out of that situation. I wonder if the Connexions "teachings" have encouraged other controlling parents to take things this far, and I hope that these arrests help quash any "learning" that has taken root in the homes of their community members.

It wasn’t revoked. She was disciplined and the license was reinstated after she did what the board required. So far as we know, she hadn’t operated in any official capacity under that license since she got in trouble.

I can’t believe CPS wasn’t called when she told the teacher to let her 6 yr old girl go hungry. Bc she, at SIX was “responsible for packing her own lunch”. Really?! It’s awful things got to such an extreme for action to be taken. I always assumed CPS was at least briefly involved after the school lunch video. I hope they were at least checked into after that one. I’m glad ruby and her gal pal were arrested, I feel devastated for the kids & their siblings. Ruby always seemed to delight and appear overjoyed when talking on camera about whatever abusive punishment she handed down. I knew she’s an awful person, but I never thought she’d be dipping into Lori vallow-esque territory

One thing I've noticed about child abuse charges: If the father was the abuser, the mother will usually be charged with failure to protect. But if the mother was the abuser, the father usually gets off scot free. It's sexist, but it's true. The latest news I found indicates one of the kids escaped in awful condition, asking for help. The police were then dispatched, and the child was taken to a hospital in bad shape. Then the police were sent to the home, and found another child in similar condition, who was also immediately hospitalized. Four "minor" children were then taken into CPS care. Kevin is apparently seeking custody of the kids.

Reading the comments on Bonnie’s post from instagram… at first I was like “yes good for them to protect the children and be respectful” but now reading the comments I’m also like I do feel like we should “blame” the whole family for this abuse. The whole Griffith family vlogs, they have a huge audience. If they shared their sister was abusing her children the fans could have kept calling cps and spreading the word…. But instead they did stay quiet so instead of stopping the abuse in one year… it happened for 3:( it’s just an unfortunate story.

I’m hearing a lot of channels speculate, that perhaps the father was unaware… We’ve all watch this channel long enough to know that he knows damn well what is going on. However, when it comes to Jody, I think she’s intentionally inserting herself and that caused the break up of the marriage, but nonetheless the father knew.… If I’m not mistaken, and the older girl actually said that they have been trying to tell the police and CPS for years.
