The gauntlet is very reminiscent of the omnitool. Some weapons also share some design traits of ME weapons (that kind of dual barrel look). Can't wait :D

I will be brutally honest, with the way things are going at Bioware, Exodus will likely be the next Mass Effect for me than Bioware's actual Mass Effect if its anything bland like Veilguard.Also the fact that KOTOR, ME and DA Origins were inspirations is an no brainer immediate W for me.

The big make or break for Exodus will be how they handle the time dilation ‘episodes’. I imagine that there are like several ‘chapters’ with large time jumps. Within each chapter you can do several missions but ultimately will have to do a larger mission that will jump time. You then see the results of your choices and what happened to the people you left in the past. How many chapters will there be? How will they manage and tie together the branching choices you make in each chapter? Will it lead to a definitive ending? Will your character still feel connected enough to the world as it ages for emotional impact or will you feel like an outsider? Its going to take some really amazing writing to pull it all off. I’m excited but also trying not to let my expectations get out of control.

@@Adanu191 I'm talking about you as the player. If your character is too detached from the other characters/events then the story might not have an emotional impact on you. If you meet someone in the first Act but then they get old and die by the time you get to the second Act you may not have had the time to get to know them and establish feelings. No one cares about Jenkins dying in introduction. But everyone remembers their Ashly/Kaiden choice.

The fact that James kept making Dune comparisons makes me think the evil playthroughs will be crazy. I’m imagining you could become some sort of false prophet/ dark messiah creating a dystopian future which you will actually see due to time dilation and that will undoubtedly have effect on your companions where some will straight up leave or try to kill you while others may become tragic fanatics like stillgar on dune part 2. The possibilities are endless and if evil runs looks like what I just described I might actually do an evil run for once as I usually don’t do them because it usually removes a lot of your core cast of characters like in bg3.

@DaffyDuckWizard I trust them for one simple reason it's based from a crew of golden age writers from bioware who jumped ship a long time ago who all worked on titles such as the first two mass effects KOTOR Dragon age origins Jade empire ect. Drew the lead writer for ME1 and ME2 is the lead writer for this game and he's one of the very few video game industry people I have spoken with via email on his mass effect books he made too really great guy and has a wonderful vision when it comes to creating a fantastical universe. The only thing questionable is it being financialized by Wizards of the Coast and everyone knows the shit BG3 went through so that is worrisome to some degree that's really the only thing that could sour the whole entire thing but aside from that pretty much every writer and person on this team helping with this game I kinda have huge faith in especially when they hired Peter Hamilton to help with the world building and lore for the franchise who is the greatest current living Sci Fi author on the planet. I'm cautiously optimistic about the entire project and I think it's more than them creating a "Game" but I think they are trying to secure a brand new IP and franchise and I think that's why Hasbro was involved with the sourcing on this but still it could go south anytime with them so it's safe to keep expectations in check even with rare cases like BG3 and the TW3.

Since the protag will be voiced, they mentioned before about how many choices that will be have affect in game. The reason why BG3 worked when it comes to non-linearity bevause of the non-voiced protag.

Apart from Witcher 4 (which is probably still far away from release), GTA 6 and Final Fantasy 7 remake part 3, this is definitely up there on my most anticipated games list of the near future. Does it look like a spiritual successor to Mass Effect? 100%! There's no denying lol But I don't care...if the game's great, I'll be more than happy because I've been craving for a great action sci-fi RPG for a long while now.

The gauntlet is NOT livestone; livestone is the purple stuff that Jun uses to trap enemies and shatter them. The gauntlet helps facilitate that but it is NOT livestone itself.

Moderatly interested. Several unique ideas as to world building (time dillation, forced evolution of homo sapiens in different conditions), several odd graphical choices (persons from story trailer looks like taken from Star Wars animatied series, not serious space game). We will see. I wouldn't be over-hyped, though. There were too many dissapointing titles in last years that promised "epic space operas" and fall completelly flat. Nothing comes to ME even close.

Let Mass Effect die... It is not going to be good. There is more reason to look forward to this instead. You can already indulge yourself with the book that comes with it (I highly recommend it). Exodus, the Archimedes Engine. Bioware and Mass Effect are those things in name only, made by people wearing their corpses. People who bought the names but did nothing to achieve the credit and status that came with it.

6:14 thats not a meele combat, its an finisher or phase change attack(you press F to do an finisher to move to phase 2). Combat looks kinda 6/10 to be honest. +1000 hours of Mass effect here talking. Dont really think Stealth is going to be big thing is gameplay when looking at this. They might be just teasing that the gameplay, is not like WARHAMMER 40k where you shoot everything. Its more "human" and weak. Which means that the stealth would be more story driven and short duration, and not like in OUTLAWS. In my opinion thats good. Gameplay looks like its designed as a COVER SHOOTER, i am asuuming the clove gives some kind of "magic" that acts as an abilities that use Cooldown or some other recource to function. The combat looks like 6/10, but we also did not really see anything. Few shots, gun that can change form(maybe mid combat?) and movement with grappling hook (maybe only in that boss fight?) and some meele finishers just like in MASS EFFECT 3(meele was not really big thing there either). So 6/10, but we didnt really see much. I am super hyped for the story and how its used. Sounds super interesting, but hard to implement. I like this kind of approuch to making anything, you kinda have to try to hard way to make something good. Yeah, cant wait for more, hype is easily 9/10 as of now :), the lore videos on their youtube are 10/10 content for sure. Things that are super weird/not to my liking are the helmets(they are like from Tom cruise movies lol, litghting inside the helmet :DD) and the charachter models... They kinda look like rubber starfield. Probably lighting that does that, so waiting for Beta footage to see what they really looks like.

The gun looks like it is reminiscent of the m7 or m8 avenger with those two prongs at the top and bottom of the gun. The gun itself looks anything but, but I feel like they took a bit from mass effect from that. Could be wrong tho.

I would read the book if you have time but there are no Aliens in a sense I mean there are aliens but they all deprive from Human origin and they transcend beyond normal comprehensions and end up evolving into more or less super humans who don't look like normal humans and are what we would call an Alien. Peter Hamilton and Drew wrote a lot of the concepts behind it and it's really really interesting.
