For those who don’t know, they had Peter F Hamilton, sci-fi author, create the lore and write a book telling the story of this universe and it’s really freaking good, imo. If you liked the game trailer you should def check out the book, Exodus: The Archimedes Engine
@qzbnyv2 ай бұрын
I loved the book. And I love Peter F. Hamilton's back catalogue. But people should be aware that his writing style is to have the plot be a very long slow grind for individual pieces that eventually come together in some dramatic confluence. And that's exactly how the first Exodus book played out (+ cliffhangers for the conclusion book). I can imagine waiting like that won't be for everyone. Like... I really had to clamp down hard on my modern instant-gratification-addled brain during the first 25% of the book so that I didn't abandon it. But yes... totally worth it in the end :-)
@Snakedoc71702 ай бұрын
@ I definitely wanna stress that once the book starts rolling it really doesn’t stop and it ends especially strong! I do agree with you that it reads like typical Hamilton (I also love his other projects! Commonwealth saga was sooo good), and I wish the book started with a bit more excitement, but it’s that combination of detective mystery meets political intrigue meets game of thrones-esque inter-dynasty conflict meets space epic that just comes together flawlessly that I love. Worst part was having to put it down at the end.
@qzbnyv2 ай бұрын
@@Snakedoc7170 So true about having to put it down at the end. Especially with the WAY that it ended lol. I loved Thyra's arc throughout the book and I can't wait for part 2. I'm just aching for other people to talk to about the series. I feel like we readers are being manipulated in our perspective about who is behind Thyra. Like... given the timing of everything around the Imperial Accord and when the planet Dolod was course corrected (both 7,000 years ago), I'm suspecting that Thyra's family origin is a myth. I feel like everything is a long-run Mara Yama ploy. If there ever was a lost congregant princess for Zuberi, I imagine we'll find out she was captured by the Mara Yama and her memories extracted or something. It seems just too clean for the background timeline at the start of the book to reference Zuberi's alleged lost princess. I feel like it's the Mara Yama's ploy to destroy the Crown Dominion and get sole control of the HeSea and that Olomo+Sadihah are the only ones correct in thinking who is behind it. Anyway... haha /rant

@Jp808 legit was about to recommend the book. Don't want to sound like a snob, but I typically avoid "companion books" based off of large franchises. But Audible just would not stop recommending Exodus. So, I did some digging, and in nutshell the author was actually recruited by the game studio to write the book in tandem with the game's production as a way to help with world building and so on. . . That's very "In a nutshell" and I'm sure somebody is gonna fact check into oblivion. Regardless, I'm enjou the book A LOT. It can be quite disorienting at first (especially if you're not used to how some high fantasy /hard scifis start with long lists like a study guide), but it is so worth it. Things start to make sense and it's great.

Cringe. This isn't slop, it's well written. Understand the difference between pandering and strong characterization otherwise you risk blinding yourself from enjoying and experiencing great works of art like this is shaping up to be. Blurting out "dei" every time there's a capable woman character is an over correction to the woke media we have been enduring lately. This isn't that. Nobody cared that samus was a woman at the end of Metroid, because it was cool. Alien, great first two films, strong woman, nobody cared. Terminator. Strong woman, nobody cared. I could go on endlessly because there's endless examples of good stories with strong female characters that don't evoke this reaction from anyone. Dei has always been an issue of substituting good writing for virtue signaling about having a strong character without actually providing one. I would strongly recommend you reconsider taking this mentality with you through every aspect of your life. Stand up against pandering DEI, sure, when appropriate. This ain't that.

Really pushing this game before it even comes out. I saw the Exodus episode of Amazon’s “Secret Level” too. Fingers crossed this doesn’t end up another Concord scenario.

If Hollywood doesn't use real actors or props anymore, and everything is CGI, shouldn't our movie tickets cost waaay less? Like $5?

An interesting concept. Kind of funny its Matthew McConaughey in this one. ALmost feels like an extension of interstellar where they finally manage to find a planet that can hold life. But it just happens to be in a bad Galaxy. Looking forward to it!

That was pretty cool I'll definitely be watching for it to release I don't know if it's because I've gotten older that my desires have changed but I absolutely love the stories that come up out of these video games to me that's the cool part and the graphics are just beautiful

again the ouroboros symbol - O - behind the statue. mark of the beast

Ouroboros is a symbol of rebirth. But in the end it all truly depends on our perception of a thing.
@paultimson66742 ай бұрын
@@christophermoore6877 last week. the featured a house in England, where they uncovered witch craft symbols, The Ouroboros is on the door frame of the house. Satan created Hinduism. as a response to falling to earth. All false beliefs are satan inspired. He just churns out false beliefs. To confuse YOU. and he has succeeded. A SERPENTINE MARK. its also called LEVIATHAN,. when its in a figure eight. God fights Leviathan during the tribulation. He does not fight some gigantic lizard. Its everyone on earth with this mark. if you are not very careful. you take this mark. and you join a 'church' that worships satan. You are part of the leviathan church. Billions of people behaving like one organism. We are called the CHURCH. They are called LEVIATHAN. The synagogue of Satan. If you watch any tv shows today, they will insert the OUROBOROS symbol - META too. Into it. HALO? LOKI? the 100, Revenge? ALtered Carbon? i can rattle off 150 shows. They are getting you invested in CIRCLES. To like it. Today you see people with ouroboros tattoos. They like it already. Gillian Anderson has such a tattoo on her wrist. Many celebs have it. David Bowie wore it in concerts.. Satanist beliefs. Richard Harris had it. The circle is to BIND you. This is emphasized in LORD OF THE RINGS. that borrow from witch craft rituals. The pentangle goes into a circle and becomes a pentagram. As a circle is for BINDING. chains? ropes? ties? To BIND. The ultimate BINDING MARK.

This kinda reminds me of the Gateway series of books with the HeeChee ships that prospectors would find. If you used the ship you might never be seen again but it might also take you somewhere with ancient alien artifacts that would make you insanely rich. Loved those books growing up.

the first one was good. a subversion of Heinlein's adventures for boys, in an exploration of survivor-guilt. although clearly a product of the 1970s.
