You know why the background shattered like glass during "The Eve" performance, right when they focused on D.O.? As a member of EXO, D.O.'s superpower is the ability to use the elements of earth (dirt) which give him strength/force. So what you saw was, as D.O. raised his hands above his head, he used his superpower to break the background. As you can see, everything EXO does has something to do with their origin story and their powers. You will see in future performances other examples of the members using their powers as well. For example, when it rains on stage, you will see them focus on Suho because he has the power to control water, and when they sing about "Thunder" you will see them focus on Chen because he controls Thunder/lightning/electricity. Baekhyun has the power to control light, so you will often see him turn the lights off or on when he is one stage. Or when there is fire elements you will see them focus on Chanyeol because he controls fire and when they sing about snow or winter you will see Xiumin because he controls snow/ice/frost, etc. Everything EXO does has something to do with their storyline including their live performances and even some of their choreography. To help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances here is a list of the members and what their special power is. EXO-K 💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeo) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho) 💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light 🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix. 🌏D.O. (Do KyungSoo) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control earth (dirt) which gives him strength/force ☄Kai (Kim JongIn) is a main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper and his power is teleportation (Kai means opening as in a door or gateway, so his stage name was chosen to represent his role within EXO's story.) 🌪Sehun is the youngest member of the group and he is a lead rapper, lead dancer and a vocalist -- his power is the ability to control wind EXO-M ❄Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) is the oldest member of the group and he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper and his power is the ability to control snow/ice (frost) 🦄 Lay (Zhang Yixing) is the Chinese member of the group, he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and rapper -- his power is the ability to heal anything. 🌩 Chen (Kim JongDae) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control thunder/lightning/electricity (As you can see, Xiumin and Chen were given stage names that sounded more Chinese so they would fit in better in EXO-M because they are the Korean members of the Chinese group) The Chinese members who left the group: 🐉 Kris was the leader of EXO-M he was a main rapper and vocalist -- his power was the ability to fly and his spirit animal was a dragon 💭 Luhan was a main vocalist and his power was telekinesis (The ability to control things with his mind) ⏰Tao (Z. Tao) was a lead rapper and vocalist and the martial artist of the group, so he did the flips and stunts in the group's routines. His power was the ability to control time On a side note: If you like EXO's version of "The Eve" you should hear the English version of the song. "The Eve" was co-wrote and composed by Henry from Super Junior-M and he sings a short demo version of the song in English. There is a clip of Henry in the recording studio singing the song you should watch. Henry is the youngest member of Super Junior and he is considered a music genius. Henry is Chinese/Taiwanese-Canadian, so his first language is English. He recorded a demo of the song to show everyone what the song sounds like in English. But unfortunately, SM never has Henry record the full English version, which most listeners will agree is a shame, because Henry's vocals and the English lyrics would have made this song an even bigger hit than it already is. The Philippine leg of the tour did not have the sliding doors stage props as the venue is smaller. Check out EXO-CBX's Paper Cuts (live) from their concert in Japan. These guys are amazing. Individually they are unique. Together they even rock more! It is so sad that some "fans" think that they are their property and not allow them to have their lives (such as Chen getting married and have a baby). We should be able to thank God that we have the opportunity to be blessed by being able to listen to their heavenly voices and their performances.
