Did you catch Tiffany saying locals were "fleeing" to their resort hotel for refuge as their homes were burning down....and moments later (as she was packing for the airport) say she paid to keep their hotel rooms for another night "just in case" there was traffic and their flight was delayed? I found it DESPICABLE & so lacking any semblance of self-awareness that they would hold 3 rooms hostage that could have gone to locals "jUsT iN cAsE". Because god forbid you rough it in an airport for an extra couple hours. It's extra Mind-blowing she felt this was totally appropriate to say on camera!!!! I’m so glad I’m not the only one that didn’t actually believe that journal entry made it through the fire. Tiffany has made several statements that I question prior to this one. It’s obvious that she did foster care and adoption for her own gain instead of to help children and families. Even with Nayvee’s adoption story (which shouldn’t be on KZbin), Tiffany makes her initial reunification with her birth mother all about how heartbreaking it was for her. Like, did nobody tell her the main goal of foster care is reunification? In a perfect world, all those adopted kids would be with their birth parents, not adopted by Tiffany to feed her savior complex.

@callaelise1263 I think they differentiate between their bio and adopted kids too much. They have specific videos like "guess who's adopted out of our family." Stuff that might not seem sinister when you first see it because they seem to celebrate adoption, but deep down being told "oh you're adopted" and sharing their kids' personal info in the form of adoption stories can be alienating and not good for the kids. But I am not an expert on them so if anyone else has more to add, please chime in.

Also they have videos revealing what the kids’ names were before adoption, how the kids’ felt about their adoption, etc. They use traumatic moments from their kids’ lives to make money and get clicks. It’s exploitative, and hurtful. I highly recommend following adult adoptees online to change perspective on why these things are problematic.

Just wanted to add a little info on Amazon and Maui. Amazon actually has a disaster response team that initiates to help isolated communities during natural disasters. In Maui they helped set up temp comm centers with WiFi, phone, and charging stations in affected areas and utilized their air fleet and warehouse inventory to deliver needed supplies to the affected area for both victims and first responders. They work directly with government agencies and local charities on what infrastructure they can help support and are also providing financial support through local services to families, small businesses, first responders, and on the ground charities in the form of monetary donations and Amazon gift cards. Looks like they also encourage people to donate to the Red Cross.

The Camp Fire that occurred in November 2018 in Paradise, CA was the worst fire in California history. Most of the city burned down and there were so many displaced people. You guys are totally correct in telling her that what she is doing is not helping. It may be making her feel better and maybe her heart is sincere but if she wanted to do something for the people it would be better for them if she teamed up with some group that knows the area and people personally. Most churches were feeding people, housing people, getting them what they needed and people would go donate there, too. The locals would be able to steer her in the right direction instead of her setting something up on her own. The Mormon Church in Chico was actually giving away new mattresses to all survivors. One of our problems though, was that people who weren't survivors were also getting all the free stuff meant for the survivors. Facebook had 2 different groups that we could donate to but the people had to be checked out first. I personally got ripped off once by donating to someone who had a sob story that I believed because I could not imagine anyone taking advantage of that situation. But it was an issue then and it is STILL an issue! There are still scumbags claiming they're from the Camp Fire. There are also people from the Camp Fire that are still struggling 5 years later. It's def. not a problem that will go away anytime soon. I totally agree with you guys on your ideas for helping these people out. Venmo is a great idea...as long as someone is verifying the people on the list(unfortunately that is a MUST!!!) I donated to quite a few individuals, but I did it anonymously. That Nelson lady really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Yuck!

I've never been to any of the Hawaiian islands, but I can see how beautiful and special this land is. Ok this brought up a Mormonism question for me--what do the Mormons believe about the supernatural other than the VERY specific and in-depth afterlife beliefs? Like angels/demons etc? Is there an emphasis on angels/demons in the BOM? Did y'all have the same demon fears I did growing up conservative Evangelical? I remember people telling angel stories growing up but it wasn't a focus and usually we would attribute miraculous things directly to God as opposed to angels, unless there was an embodied person there doing something and then somehow "disappeared." I feel like this would be a good topic for a video in your intro to Mormonism playlist!
@ann-gt4hh5 ай бұрын
In my memory, I never feared demons. Demons were of the bible time. In fact, I didn't even fear Satan. I feared doing the wrong thing and god punishing me/family being disappointed in me. There was a lot more focus on how YOU could fail god, how YOU could be tempted away from his path, how YOU were the sinner. Even though there was plenty of talk about how satan tempted you, it didn't impact me the way my personal failings to abide by the rules did. also mormon supernatural beliefs are.. wild. Cain is bigfoot 😎 Lol.

Considering the child protection law passed in Illinois and more family bloggers getting exposed, do you think we'll see more legislature passed to protect kids on the Internet? Also, though I'm not sure if you can consider this family content, what are your thoughts on child content like unboxing/gaming/those weird Disney Princess reenacments? Should there be limits or bans? So many of cousins and siblings interact with this videos and I think they're so sketchy. I think it cognitively stunts kids to watch stuff like that.

I think there is a way where content can be created that children are afforded their fair share for the labor they contribute to these kinds of things. Like on tv. But sharing all these details on a kids life- where they live, where they go to school, their likes and dislikes. It’s just not good to be sharing.

If she links to a wishlist it’s probably also connected to her Amazon influencer setup where she gets a kickback from each purchase.

She did say she wouldn’t profit through her Amazon as any money would be added to the fund, I’m not a Nen fan just saying

You could use that to help, donate the kickback, extra help, no extra cost to the people donating. But somehow I doubt Tiffany is doing that.

I wonder if they made the registries through her Amazon affiliate link so she gets a kick back for everything that is purchased

Maybe they take a page out of their own playbook and donate 10% and that would be the church tithing to help others. As a member you have to pay 10% of your income so why doesn't the church do the same thing with their income?

Not sure if it's in the comments elsewhere here but clickbait is indeed in Merriam-Webster: ": something (such as a headline) designed to make readers want to click on a hyperlink especially when the link leads to content of dubious value or interest" 📖

I would be very, very interested to know how many of the families that she's helping are a) fellow Mormons (I suspect all, but I could be wrong), and b) native Hawaiians (I suspect few or none, but again, I could be wrong).

I wonder most about the first part.

I just feel like we've heard this story so many times, during so many natural disasters, from so many churches/members of churches. It's all about how many people they're "helping," but you scratch the surface, and they're either only helping members of their own faith group, or it's a hardcore evangelism situation where they're making people listen to prayers or something in order to access aid.

Tons of native Hawaiians are Mormon BTW. And while I'm not trying to lump people together who are separate groups, pretty much every Pacific Islander is Mormon. I only lump them together in the sense that Hawaii is also a group of islands in the Pacific Ocean. Same with Aboriginal Australians and the Maori of NZ

First off I love you guys. I love your truth I love your transparency, and I love your calling out the abuse of spiritual authority and bullshit! Wouldn’t it be better for them to have financial aid. First of all where the hell he pokes they supposed to put their stuff that they get second of all how are they supposed to get to it just like you guys said I just don’t I just can’t I don’t even have words except for WTFFFS no her picture (the AI one) should be in the dictionary, or the definition of tragedy pimp. It feels to me like a lot of their “blogging” is scripted. What a bunch of horseshit. Thank you guys for always bringing the light to the truth.

They don't need money. They need things that cannot be produced on the island. Food water and building materials.

Why those 13 families? Why not everyone? Why not partner with groups already there? JW’s often only help other JW’s.

Referring to it as "The Heartbreak" is just incredibly condescending. There's still thousands of people missing and most of them are probably dead. Also I'm sure they're moderating comments and removing negative ones. I didn't see a single "that's exploitative and weird" in the comments.
