Yes, when God wants to speak to us, He calls us by name. Only when He gets our attention then He speaks. When God speaks we have to humble ourselves. That is paying respect to Him.

Exodus 3:10-17. When has thinking you're not good enough kept you from serving God? How does it encourage you to look at Bible characters God used despite their flaws?

One thinks of Gideon who also tried to disqualify himself from serving God. Judges 6:14, 15. 14 Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?”

When thinking about the Bush here, brings to mind the Bush/thorn thicket, that was caught in the horns of the ram and substitutional sacrifice giving by God on Mt. Moriah, in place of Isaac. And the Bush used to make the crown of thorns on the head of my Lord Yeshua the Christ Jesus. Moses, "who am I". The Lord God, "I am who I am. The self existent one, outside of creation, the eternal non changing God, who unlike all else in creation does not change, who is, and unlike all else in creation is becoming, because it is always changing. He is Holy, Holy, Holy!

What's your take on Exodus 3:18 where God said the elders of Israel would go with Moses to speak with Pharaoh but they never did. Was this a failed prophecy?
