Exo One Full Story Explained and Theories PS4/PS5 Launch! June 27, 2024 (XBOX/STEAM)

Exo One is an amazing new (to PlayStation) sci fi, space exploration/zen game from Exbleative Games. Part Zen flyer, part mystery and part just plain old fun, Exo One is a game that shouldn't be missed.
In this video I go over the ENTIRE story (that's not super clear in the game) as well as some theories as to what happened. I'd love this to be a discussion, so let me know your thoughts below!

This game is unreal, from the vagueness of the story, to the visuals, to the music. It's all perfect. No other game has given me the feeling of playing this one, though I'm still looking.

I'm pretty sure it's "Non-Causal" not "Non-Casual" which implies that the objects are not subject to causality, they exist outside the normal rules, the objects don't need to follow time linearly they just need an immense amount of power to travel that way. I like to think the non-causal objects we see in game are other exo-ones - actual aliens - just exploring and doing whatever they do, I think they felt for the Commander and the lost crew and provided a way for them to live again. Respect from one explorer to another

haha honestly you're probably 100% correct, causal makes more sense than casual. I like to think they're other exo's too, or the original one that did cause the explosion. It would be nice that they wanted to help out or felt bad, I mean they had to have some reason to send the schematics to us, but yeah, thanks so much for the correction!

Very somber game, plus i love the little bit towards the end where your ship loses power, and adds credence to your theory about the aliens looking out for the little guy in the ship. My first theory is very similar to your theory, but with a bit of a twist. The other orbs you see arent aliens, theyre you, cutting across the same journey youre making, youre just the one who eventually makes it in the end. If you want a game with a very similar vibe to this, i highly recommend Outer Wilds. Exo One is great, but i put Outer Wilds as one of the few master pieces of video game achievments

VR would be pretty cool for this. Flying in the clouds would be awesome but crashing into the ground might be terrifying Lol have you tried Thumper in VR? That has a crazy sense of speed too!

DON'T BUY IT on PS4. -Constant crashes. -Low quality graphics, not what I expected when I saw it on PC. You can even see those awful stitches between two tiles with the same texture like in the old 90's games, with very low poly features. -The voices, if you can call it that, are just an annoying and very loud mumbling sound. -The PS4 looks like is about to explode. It looks like it's crypto mining or something. -Atrocious frame rate. -Generic music, nothing special, as in Vane or Journey, for instance. -The crashes made me quit. It always crashes in the same level (an only clouds level), and I can't progress. I've tried like 10 times. Literally unplayable. It's a good idea for the people like me, who like relaxing and different experiences, but this one is just bad.

I also own the game on ps4 and have had a near perfect experience. The frame rate is consistently high and I’ve only had 1 crash so far, and I’ve beaten the game dozens of times at this point. The graphics aren’t anything groundbreaking, but are still beautiful and incredibly impressive considering it’s the work of a solo developer. The soundtrack is absolutely breathtaking and had me captivated throughout - I don’t know how anyone can call it ‘generic’ or ‘nothing special’. This game is nothing short of a masterpiece in my opinion (especially when you’re stoned, which I highly recommend), and it’s sad to hear you haven’t had the greatest experience with it. I hope one day you decide to give it another chance (perhaps after smoking a few Js) and have a way better time.
