Love this place, i try something new everytime i go. Very sweet staff, lots of good food, cool stores and new things every time you go. Really happy they built the mall.

I have been there many times and have eaten at every restaurant except the hot pot place. I think they are all ok, maybe the Vietnamese place on the first floor and Legendary Spice on the second floor are the only places worth revisiting. Tips for anyone thinking of visiting, do not come on the weekend. It is packed and you will find it hard to find a parking space.

I went there shortly after it opened and was not too impressed. There was the grocery and only a couple of food places (although one of them had a robot server that had the face of a cat and that was cool). I thought the grocery area had a lot of wasted space. I much prefer United Noodles in Minneapolis. Good variety and things are easier to find.

Also I have eaten at that last place a few times. I tried more of the noodle items which were pretty good. Next time I go I wanna try the Korean place next to that one.

I appreciate that it’s in the suburbs. I don’t want to drive farther away to Mpls or St. Paul. Sorry but I don’t. It’s a good location for folks with busy lives and who don’t want to drive to downtown. Also, everyone I know that complains that the food isn’t as good as Asian food in the city; I’ve had plenty of meh Asian food in the city.

I am Asian and been in this mall probably like 5x since it opened. I love the grocery area for snacks, mochi doughnuts, Korean shaved ice dessert and corn dogs. Other than that I am not impressed with the price tags and taste of the restaurants, and food court area. You can find a better Asian food spot in the twin cities for a more reasonable price, tasty and more authentic but Asia mall is still something to try for some.
@davkaufmaneatstheworld3 ай бұрын
Any suggestions?

@@davkaufmaneatstheworld I don't know if you have heard of these places but I recommend Bunmee in Shakopee a Vietnamese restaurant with, a reasonable price, and good flavor. Try their crab rice, mango sticky rice, pho special, egg roll, Vietnamese coffee, brown sugar milktea, mango smoothie. Around Burnsville area there’s: Dragon start buffet very affordable price and the food is good for a buffet place. Manila Sizzling plate a family owned business. Filipino cuisine - try pork and beef bbq with vinegar sauce or sweet sauce, pancit bihon or palabok and pork sizzling served on a sizzling plate, pork belly and dinuguan made with pork blood. For fine dining experience I personally love Khaluna - Laotian restaurant located at Lyndale Ave S Minneapolis.

I appreciate this dude for making this video, but most of the Asian foods here don't taste anything like you'd find outside of MN. The foods were clearly catered to the western palette, but it's the Midwest, so it's understandable. You can find more authentic Asian foods in bigger cities like NYC, Chicago, LA, San Francisco, and Vegas.
@davkaufmaneatstheworld4 ай бұрын
Yes, be that as it may though, I'm happoy to have this place right in my own neighborhood
@Bluboy304 ай бұрын
@@davkaufmaneatstheworld Yeah, I totally understand and like I said, I appreciated that you made a video about this place. My comment was more of FYI. You said that you can't find dishes outside of that first restaurant that you ate at. But there are several Chinese restaurants here in the Twin Cities that serves those type of dishes. Same with all the stuff that you've shown in the video at the market. You'll find all the same stuff at smaller Asian markets around the Twin Cities. I'm also a local Minnesotan so I think it's great that we get more of these markets in the burbs but wanted to say that you can find similar items outside of that Asian Mall.

It's fun to see our local food scene reviewed. The Twin Cities is still far from sophisticated when looking at Asian food options. Dan, I wonder if you could not refer to these foods as "exotic?" This might seem trivial to some people, but some of the people who run those businesses in that mall have actually lived in MN for decades or they are 3rd generation immigrants running it. Just as there might be 3rd generation German or Irish immigrants around, but we don't call their cuisine exotic. Saying this is exotic fetishizes, the cultures, inadvertently I'm sure. It makes me and other Asian Americans cringe to be viewed as forever foreign in our own country. Farther below in the comments there was also a hurtful comment from someone who alluded to Asian people eating cats and dogs. I could either cry or throw fists to hear that.

I'm from Eden Prairie too and love Asian Food. The grocery dept is ok. You can get a great deal on bok choy and mint...they have lots of noodles. The checkout ladies are always grumpy and seem to know next to nothing about customer service. Whenever Ive gone there is no one around to help you find things (this IS MN and most people dont know Chinese or Korean, etc)The mall itself is far from spotless...it doesn't compare to the Eden Prairie Mall, thats for sure. Im really sorry to have to say this, but I wasn't impressed. By giving this comment I only hope they'll make some changes and take this golden opportunity to fix it!
