Exotic Foods of the Philippine Mountains (Sagada Food Trip)

More traveling in the Philippines with our next stop in the Sagada Province up in the mountains. We are here to explore as we shoot for Matanglawin and visit the different caves spelunking, waterfalls, rice terraces and best parts of the province. For our first day we go on a filipino food trip and try exotic and bizarre foods around the area. Many delicious cuisines as we eat Etag and also try different famous restaurants around the area. just to share..ARCHITECTURE 101: those are actually Traditional Ifugao houses, they essentially have high-pitched roof so that the roof area or the "attic" can be used as a rice granary/storage and because of the prominence of rats, they place "Halipan" or rat guard/disc, along the stilts of the houses to prevent rats from reaching the house...HOPE IT HELPS. Yay! Sagada vlogs! I've been waiting for this day to come! Bumod-oc falls na lang naabutan ko sa Matanglawin eh. Hopefully, they get to replay the episode. The great thing about Sagada is you paid a P150 meal but it's worth ₱300 because it's a big serving and balanced. Siguradong fresh pa yung mga gulay at prutas.

We once had a house like that. My uncle told us that it was designed as tal as that so that water will slip down fast and won't drip down. The smoke of the fire wood seals and preserve the thatches. I love this houses. Its refreshing during summer and you wont feel its raining.

FYI: Filipino Mummies are not found in Sagada Mountain Province. The only place that you can find Filipino Mummies are in Kabayan, Benguet the cradle of "Ibaloi" civilization. Another FYI the term Igorot is derived from the Spanish word Iggorote which means Mountain People. There is no physical "Igorot" tribe, the word is only use to identify tribes from the Mountainous Region of the Cordilleras. I belong to the "Ibaloi" tribe of Benguet & I am an "Igorot". The "Kalanguyas" from Ifugao province are also considered as "Igorots". The "Kankana-eys" from Sagada Mountain Province are also considered as "Igorots.
