FUN FACT: Jimin from BTS, Kai from EXO, Taemin from SHINee are close friends since they were trainees. They even have some live performance together. Kai and Jimin went to a vacation together and you can even find photos of them swimming together. They spent holidays together with their other friends.

D.O is very interesting. He's very quiet, but he's also very funny and savage when he opens his mouth. As quiet and calm as he is, he is also an AMAZING actor. He has a very impressive acting portfolio under his belt, and no one saw it coming when he first decided to give acting a go. His personality is also very refreshing for an idol, tbh. He doesn't care to put on any airs, which is why he may seem uninterested, but he's actually always observant

D.O. at first and then EXO as the whole group are the reason I'm in Kpop. D.O. my man has a character i really resonate with. He is introverted around new people mostly but can be chaotic with his friends when he chooses it. I love his honest but respectful character. He's a mixture of things

Kai was freaking out cz he's so shy and not used to the exos speaking eng so the whole thing was new to him and kyungsoo prefers to listen to what the members have to say and pay attention to the interviewer's words as he can understand eng very well I don't know why he's not comfortable talking in it yet the other members were also being themselves baekhyun having fun and saying come on man every 5 mins to annoy Suho Suho trying his best to save the interview Chen making sure the interviewer feels comfortable on having a conversation with them Chan being the extrovert he is speaking his mind freely Sehun observing what's happening xiumini being the cutest person to exist just minding his business hahahaha (Ty for the reaction 🤍 )

Kai is extremely shy, extremely. He is the group Centre and a very popular member, therefore he is usually in the centre or front. His stage self is completely different. In fact, he is very sensitive, genuine and caring, but he also has a great sense of humour and often copes with laughter. D.O., Xiumin and Sehun are also shy, but not usually pushed to the front as Kai is. Kai has had to learn to cope, but is only recently looking comfortable with his role off stage. D.O. also has very poor eye sight and cannot wear contacts, so when he is not in his glasses he appears to glare as he tries to see what is happening. Chen is the eye contact guy who is known for this with his fans as well. He is an open, honest man. Suho is indeed the leader and is trained/expected to take the lead and fill any silences in interviews. Chanyeol and Baekhyun are the confident jokesters and are both very intelligent, especially when it comes to social skills.

in kai's defense that interview was pretty unserious lol. he's extremely shy so he prefers letting others answer if he can but I think he found the interviewer very funny and enjoyed the interview

i dont think theres a need defense anything. he wasnt like rude that you would point it out, but for sure wasnt in it that much. serious or not its still an interview and guess he wasnt feeling it

@@rainbows5232 I think it’s a response to questioning if Kai was acting arrogant or having an arrogant demeanor. That’s all. Being thought of as arrogant is a much more negative thing in Korea/Kpop than in western entertainment industry. It’s also always been a stereotype about him that he’s an arrogant bad boy type when that’s actually not true to his personality at all based on how he’s been these past 10yrs of his career.

@@jaetine9006 i get it but also we cant say nothing is true or not. were not him, we cant tell if hes arrogan or has such thoughts. some people are arrogant but keep it to themselves. so we can never know, we can only guess based on what we can see.

Actually Kai is very shy and he is very respectful person , in this group the most extroverts are Suho & Chanyeol. Yes Baekhyun is pretty confident guy and he speaks well Too. Chen is the kindest person. And D.O can speak really well when he is comfortable and he is a Great Actor have amazing acting career a head. Sehun have shy & cute personality and Xumin is soo adorable.There is one more member he is not in this interview that is Lay he knows the language english and speaks well too

Kai is so nervous he's literally unraveling the hem of his shirt 😂 He's among the quieter members in group interviews. You're right, D.O. doesn't mince his words. He doesn't speak as much as the others, but when he does it's clear he's thought through his words quite well. Xiumin and Chen are quite thoughtful with their words as well, but definitely louder than D.O.!

Nowadays Kai becomes a good speaker! He also won an award as the new best variety show man. He was very shy . DO changes a lot too, in their last show, Exo Ladder season 3 he was the funniest.

Kyungsoo just got a little more reserved for a while, probably because fans invaded his privacy a lot back in the day, but from his debut days you can tell he's always been fun and friendly, just like in Exo's Showtime

Chen is actually the most straightforward among them. He says what he needs to say. He makes sure that he gives you a clear answer, a yes or no.

In my opinion this interview is probably one the funniest interviews that they have done. Hahaha 😆 but you are right as always. SUHO is the leader. Chanyeol and Baekhyun are very funny. They love to make D.O s life miserable (in a funny way). D.O Is shy and introverted but he is actually a very sweet and kind man. ☺️ you should see a korean interview to have the full exo experience. And experience specially Baekhyun to the fullest. Normally he is the loudest and the funniest in my opinion 🤣 they have a grate bond together ❤️.

Kai is shy actually, very opposite of his stage persona. He's also feeling cringy watching his members speaking English LOL! However, he can be talkative if the interview is in Korean. D.O. is very reserved and always just observes his members talk. But if asked, he's very direct and honest but at the same time gentle and polite. D.O. is definitely not a typical idol. Chen, the one between Chanyeol and Suho is known to be very kind and warm.

If you knew Kai, you would NEVER have called him arrogant. He's the most humble idol in the industry. He's shy off stage and you really just need to be an EXO-L to understand why he was laughing like that.

I think Kyungsoo also tends to be reserved in these things because everyone else (mainly Baek and Chanyeol lol) are usually pretty high energy. I find that it gives a nice balance when watching their interviews :)

Oh my goodness, finally! 😄 Edit: So, you identied the leader correctly with Suho right off the bat, well done! Appreciate all the love for Chen, he is good looking, but doesn't often get the most spotlight, as other members are often more express, so that was nice to hear. Kai is not usually arrogant, but rather shy, I've no idea what was up with him in that interview. Chanyeol is a jokester along with the biggest mischief maker Baekhyeon. But yeah, D.O is usually like that, Mr sceptical is probably a good title for him. I guess they were all a little less themselves here, as they don't speak English that well (except Suho these days, like, he came out of the army as a fluent English speaker)

As an EXO-L who watched your other reactions I was really surprised and happy to see them but I guess you will have to see a korean interview to see their true personalities because they don't have an english speaking member (at the moment of this video members didn't know english that well to communicate freely). This was their first huge english interview so it was awkward and funny as hell and I believe it was a little cringe as well. I guess why Kai would seem arrogant and I can't tell how he felt exactly but I guess he was more like judgy :D He has that quality to judge or act judgy in a joking way at awkward and cringy stuff (Like Hyunjin a lil). I believe he was laughing at his hyungs and getting embarrassed at their random english in his mind. In general he was really shy back in the day but he became more open because of actively taking part in tv-shows. It helped him to be way free with his emotions and jokes. Thank you for this reaction and hope to see more of them here ^^

Kai: No , he isn't arrogant, he is very shy especially that time he was still very closed , now he opened up a lil bit (if you see him on stage you would understand what arrogant look like 😆 he totally change himself on stage) but since they are not good in English, Kai got second hand embarrassment, he couldn't hold himself back 🤣also he cries a lot too. SuhO: the leader, Calm like water, extremely witty and patient. Extrovert, confident social butterfly, can communicate beautifully, Now he knows English. Chen: Introvert, calm yet loud , he look at people's eys directly, he always look at fans eyes when he does fansign Chanyoel: Loud, crazy , confident, Extremly competitive ,extremely determined, can cry openly D.O: Extremely well mannered, loved by Mothers (both members' and fans') funny , unpredictable, shy quite and calm, Observer,sometimes judge people, can be straightforward but then he is also a sweet talker. Baekhyun: Crazy , Loud , sassy , yet deep , think a lot , but love to laugh , don't like to express his sadness, very confident, extremely determined (he is known as genius because he can do anything), witty and most flexible human being ( he can adapt very fast), fast learners. Xuimin: calm , sassy , he let his members shine, understand responsibility, Sehun: calm yet sassy , mischievous but loyal, one of the most loveable human being Lay: Clueless, as a genius, I think he try to keep his head clear, so don't put too many useless things into his head , very determined to his goal .

Ahh! I'm so happy you're doing Exo now. Love these boys. They introduced me to K-pop and probably have the best Live vocals I've ever heard. I always get shocked by how spot on you are with your first time analysis of these people. D.O is exactly as you described him, he's direct and a BS detector but in the sweetest and strangest way too. Chanyeol is a gentle outspoken giant goofball who gets very passionate about everything he does. He's quite competitive too and it's adorable to see. Suho is the leader so he naturally communicates really well. The one next to Chayeol is Chen and he is just a beautiful kind and attentive soul. Baekyhun is more outspoken during Korean interviews and set ups. Sehun is an introverted jokester and he's also the youngest in the group so I think he was just feeling shy during this interview. Kai is actually quite introverted and shy when he's not performing. I think he was just laughing because he was nervous. He gives off arrogant energy because he's known to be the most good-looking one in the group with tons of sex-appeal. Looking forward to your other Exo reactions where they're in a more comfortable Korean set-up.

Omg I LIVE for the Chen praise 🤩 I'm so glad you were able to pick up on his kindness and thoughtfulness. You're right, he does take the time to make sure the people he interacts with are given proper attention, especially his fans and during fanmeets, he engages with each of them by holding eye contact and listens to them with genuine interest. There's quite a few compilations of Chen showcasing moments of him just being the most considerate and kindhearted person ever, whether that's helping staff out when he doesn't have to (even if it's past his work hours), making sure nobody is left out of anything, giving his members helpful items like vitamins or towels for the stage, bringing people gifts and making them feel welcome, always expressing his sincere gratitude, offers comfort to people, even handing hot packs to a bunch of ghost actors when going through a haunted house (when he was supposed to be scared of them lol) since it was cold and snowing at that time. So really appreciate your ability to recognise Chen's sweet personality just from that interview clip. He is indeed our lightning 🥰 And yeah you're right that D.O's the type who doesn't take any bullsht (like scolding fans when overstepping boundaries), is very honest with his feelings and is quiet because despite being an extrovert, usually lets the other members have their input and likes listening to and admiring them. He is also a really sweet, gentle and softspoken person who like Chen and the rest of the members, seeps with sincerity, love and humbleness. And I get how you could get that vibe from Kai as he is indeed an arrogant beast on stage 😂 but it's like he does a complete 180 when off stage and turns into an easily flustered, giggly and affectionate puppy that freaks out over having to say a swear word on air 😆 All the members have a charm in that way, which is delightful getting to know when first stepping into EXO. So if it's not too hectic for you, it would be awesome if you could include more EXO content into your schedule. They're not one of the biggest K-Pop groups to date for no reason! I feel like more than their talents, the vibes Chen and Suho are giving out are the main reasons I stan them. Like how you saw them, I find them very warm people. Even before the news of Chen being father, he and Suho are already giving warm loving dad energy. Kang Seung Yoon of WINNER is also a bias of mine, also the same reason for stanning. Such bright energy.

exo almost never promotes in the west, they mainly focus in asia. That's why this interview of them attempting to speak in english is kinda funny and awkward at the same time lol(fun fact Suho is very fluent now and even attended a meeting in harvard along with his company to talk about kpop). Kai is one of the youngest along with Sehun so they just let the other members speak during interviews. Kai used to be very shy(i say used to, cause starting 2020 when exo has started focusing on their solo works, he's been working hard to push beyond his comfort zone and attending variety shows and interviews by himself. Now he's more talkative and outgoing. Kai in this interview is just him trying his hardest to laugh away the awkwardness and the second hand embarrassment his members are giving. He does that a lot. Btw i think you'd appreciate their more recent iheartradio interview as Kai and Sehun speaks up more there and the questions are also more serious and insightful. Although Kyungsoo(the serious guy) And Xiumin(the oldest) are missing since they are currently serving in the military during that time, Lay is in China as well.

Actually KAI is a shy person and exo member told that KAI is like the pretty shy girl off camera. He is an introvert but often talkative in korean interviews. He was cracking out because the members seem so serious in english (bcs he is unfamiliar with it). Once you know more about them, EXO is filled with a bunch of dorks and well mannered people. Try to watch their individual introduction so you'd get what exol think about staying for liking them 😂❤

im a lil sad you didnt mention xiumin even once but he's always been a quiet guy, especially during english interviews. he's the oldest in the group but often times seems like the youngest. kai is incredibly shy and a jokester, espeically during english interviews but he's a really genuine kind hearted kind of guy!!

D.O. has a very interesting personality!! He is called " Almokyung " a korean nickname which refers to how u can't expect what to see from kyungsoo (D.O.) he can be the most funny, weird guy when he's someone known for his quiet personality. Eventhough, he is most of the time quiet he has this charisma that makes people pay attention to him the most, he attracts people without even trying

Your descriptions are SPOT ON Suho: leader, pretty chill as far as exo goes(but they're all pretty loud when comfortable, even d.o.) loves all of his members, tho they tire him out for sure 😂, baekhyun has definitely taken several years from suho's lifespan Xiumin: the oldest, went completely unnoticed here, which is understandable since he's very quiet(the only member i would consider "quiet". Even in comfortable settings hes still a lot quieter than the rest). But just bc he's quiet doesn't mean he's not listeninggg Lay: was not in this interview and won't be in any for a long while due to political issues between Korea and China. He's also pretty chill and funny in a goofy way. Everyone loves lay, and lay loves everyone. Lots of love all around for our unicorn 😊 Baekhyun: exo's live-in comedian(and chanyeol's partner in crime). Really outgoing, was the last member to join and to get close he just hopped in the shower with them with no hesitation 🤣 but they all love him so it must have worked haha. Baekhyun seems really good at reading the room and uses comic relief to ease pretty much any situation. Chen: your description was perfect. Chen is as sweet as they come, seems comfortable in public settings and is super interactive with whoever he speaks to. Just a really sincere guy. Chanyeol: the "happy virus" he and baekhyun are always causing trouble together and together they keep the group laughing. Chanyeol is also susceptible to mood change(I think because he easily empathizes with others). The way everyone was laughing and giggly also probably made him giggly as well. D.O: yes, he's very direct, and a little shy. Despite being an incredible actor, his emotions outside of the screen are easy to pick up on; you can always tell when he's annoyed, angry, happy, excited, sad, etc. He also can't see well without his glasses, and contacts dont work well for him either(I don't know if he got lasik,or just learned not to glare), so you might see him staring like that alot. But also sometimes he's just judging 😂😂 Kai: not arrogant, actually quite the opposite, he may come off that way since he has such sharp features, but he's just a giggly, awkward guy who doesn't really know what's going on loll Sehun: the youngest, also a little quiet. Can be so random at times. He's their baby, and there are few things he loves more than boba and his dog vivi

A lot of people added that Kai is actually really shy & self-conscious. EXO members have said he's the one that takes negative feedback/comments from the public the most personal; so, he's probably reluctant to speak out of fear of saying something wrong. He's gotten a lot more comfortable as he's had to promote on his own for solo activities and variety shows^.^ BUT~ I do, also, have a vague recollection of him mentioning at a concert around this time that he found US pharmacies massive and elaborated that he had needed to visit one to get cold(?) medicine. So, there's a chance he, during this interview in particular, wasn't feeling well~

I guess Chen's behaviour also helped to develop Ellie's crush on him XD I never noticed the things you pointed out before tho, I mean about Chen, the others always distracted me... Baekhyun annoying Suho, Kai dying of laughter, Chanyeol and Suho doing his best to communicate, Kyungsoo wanting to go home as per usual, Xiumin resisting his urge to beat up Baekhyun, Sehun being Sehun and Chen, the angel he is, giving comfort to Ellie. It was such a legendary interview, just like the one with Lay.

Kai can't control his laughter cause of the other members are very funny. He's also the type of people who pays attention to others while communicating, he was closer to Baekhyun so he saw how he was teasing Suho which is funny. Chanyeol and beakhyun are the funniest members so get ready to laugh out loud once u get to know them all.

D.O. pretty much understands English btw haha, also it often looks like he is glaring but it's because he is not wearing his glasses (his condition is pretty severe and he can't wear contacts because they don't fit well his eye shape and are too uncomfortable) He's had this problem since ages ago, even when he first got to know the members, he had this problem which lead to him being misunderstood by them, he even got punched by an older boy when he was a teenager because of this :")

I think you'll notice a real difference from this to their other iHeart interview, which took place some time after~ It's also longer, and they were given meatier questions with more time to give better responses^.^ I'd also recommend watching Lay's interview with iHeart^.^ He's another member of EXO; due to political conflicts between South Korea and China, he couldn't promote with EXO at the time of either interview. He's... an interesting character, and I'd be interested to see what you think of him^.^ [Baekhyun also has a solo iHeart interview for his solo work^.^]

I love exo they are all such inspiring people! If u want to see some crossover of Kpop groups you’ve already checked out and how they vibe amongst each other you should check out SuperM! It’s a group consisting of Taemin from Shinee, Kai and Baekhyun from Exo, Mark and Taeyong from NCT 127 and Lucas and Ten from WayV (don’t think u have checked WayV out yet). They did a bunch of American Interviews and they have an interesting dynamic as there are some differences in experience and the whole seniority thing in Korea. But they get along quite well and are super funny too :D

DO has bad eye sight, he is allergic to contacts and wears glasses except when performing. That is why he has this intimidating stare. He does pay attention. This is a portion of the interview, the interviewer tickled Kai's funny bone and the members antics didn't help either. Both Kai and DO are introverts and shy, they are besties. Kai has a very strong aura and he carries himself well but he is sweet, kind, and is generally a happy soul...not at all arrogant.

If you watch him dancing on stage you might believe he is a real arrogant coz of the huge self confidence he has on stage but in real life he is just a sweet cute boy who is very kind and loving to the other members. Kai gives off that vibe a lot. My sister used to say she wasn't the biggest fan of Kai because of how arrogant he seemed. Then we went to the SuperM concert and saw more things that involved Kai and she realized that he's just a shy teddy bear. She loves him now and understands he has good control of how he presents himself on stage as a performer and how he is as a person not on stage differs a lot.

Ohh you picked the worst interview Max😟 I think they were quite overwhelmed by the whole English interview situation, actually none of them took it seriously, I think, except for Chen. Kai is not arrogant at all, he is just extremely uncomfortable every time he has to sit still, gets very self-conscious, at least that's what I've gathered so far. I am just getting to know them as well. But I can tell you this much: THESE GUYS ARE SUPER FUN! You should check out Star Show 360, 1-2 episodes. They are very funny and straightforward in that one. Jimin from BTS, Kai from EXO, Taemin from SHINee are close friends since they were trainees. They even have some live performance together. Kai and Jimin went to a vacation together and you can even find photos of them swimming together. They spent holidays together with their other friends.

You said it towards the end, this interview doesn't really let you learn about their personalities. The language barrier is huge here and I think this is the reason why DO, Xiumin, Sehun and Kai weren't that active. Apart from that, they tend to be quieter than the others, so if you want to see how they all interact, I recommend you watching some content in Korean :)

D.O is direct, that's true. He's often speaking internally, and he's the least to socialize (also yes, I can tell that he judges people through his eyes pretty often). Kai is pretty similar to me. Sometimes I laugh because I just felt awkward and shy and in need to shaken the awkwardness off but also wanting to give some sort of a reaction. Chen is just overall a caring and considerate person. Chanyeol yes is a jokester. Suho, maybe because he often lead the conversation given the leader he is so he looks comfortable there (also mind that he and Chanyeol are the extroverts). Baekhyun is a shy person but also is a friendly, confident guy. Several lines and he's already in a comfortable mode. and I guess Sehun and Xiumin would become more outwardly in a conversations with fewer people

D.O is such a unique idol because you can tell he is very genuine with his personality and doesnt put on an act infront of the camera, i dont think he cares whether people like him or not (which is a big part of idol culture). I honestly believes he doesnt really enjoy the whole idol life tbh, always at award shows and interviews and other idol events he always looks like he doesnt want to be there 🤣🤣🤣. Watch more of exo though. He reminds me of suga in his chillness and how maturely he holds himself.

Actually, there used to be a running joke in the famdom when this interview was filmed (2016), that Kai was high off of cold relief drugs and that's why he was so giddy throughout the entire thing. Because at the time, his mannerisms were very unlike him - especially for an American interview. Kai actually suffered from a bad cold during their American tour in 2016, and he said in one of their concerts that he had gone to the local pharmacy and picked up some medicine. He also acted this same way in concert whenever he would take the medicine, so the running joke was that he took too much and got trippy before this interview. 🤣 Of course, this was all just speculation, but it sure is funny to think about! I have no idea if anyone else remembers these small details from this era haha, since I'm such an old EXO-L now. 😂
