Sometimes you just need to hear shit like this from the “pros”… success or not Gary is a true musician/artist forever on the hunt. I know that I constantly feel despondent about where I’m at or “how good I am” as a guitar player.. my tone… the time I do or don’t have to play music. How good I “should” be after all these years. You just need to pick the damn thing up and be thankful that you have the opportunity at all, and continue on what is a lifelong journey.

I wish I had as much experience in the music business and touring as Gary does. I'm 54 and I'm just starting a music career basically. And I've been an Exodus fan since the first album. We are just now getting it going. I guess we'll see how far it goes. But Gary is probably one of my top three favorite guitar players of all time. Malcolm Young is one of the others along with Alex Lifeson.

when I heard the song "plaesures of the flesh" and "brain dead" being played on my local radio around 1988 it was like a revelation. So good riffs... and awesome solos.... in "pleasures" "Faster Than You'll Ever Live to Be " main riff is killer... This is where it all started. There was Slayer and Destruction before, of course, but this was like gold. Gary has one of the best sounds that exist in metal. The solos from the album Pleasueres of the flesh are masterpieces. I listen to a wide spectrum of metal and many genres, from Racer X to Origin, or John Petrucci and Immortal but Exodus started it.

I am so happy Gary was the guy who got the call when Slayer needed someone to take Jeff's spot for the last several years of the band. After putting in all of those years makign incredible music wit Exodus, Gary deserved a break and the chance to make some real money. Exodus should be way bigger than they are. Gary deserves some good pay days. Let's hope that Slayer paid him what he deserved...as Lombardo has raised some very real concerns about Slayer's book keeping, payments and management. Let's hope that Holt didn't get ripped off.

Glad Slayer pulled the plug! It was a shame. Jeff gone..Dave screwed hard.. ..and then Gary in .. Paul on the drums.. it wasn't Slayer at all . It was a corporation deal formation. Total BS. How Tom & Kerry & Management did Dave... No respect at all. I wss glad the whole Slayer gimmick was over! Carry Reign in Blood & Hell Awaits in your Heart .. those are true Slayer Albums.

It shocks me how many great players, especially rhythm players, point to Malcolm Young as their favs. I love AC/DC, one of my favorites in my early teens since Highway to Hell. Then Exodus arrived in '85 with Bonded (aka "A lesson in violence demo). It was game changing for me. Even more than 'tallica or the first Slayer EP. Then that VCR tape with Venom, Slayer, and Exodus (don't recall the name) sealed my love of the thrash metal genre.(Where the f*ck IS that tape?)😃
