Thanks for doing all of the guess work for us. Had been wondering about the efficiency of these products. Have a ton of zippo's but have been too lazy to test them. Again, thanks

I agree with you about the improvements on the exotac maybe they'll do a v2 someday?

I appreciate you watching the review1 I'm not sure they will. It seems like the exotac isn't a huge seller because of the price point for them. I dont see it marketed on their social media as much as match cases and fero rods.

Exotac all day. But that brass zippo case with the insert is just classic feel like thats a great edc lighter.

I'm thinking that a really good combo would be the butane soft flame insert with the Suprus or the Thyrm - it would last for years. I do like the idea that lighter fluid (or even alternate accelerants) are more easily available though.

I can't find anything I don't like about the Suprus. And to compare testing notes, I filled my Suprus (with standard Zippo insert) and have been lighting it approximately once per day for the last 38 days straight. It's still rocking. I have noticed that in the first few days, when I would light it, the lighter fluid would be all over the inside of the cap and would ignite as well. But in the last 15 days or so, this has stopped. I'll keep you posted. :)

Craig, thanks for following this review a long - greatly appreciated. The Suprus is definitely a great case. It is hanging in there with the two screw top lighters. I experienced the same thing when I initially got the Suprus and filled it with about 8ml of fluid - 5ml seemed to be ok. You get a nice combustion when you spark that lighter after some leakage - watch those eyebrows lol.

I think you convinced me to buy both the exotech and the peanut lighters.

Unless u have some extra zippo bodies lying around I think those are gonna turn out to be the best options.

I'm really curious about how that hinge on the suprus will hold up cause I've seen similar lighters fail.

I actually had to film the drop test twice because my first recording I had time lapse on - so technically they all received 4 drops at about 6 meters. I definitely think the Thyrm is more durable and better built - if it had an extra safety latch to put a bit more downward pressure on the lid, I think it would have lasted as long as the suprus.

@@theintermittentgentleman9517 yeah that would be awesome though i still might get one just because.

A small amount of paracord or other means and some Gorilla tape solves both the cap retention and roll away problem.
@theintermittentgentleman95172 жыл бұрын
Definitely could rig something up - but I think exotac should have built in a lanyard loop of some sort into the body, or using the fuel cap somehow with a lanyard. Like how it is set up on the bic 'firesleeve' case.

But then one day I thought, I'm gonna do this to any lighter I can anyway...Gorilla tape is tinder😂
