I have faith in Nanjin and Exo-6 that the Head sculpt will improve. As for being a Star Trek VI figure, it does also double for that one Voyager episode too....

Thanks Ben, I saw the figure and thought it would look nice next to my old QMX Sulu. almost like a before and after but I agree the price is making me hold off for now. keep up the great content and look forward to your next video.

This looks amazing to me. I remember when I was in college I saw the Undiscovered Country and I was happy to see Captain Sulu of the Excelsior. It made me happy to see him as captain. Exo 6 has been hit and miss. But this looks good to me especially with the tea cup. I’m probably going to skip this because I can’t buy them all and knowing myself I might try to lol. Before they announced this I didn’t’ know I needed a Captain Sulu but dang it I sure do. I agree the head sculpt is off in certain angles and the price point is up there. EXO-6 did say that this style of uniform is more expensive to make which is why it cost more. I also would like for them to finish a line before releasing a new one but I have to admit I am excited about this one. ‘Cry Havok! And let slip the dogs of war’. In the original Klingon of course.

I'm trying to get a figure from all the good movies, and i might also get all the Captains, so this Sulu is perfect for that. And it is a great moment in Trek to see his achievements.

Any and every figure except the TOS Kirk and crew. I will get this but EXO-6 has the most perplexing strategy with dragging their feet on TOS almost 6 years in, and doing this instead of finishing Wrath of Khan. Crazy strategy that has saved me thousands of dollars. I had dreams of assembling each series crew around Kirk & the TOS crew to build my collection, but alas not to be. I've got to start from the ground up, but Exo-6 wants me to buy fixtures and furnishings before the foundation is laid. Odd strategy that has alienated a lot of people from my generation and left a lot of money on the table. Copium and hate incoming. Lol.

I agree. Exo 6 baffles me. They have previewed Kirk, Spock and McCoy from Wrath of khan for at least a year and a half but no official announcement. I’d take a Sulu from that film that would Fit into that line. Meanwhile no other original series bridge!!??? As for this figure…eh… it’s ok…but not great. Looks like Sulu hit the Botox pretty heavy before taking command of the Excelsior. Thanks for doing this video and all you do, Ben!

I'm a patient guy. Just got Saavik and she is mostly wonderful (jacket parts falling off & tight wrists joints aside) so my hype for TWOK is high. But now we get a course change to TUC...wtf?! I'll sit this one out I think.... The likeness is not there and I don't need a Captain Sulu when all I want is the TWOK crew.

This is a pass for me. EXO6 strategy is scatter shot. Makes no sense. I just got Saavik and that figure is amazing. Why not put up Kirk next? Is it a production issue? And I think 205 to 225 is going to be the entry price going forward. Which means I will be passing on several figures.

I have been waiting hours for your thoughts on this announcement Ben. It looks like Sulu if he just ate a bunch of lemons .. lol But when are we EVER going to get another Captain Sulu? Never thats when. I think I might just wait for TOS Sulu. AND that price?!!! Insane! They are making 2 more from Undiscovered Country (Kim Cattrall's Vulcan and the Klingon Villain w the Eyepatch) and I have ZERO interest in either.

TWOK Kirk: BEEEEENNNNNN!! I agree, not best likeness. Imo Takei maybe wanted Sulu as a captain. The only reason why VI was appreciated was cause V was awful after IV being so funny, I’d rather see the Sulu at the helm of that Bird of Prey in IV than in VI…
