We call deer meat venison here in the UK. Not sure if that applies elsewhere. Oh, and we call their horns antlers 😉. I think there's a chunk of missing video where you had your sound difficulties. No tasting of banana curry or apricots?

FYI; Deer has antlers. Cow or sheep has hons. Difference: horns are hollow, antlers are solid. We all called it, 5. However we didn't get to see the banana curry or the item with the stick. As usually, we enjoyed what we saw. Thank you.

Horns are not hollow. The bone interior is covered by a sheath made of keratin. When you look at drinking horns or other “processed” horns, the sheath has been separated from the bone interior, leaving a hollow horn. The main difference, other than the materials horns and antlers are made of, is that antlers are shed every year and horns are not.

Really interesting to see all the different items you bought. The only vending machines here in the UK are drinks or junk food sweets like chocolate bars and crisps (chips). At least that's all I've ever seen. It would be so much fun to buy actual food from a vending machine. Love the video Eric, always pleased to see one pop up in my notifications :)

Another epic vending machine video, Eric. Nice to see Megabrain joining you again. I don't know who thought that oysters and olive oil are a match; I'd yack if given that. Fresh oysters can't be beat. I grew up in the wilderness of Northern Ontario 🇨🇦 and ate plenty of game growing up: deer sausage is something I remember fondly, so I'm happy that you enjoyed yours. Japan just seems to do so many things right. It's a shame you had technical problems, but that's life, isn't it? My body is currently going through technical difficulties. 😅

I like venison, but as you can taste the iron it’s an acquired taste for some. I love wild boar. It isn’t usually gummy or chewy unless it’s overcooked. Not very often full of fat either, so I think you got a dodgy one. I’ll be eating wild boar tonight, but in sausage form! Oh, that cheesy coffee mate cookie looks like traditional shortbread…but I’ve never come across cheese in them before! I make lemon & lime shortbread for my family.

Thank you, Eric, for these wonderful videos. I'll probably never make it to Japan in person. But I get to see what I'm missing. There are two things I've learned about wild game. 1) Deer sausage is the best, especially with hashbrowns and eggs, and 2) wild pig meat should only be eaten ground up, along with ground lamb, and made in to a burger or sausage.

The venison sausages are awesome with redcurrant or cranberry sauce - being game, the sweetness really brings them to life! The oysters are really good on toast too.... they really need that crunch to counter the soft oyster. Another great vending machine video, thank you Eric

I'm going to eat so much curry hahaha. Japanese curry is absolutely one of my favorite foods ever. You ever get the opportunity I recommend mac and cheese with curry. One of my favorite cheap meals to make.

I've heard that boar is difficult to cook properly because it's a fibrous gamey meat. I think it works best ether cut thinner or stewed for a long time.

I’m actually excited about the banana curry. 😅 Part of me was like…..”eww”. The other part was … “intriguing”. Can’t wait to see if it’s sweet or savory. I know that I adore coconut curry and that is savory…so I wonder if the banana curry will be more like a plantain flavor rather than banana flavor. 😊 It can be said either way… Ape-ricot or App-ricot. Just like pecan can be said like, pan-cahn or pea-can. Both are correct!! 😊 Also… they are antlers. I love that you’ve been in Japan so long that you sometimes forget English words. 😂❤✌🏻
