And i definitely agree, best way to widen an rc is longer arms and shafts, hub extenders adds alot of stress to the hubs and axles since the pressire will be further from the fulcrum

OMG!! That’s what I’m looking to do to my DBXLE, I priced it at $1700 Canadian, plus 12 S system and batteries
@harbinger26 Жыл бұрын
12s sounds insane. is that not going to be way overpowered? wondering about control/breakage with 12S
@Mr.Wednesday. Жыл бұрын
@@harbinger26 thus the Vitavon upgrades. Do you have a DBXLE? The drivetrain is enormous, significantly bulkier that the Kraton 1/5. If the Kraton can handle 12S with stock drive shafts and cups, then the DBXLE with Vitavon upgrades ought to be able to handle at least 16s.
@harbinger26 Жыл бұрын
@@Mr.Wednesday. yes I just got the DBXLe2 and a bunch of aluminum upgrades (vitavon, DGI, DGracing and some other stuff like skid plates, etc). I'm new to the hobby though, so I never know stuff like what type of drive train can handle what # of cells, etc.
@Mr.Wednesday. Жыл бұрын
@@harbinger26 the chassis, chassis braces and front steering/brace plate, and bulkheads all need to be Vitavon, the stock ESC has to be upgraded to at least Max 5 or XLX2 for good hard 8s bashing . The dogbones are all perfect, the drive cups should be able to take 12S and when they eventually go, upgrade to Vitavon drive cups. Lots of $$ to pull all that off. All in about $3000 USD, but then you have an absolute weapon of a car. Start with the chassis and chassis braces and Max 5, then get the 46T spur so you can actually run the pinion of your choice with the Max5 setup.
@harbinger26 Жыл бұрын
@@Mr.Wednesday. thanks for this. I replaced chassis braces and front brace with aluminum (Losi) but not the chassis yet. Also did get vitavon rear hubs/carrriers (whatever it's called) and bulkheads (front and rear). Will prob wait to mess up the stock one to make that purchase. Also I'm so new it seems like replacing the chassis might be a bit outside my ability right now. I've heard max5/XLX2 isn't much different than stock from some guys- may also wait to run stock electronics until they bust/burn out. I only have 8s right now so hopefully drive cups are good to go. I also got DGI steel turnbuckles and some skid plates to keep my chassis from getting super effed up landing on baseball diamond/gravel stuff around here. Also the skull skid plates just look dope. I appreciate the input here man.

The next logical step for this car is the new hobbywing max4 combo on 12s!
@Blueknight19602 жыл бұрын
The price of the max 4 and the motor will be going for right at $800. That's an expensive upgrade.
@codnamerich2 жыл бұрын
@@Blueknight1960 I think an expensive upgrade is subjective. I'd say a majority of 1/5 scale owners would say spending over 2k on every vitavon part for the dbxle is an expensive upgrade. Since that's already been done, what is left? Imo it's the newest 12s esc from hobbywing. The adjoining motor for that esc is not the only 12s capable motor that works. The max4 uses 8mm bullet connectors, so take your pick on that. I think the motor they try to sell with it is overpriced when there is a glut of 12s capable castle 800kv motors for a better price and possibly a better fit rpm wise. Plus I think everyone wants to know how it performs. The other 12 esc's are hit and miss and the durability is questionable. A tough performing 300A esc is what alot of people want. HW wouldn't have made it if there wasn't a demand for it.
@Blueknight19602 жыл бұрын
@@codnamerich You're right, everything is subjective. I have some vitavon parts on my dbxl-e 2.0. I have the castle 2028 1100kv so I'll be sticking with 8s. Plus mine has been down for about 5 weeks now waiting on castle to warranty my xlx2.

AS we learned with crawlers, adding wheel extensions puts a horrible strain on the wheel bearings. I cant imagine something THAT big & adding 1 million times the power 😳! (OR am i mistaken? 🤷)
@ExocagedRC2 жыл бұрын
You are correct, I’d much rather have longer arms but to fit different tires these wideners are actually quite common on this vehicle.
@paulclancy24042 жыл бұрын
trade offs faster wear tear more breakages for more fun , my arrma builds you really see im suprised with crawlers though. With arrma reason typhon most reliable narrower less rotational mass with similar components to all others than mojave even though exo strips his all time . Also the slop in-between all moving parts happens faster bigger wheels and extenders . Losis are the best rtr will all this said tight tolerances bullet proof diffs but pay with breaking if you crash .
